Black Breastfeeding Peer Counselors Are Essential! The B.L.A.C.K Course is facilitating the 24 Hour Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Training led by and for aspiring Black lactation professionals and Non Black Accomplices supporting Black Communities. The Course will be taught virtually; Friday, November 3 to Sunday,November 5, 2023. Why Take The Blactavist Peer Counselor Support Training? Many in the lactation field started their careers as breastfeeding peer counselors. Actually, The B.L.A.C.K. Course team started in peer capacities. If you are a breastfeeding/lactating person who would like to support your community this is the course for you! This 24 hours course provides students with entry level lactation specific education to provide optimal peer support. Students will learn the basics of counseling, latch and position, milk production, how to prepare for breastfeeding, and facilitating breastfeeding support groups. All from the Black perspective!
