I gave birth to our first chld last December and we feel so fortunate to have had Morgane as our Doula.
Through each step of the way, Morgane was a tremendous support and source of stength, calm, relief, and encourgemant.
During the many hours of labor, she made me feel more comforatble, safe, secure and protected. I truly felt like she "had my back."
Morgane was extremely patient with me as well, super attentive and comforting the whole time, never leaving my side but also respecting our space. She really listended to how I was feeling and understood what my body was
communicating. She knew how to handle each situation with confidence which gave us reassurance. With each contraction and and push, Morgane was there, holding my hand, helping me breathe and maintain mental focus.
She massaged me pretty much my entire labor, using a gentle hand as well as applying pressure when it was needed. She guiding me through various positions and helped me practice different coping mechanisms.
Her positive and calm energy was also therapeutic for me and her own personal strength was motivational.
Morgane is a wonderful person and an amazing Doula. Both my husband and I don't know what we would've done without her.
Her knowledge, experience, confidence, patience and warmth was more than we could've ever hoped for.
Thank you Morgane for being a part of our birth experience. We will be forever grateful.

Morgane Richardson and Anna were amazing to work with as a Doula team! My husband and I immediately felt comfortable when we had an in person interview & loved everything they offered: two educational meetings before the birth, help and advice with hospital system, doula birth day service, post birth support, and unlimited phone/text support. I would recommend them to all my friends.

Upon meeting Morgane and Anna, I immediately felt comfortable and at ease about my decision to get a doula. They are both not only incredibly warm and friendly but they are knowledgable and always there to help.
Morgane was on call when I went into labor and she was a huge support during the labor and delivery. She was able to provide physical comfort during contractions and also help guide my husband on how he could help. She was encouraging to me and proivided great suggestions on things I could do or change during the whole labor. she even cleaned up our room before leaving - it was in a better state than when we arrived. We are so happy we did decide to use a doula and could not recommend Morgane + Anna more!

Morgane is an amazing doula! She helped to make my birth an amazing experience even though so many elements were out of my control. I went into labor 7 weeks early and even though she was not officially on-call for my birth yet, she dropped everything and was available to me the moment I needed her. My husband was also out of town at the time and so Morgane ended up being more like my surrogate partner/doula and intuitively knew exactly what I needed- there was very little need for any verbal communication. She pressed on my back during contractions in the exact spot that provided relief, gave me sips of water to hydrate me in between, held the space for me to do what I needed to manage contractions, and figured out how to get my husband on Skype so that he could witness the birth of his son. After the birth Morgane got me breakfast and helped me get settled, including checking on my baby in the NICU before I was able to go there myself and staying long after I said she could go home :) Morgane trully helped me to have the best birth experience possible and I would recommend her in a heart beat to anyone looking to have an amazing and empowered birth experience.

morgane is THE BEST! i truly cannot imagine having gone through the pregnancy and birth of my first child without her. she is kind, brilliant, funny, loving, beautiful, passionate, trusting and just completely awesome. as a single mom, i knew i wanted someone with me during labor and delivery and i absolutely found the perfect person. i have zero complaints and i have nothing but super positive feelings for her. morgane always responded to any of my texts and questions throughout my pregnancy with care and insight. i always knew i could count on her and i really cherished our meetings and conversations and she helped me feel confident, prepared and really excited for the birth - especially because it was very different than what i had imaginined. my little guy was 2 weeks past my due date, i was inducced, labored for about 16 hours but never progressed beyond 3cm and for the survival of my baby then had to have a c-section. it definitely was not "my plan," and i was so grateful that morgane was with me every step of way and helped me understand what was going on and what my options were. and in the end she was in the room as i met my beautiful baby. i hope to have another child and i will absolutely call morgane.

My husband and I could not have had a better experience with Morgane. Her wealth of knowledge of the hospital, what we could and could not ask for and how I could best cope with much of the pain in the privacy of my own home made it possible for me to have a natural birth. I felt she was completely in control and knew exactly what to say and do to make the experience for my husband and I more comfortable and secure. She has become a very important person in my life and I'm so thankful I got to work with her.

