A two-day live training with BADT, featuring hands-on doula clinical practices, scenario roleplaying, live demonstrations, with sessions dealing with various topics like comfort measures, postpartum healing, grief, self care for doulas, and business. Open to past & current BADT 12-wk Training students. You will also have an eClass to complete as well as reading and written work along with mentoring assignments and hands-on evaluations with clients. This is a concise way to learn the practical aspects of becoming a full scope maternity caregiver. While there are no pre-requisites, a basic understanding of birth is important. SMC Full Circle Doula Training
This year’s conference theme, Reclaiming Our Autonomy, Building Sustainability, and Protecting Our Legacy, revolves around the issues and advancements relevant to the doula profession to increase growth, reduce burn-out, learn innovative technology and services for sustainability, and how to protect the legacy of the doula. Our goal is to increase the number of Black doulas and other doulas of color as a means of diversifying the workforce and supporting doulas of color to be successful in the industry, to improve infant and maternal outcomes, and increase jobs to reduce poverty, which contributes to health disparities.
