Elysia is a Trainer with the ProDoula Training and Development Team. She offers both virtual and in-person professional learner trainings in the following modalities: Certified Labor Doula - This two day training will prepare you to support families throughout pregnancy, birth and the early hours of the postpartum period. For passionate doulas, it is an honor to walk side-by-side with expectant parents on their journey into parenthood. Certified Postpartum & Infant Care Doula - This two day comprehensive workshop will equip you to become a Certified Postpartum & Infant Care Doula. You’ll leave with the hands-on skills necessary to provide support to clients and their families, the business skills needed to get started, and a level of confidence that will enable you to make it all happen! The rewards of this work are amazing! Certified Postpartum Placenta Specialist - This training features a live demonstration of the complete process of preparing and encapsulating a placenta for ingestion. Over the course of two days, you will explore the history of placenta use, gain a comprehensive understanding of the anatomy of the placenta and umbilical cord, and learn about the tools and equipment necessary to get started! Summary of qualifications

Elysia's experience spans a little more than 10 years. In that time she has achieved certification as a Labor Doula, Postpartum & Infant Care Doula, Childbirth Educator, VBAC Specialist, and Postpartum Placenta Specialist through ProDoula. She has also been certified as a ProDoula Trainer for Labor, Postpartum & Infant Care, and Postpartum Placenta Specialist.

Style of teaching

As a doula, Elysia conveys to each new parent she meets that it’s important to believe in the power within themselves, even if they never have before. She reminds them to surround themselves with people who love them, and who listen to them. It is not very different for those seeking to also provide this support. Elysia wants to make sure that every person who comes through her training is listened to, heard, validated and gets all of their questions answered. When you take this training, you are guaranteed 2 full days of learning and deep dives into today's most relevant postpartum topics, while also having a little bit of fun.