Morgane is one of the most kindhearted individuals I know. I frequently find myself lost for words when people ask what it was like to have her a part of our experience and during the birth of our son. From the first meeting with Morgane to the last, I knew that Morgane sincerely cared about her relationship with my wife and I and she was truly dedicated to meeting our family needs. Morgane ensured that my wife and I were comfortable through the entire journey. Her calmness, advocacy, and ability to read our emotions without speaking a word brought me a sense of security. I went from not knowing what to expect to advocating for every family expecting, to consider Morgane’s involvement. Morgane provided me with knowledge and understanding about the birth, but also focused on my wellbeing after my son was born. She is highly competent and a leader in the community. Morgane has been a true blessing for our family. I now not only consider Morgane a part of our family, but I am so proud to have had her with us as we welcomed our son into this world. Although I find these words to be a great description of Morgane’s sense of character and our amazing experience, there are no words to truly capture how powerful it was to have her by our side along this beautiful journey.

It has been five months since my wife and I welcomed our baby boy. I have not written a review about Morgane before now because it has been a challenge for me to find the proper words to express my gratitude for the amazing work she did. Giving birth was the most powerful experience of my life and I am so thankful to have had Morgane on the journey with my family. Being a first time mom, I read the books and took the classes but I just could not have known what labor and delivery were going to be for me. The support and kindness she provided was remarkable. She took time and effort to have a clear understanding of what we wanted in delivery, what things were most important. She used her knowledge of our wishes to advocate for us as well as encourage us.
When I look back on the day my baby came into the world, it’s not the pain and doubt I recall, most of the experience is hazy. It’s the loving care and kindness of my support people that sticks out in my mind, the soothing presence and comfort. From the moment Morgane arrived she was tuned in to what I needed, which was not only just to be as comfortable as possible while I labored, but also what steps I needed to take keep my labor progressing. When I felt I could not take any more she assured me I could.
Morgane provided relief for my wife when she needed to refuel and rest. There really is no way for me to capture in 2000 characters my gratitude for all that she did for us before, during and after the birth of our beautiful son. Morgane will always hold a special place in my heart for her role in my greatest accomplishment.

My experience with Morgane was nothing short of amazing. She was incredibly supportive prior, during, and after birth. I knew she was the perfect fit for us because she really listened and asked us important questions prior to the birth of our daughter. Morgane was honest with us when I expressed doubts about getting into the birthing center. She laid things out straight. But above all, it was Morgane warmth and sense of humor that made me feel completely comfortable with her. I knew I could be the most raw form of my self in front of her and not feel judged or uncomfortable.
She was always present to answer my questions or talk me off a ledge (when I wanted to try natural induction techniques like acupuncture several weeks prior to my due date). During early labor she provided support for my husband and allowed us the space and freedom to labor at home for as long as possible. I think that knowing she was not far away, but givng us the space to just be home together enabled my labor to progress quite quickly. When Morgane arrived at our home she supported me the in the most nurturing ways-- through gentle massage and reassurance. I felt so secure as we rode to the hospital. Once we arrived she helped me bring my baby into the world. It was both empowering and transformative. Birth literally renewed my faith in life and the power of the universe unfolding as it should. Morgane was intregral in this process.
Post partum, she has been a resource of knowledge and support. She came to visit us just yesterday and shared her warmth with all three of us. We are all thankful for her!

My husband and I decided we wanted to work with a doula soon after finding out we were pregnant with our second child. We had a lot of concerns about the birth, as our first experience was complicated, and this time, we were hoping for an unmedicated VBAC in a hospital. We wanted a knowledgeable doula who would be able to help us labor at home for as long as possible, be able to manage the energy in the delivery room, assist with anxiety/fear I had about the birth, and help with movement and pain management techniques. We also wanted a doula who would be able to adapt to different situations and had the ability to work with different personality types without creating friction. Morgane did an amazing job across the board!
The second we met Morgane, my husband and I felt very comfortable and at ease, which was exactly what we were hoping for. She really listened to us during our prenatal meetings (and drew on those conversations to help us during the labor), and made us feel like we were always welcome to talk to her about anything we needed. During our labor and birth, Morgane was very supportive and knowledgeable, was strong when we needed her to be, she brought levity to the room at just the right moments, and was extremely attentive while still allowing us space to make the experience feel like it belonged to my husband and myself. Morgane worked to create an environment in the delivery room that felt safe and comfortable for us and she did an amazing job of helping me cope with labor pain using a variety of techniques. Ultimately, we were able to achieve all of our goals for the birth, and I feel certain that Morgane played a major role in that. My husband and I honestly don't think we could have done it without her.

