Deb helped me with caring for my newborn as a night nurse for my third child.  I had not used a night nurse before and was not planning on using one this time around either.  Unfortunately, my mother unexpectantly passed away when I was eight and a half months pregnant. Not only was I devastated but lost a big support system, that’s where Deb came in. Deb was referred to me by two friends whom had both had twins, they highly recommend her. Deb was a God send to myself and my family, on the nights that she was with us I was able to sleep and get really good rest. I have told many people that she absolutely kept me from losing it. Her help was so wonderful and she was such a calming presence to have in our home. I would 100% recommend her help!

I can’t begin to explain the relief I felt from the beginning knowing I would have a calm, level headed person helping lead up to the birth and within the delivery room on board to support us. In advance of the births (Deb was on our doula team twice) Deb met with us to adress concerns. At the birth she had the familiarity with the hospital and it’s staff to retrieve towels/gowns/birthing balls/hospital snacks and how to turn on the birthing tub and fill it. Nurses hands were usually overloaded with mandatory procedures, Deb freed up the nurse and tended to us. Deb allowed my partner to be fully present. For whatever reason having one more person with my spouse encouraging me, and who has been at many births gave me so much more confidence in what I was doing. She could tell me when I asked “is this normal?!” that indeed it was. Or calm my fears. Deb made sure my music playlist (I had forgot about) was playing to help relax me. About the time I started to shake with each contraction. Deb would remind me to just “go somewhere else in your head.” With the first birth I had no clue what to expect, and this go around I knew what I was in for, making it that much more difficult. When I got to transition I wouldn’t have made it through with my birth plan if Deb hadn’t reassured “this is normal, you’re doing great, this means you’re close” because I didn't recognize that myself. After my son was born (another no intervention, vaginal birth like our first) Deb took over as photographer with our camera (as we had asked) because we were in the moment of the golden hour and completely forgot. We had so many photos! Deb was the advocate we needed and I know I wouldn’t have been able to relax (as much as one in labor can) had it been myself and my spouse only. So grateful for my luck that our paths crossed. If I were to have another child I would seek her out again with no reservation.

We hired Deb as both a labor and a postpartum doula and I am so happy that we had her!! She helped me as I labored at home and came to the hospital after I was checked in. She helped keep me calm and walked me through breathing and other exercises to keep my labor progressing. My husband tried to assist, but having Deb there made our labor experience so much calmer than if we were doing it with just our nurse. Our labor nurses kept changing (I think we were mid shift change) and coming in and asking me the same questions. I couldn't answer as it seemed like I was always mid-contraction, so Deb stepped in as my liaison to answer their questions at my request. Having her at our labor helped transition to postpartum care seemlessly. Deb stayed with our family for about 9 months postpartum. She did everything from overnights shifts, daytime shifts, to a weekend shift alone with our daughter. Deb did everything related to baby care and additional tasks like cleaning and food prep. I had postpartum depression/anxiety and knowing our daughter was safe and loved when she was with Deb helped me tremendously. I hope we can hire her for our next labor and postpartum experience!

Deb was phenomenal during the birth of my second child.  Her presence was priceless for both myself and my husband.  She perfectly accomadated all my needs all day long and assisted my husband in helping as well.  She had several items in her doula bag to help, a little fan, massagers, oils, etc..  She fanned me when I was hot, warmed me up with blankets as I got cold, and massaged my legs and arms during transition.  She knew exactly how to help, when to be present, when to step back, and how to soothe me.   She went right along with all my requests and needs as a Hypnobabies mother as well.  I can not truly say enough about her services.  Having a doula is incredible and Deb is one of the best.

I was a neurotic with my first pregnancy. I wanted someone with me who would advocate for my desires in the hospital and who would answer all my crazy pregnancy questions. Deb was the perfect person!  She is non-judgemental, she understood all my concerns, and she is such a calming person.

I let her know my goals for my birth early on and she helped me stick to them.  Specifically, I wanted to give birth in a hospital, but I wanted to be in the hospital for as little time as possible before and during labor.  When I went into labor, my husband texted Deb and she helped us through everything. I spent the whole day at home relaxing and texting Deb and feeling completely confident because Deb was walking me through every step.

When we finally decided to go to the hospital, Deb joined us. Two very short hours later, my daughter was born.  It was such an easy, shockingly stress-free experience, and all thanks to Deb!  In the hospital, Deb was instrumental in giving my husband helpful tasks and keeping me calm and focused. The doctors and nurses all loved her as well.

After the birth we had Deb visit us with the newborn and she was again a calming force, reassuring us that everything was going well and answering all our questions.  I would hire Deb again and again.  She made the experience of giving birth so memorable and happy, which is something I never thought possible.

Deb was an absolute angel for my family. Deb was our night nurse with our sweet nweborn who was born with a Cleft Palate. Deb has personal experience with children with Cleft palates and helped us navigate this issue with patience and valued advice. Not to mention, she afforded us CRITICAL rest in those early days. Deb adored our child, and I felt so at ease knowing she was there to care for her. Likewise Deb helped with the little things like washing pump parts and folding baby clothes. Litttle things that make all the difference! We counted down teh minutes till Deb arrived nightly, and we are so grateful for her help and care for ALL of us as we entered the world of parenthood.
