Zoom in on position selection, birth biomechanics principles, fetal station & positions, AND SO MUCH MORE! Blissful Birth Initiations (BBI) is a Washington State-Approved Doula Training program offering 32 hours of comprehensive, in-person education. This training fully meets the requirements for doulas to apply for Washington State Doula Certification, a vital step toward enrolling with ProviderOne (Medicaid) to bill state insurance for your services. Designed to prepare birth workers for confident, compassionate, and culturally responsive care, this course covers essential skills and knowledge for supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. This year’s conference theme, Reclaiming Our Autonomy, Building Sustainability, and Protecting Our Legacy, revolves around the issues and advancements relevant to the doula profession to increase growth, reduce burn-out, learn innovative technology and services for sustainability, and how to protect the legacy of the doula. NYC Super Doula Combo Training
(Payment Plans available) This event meets the workshop requirement for International Board Certification through MaternityWise for the CLD, CPD and CLSE programs. You will also have an eClass to complete as well as reading and written work along with mentoring assignments and hands-on evaluations with clients. This is a concise way to learn the practical aspects of becoming a full scope maternity caregiver. While there are no pre-requisites, a basic understanding of birth is important. COMMUNITY BIRTH DOULA TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
This course focuses on providing doula support for BIPOC pregnant women and infants, addressing perinatal health disparities. Topics include historical racism in reproductive healthcare, social determinants of health (e.g., poverty), and the Community Doula's role in reducing stressors linked to preterm labor and maternal and infant mortality. Participants will learn about pregnancy and childbirth support methods, breastfeeding, immediate postpartum care, and the effects of social determinants on low-income pregnant individuals. Additionally, the course covers cross-cultural communication, labor support techniques, medical intervention pros and cons, cesarean prevention, informed consent, obstetric violence, and identifying Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. Apprenticeships and employment opportunities are available after certification, along with assistance in becoming Medi-Cal credentialed to work as a Medi-Cal doula in California.