Morgane was amazing! She came to the house twice before the birth of our son and walked us through all of the possibilities of what could transpire during labor. My partner and I hoped to labor at home and Morgane discussed with us positions and techniques to manage pain. She was always available to answer questions beforehand.
During the labor Morgane was respectful of my partner and my space while remaining present and supportive when we needed her. She stayed throughout the labor and, when it came to decisions that needed to be made, she was wonderful at making sure we understood the options and came to a decision on our own, without imposing her opinions.
Morgane followed up with us after the birth and has remained a wonderful source of support. I highly recommend her!

I feel that I have been very lucky to have had Morgane as my birth doula. She is sympathetic, intelligent and she has a flair for making people feel at ease. The moment I met Morgane for the first time, I could tell that she has a warm and positive personality and felt as if she was one of my close friends.
This being my second birth, I knew exactly what kind of birth experience I wanted: pain medication free, induction free (whether medically or holistically), intervention free, hopefully pain free, mother-and-baby-led gentle birth. Morgane checked in on me regularly to see how I was doing during the pregnancy and after the birth. She also helped me with creating a strong birth plan. During the birth, she was always by my side while supporting and letting me focus on what my body was doing. It turned out that this birth was much quicker but also more intense than my first birth, and having Morgane's caring and efficient support, made it possible to ride through difficult moments.
I recommend Morgane to all birthing mothers. I cannot imagine anybody who wouldn't like her.

In planning my homebirth, I thought I would not need a doula since I would not have hospital staff to contend with. I also usually like to be alone when I'm in pain/sick so I thought a doula would be an annoyance. My midwife convinced me to just take a look at the NYC Doula Collective. We decided to pick a tier 1 doula and Morgane and I easily set up an interview. When we met, I instanly knew I would love her. She is easy going, friendly, attentive and incredibly smart. I felt at ease with her right away, as if I'd known her for a long time. Finding out about her work and research in social justice issues (especially women's health) told me she was very aware and empathetic- two very important traits for a doula to have! She kept in touch with me and checked in on me every so often, which felt great. She also made sure one of our prenatal visits was at the same time I had an appointment with my midwife so that they could meet prior to the big day. They clicked as well and I knew I had a great team. On actual birthing day, Morgane came over as soon as I asked her to. She came in during a contraction and rubbed my tummy for me. She always made sure I was comfortable with her help but also seemed to intuit what I needed without asking questions that would interrupt my birthing flow. Even though I took an intense Hypnobabies course during my pregnancy, during labor I did not want to hear anoything about it. On top of that, my husband was also more nervous than we anticipated and seemed like he didn't know what to do or how to help. Since we thought he would be my main support, Morgane really saved us by being my real main support. She had us call the midwife at the right time, worked very well with her and then took pictures of all the important moments. The cleanup was so thourough you would never know a birth happened right in my livingroom! I want to recommend her to every pregnant woman I know since I'm convinced that doulas can improve any birth, anywhere.

We recently gave birth to our first child and of all the decisions we made leading up to her birth, one of the best and most rewarding and worthwhile was hiring Morgane to be with us. Morgane is so kind and conscientious and her calm and caring prescence during the birth gave me strength and made me feel in control of a very intense and overwhelming experience. Before the birth she went above and beyond to get to know my husband and I as people, and during the birth she used this knowledge to relate to us on a really personal and specific level. I can't even imagine doing the birth without her. She worked really well with our midwife and formed great relationships with the nurses at the hospital so was able to keep us really in the loop and help us to be aware of all the events througout the day. She adapted herself to whatever new situation arose throughout the whole process and never got flustered. She TRULY went above and beyond -doing things I never would have expected her to and always with a smile. If you have Morgane with you for your birth- you are very very lucky!

Morgane was a guiding light through our most important and life changing experience. While we'd hoped for a natural and gentle birthing experience, the baby had other plans. As labor dragged out over 48 hours in the hospital, we experienced many set backs that led to further and further intervventions, but Morgane kept us focused with her calming, wise and comforting presence. In the end, we were able to avoid a c-section and miraculously delivered a healthy baby girl. We know we would not have been able to go through everything without Morgane and feel incredibly blessed to have had her at our birth.
