You need to be able to understand and translate medical perspectives including their benefits and risks as well as fully understand alternatives and how they interplay with medical advice. We believe returning the power to birthing families is the only way to improve outcomes. Anne Wallen and the other amazing team leaders have a passion for teaching as well as the passion for being part of the birthing community. The classes themselves are informative, fun and you know without a shadow of a doubt you are learning from the best! I appreciate MaternityWise for giving me time to take my course as this happened all during the pandemic and my own pregnancy! They continue to support me and the other students as we grow our business and birthing community. I cannot begin to express how grateful I am that I found MaternityWise. In the midst of the pandemic, my dream of becoming a doula was destroyed when no organiztion was doing in-person training. After asking around I was connected with owner Anne Wallen, who talked to me for over an hour and answered every question I had regarding becoming a doula. I knew instantly i wanted to learn from her. And she did not disappoint. She is not only smart and knowledgeable about the birth world, but she is kind and loving and wants to best for every student. She has since mentored me for over 4 years and I am so blessed to have her in my life. The whole organization is full of valuable trainers just like Anne who want to guide and teach to make the best doulas in the business. It has truly been an amazing experience.
