I had very little knowledge about postpartum doulas prior to our experience with Wichita Doula. In fact, I actually thought Doulas were only for labor! Needless to say, I found some great info about Sara's experience with lip and tongue tie procedures and our family hired Sara to assist with postpartum care during my daughter's release of 3 ties. Sara was able to bring an in depth amount of knowledge for this procedure and help me prepare for not only the procedure, but the recovery and stretches as well. While I expected her to be by my side, I got SO much more! Sara was super observative and took care of all the tiniest details so I was able to concentrate on my daughter and her recovery. I'd describe her as 'a mama to the mama' and you feel so cared for--it's truly unlike anything I've ever experienced since beginning my journey to parenthood many years ago. Now with several friends and family members expecting later this year, i'm shouting Sara's name from the rooftop and actually plan on gifting her services to them because it was THAT helpful!

Sara was an absolutel delight to work with.  My husband and I hired Sara to be our birth/postpartum doula for the birth of our first child in the fall of 2015.  She was extremely professional and incredibly knowledgeable in all aspects of her job.  I had my heart set on using Hypnobabies to achieve as natural a birth as possible in our local hospital, and Sara studied Hypno resources on her own to become more familiar with my dream birth!  What dedication!

When it came to our birth itslef, things did not go according to my perfect plan at all, and Sara helped me process and understand what was happening both in the moment itself and afterwards at our postpartum visit.  Her words of wisdom truly helped me find acceptance in my birth experience.

Also, we decided to have Sara perform placenta encapsulation, and this process was smooth and easy.  Currently I'm a few weeks into taking my placeta capsules, and though I have no prior births to compare this one to, I like to think that replenishing my body with some of the lost nutrients and hormones is helping my recovery immensely.

Sara is such a valuable resource, and we recommend her for any type of birth you're planning!

Sara was very professional, organized, sanitary and had lots of knowledge to share with me.  She encapsulated my placenta which certainly helped my milk production compared to my first.  She provided post-partum care going above and beyond my expecations.  She's a great resource for all things women, families, and birth.  I'd absolutely use her again.

My wife and I were referred to Sara via an acquaintance of ours. We were very much focused on having a natural birth with as few medical interventions as possible, and Sara was great with providing ample information, discussing the different options and outcomes along the way and how to ensure we preserve our birth experience from the traditional heaviliy medicated and managed birth process. Sara was generous with her time, and we always felt welcome at her place. She was genuinely concerned for our well being and was excellent at listening and providing feedback to our questions. What we particularly liked about Sara was the way she went about her job - she was not intrusive or pushy and directorial in her approach - she viewed herself as the resource and educator and left it up to us to make the decisions after we were provided with all the relevant information. Sara honored all of her committments, responded promptly and timely on the night of the delivery, and was essential in supporting us through the pregnancy, labor and delivery.

Our experience was  with Sara was excellent. We had to make some decisions about our daughter's birth. Sara helped us make informed decisions by advising us on what questions to ask our doctors and nurses. She also helped my husband by showing him how to get involved in the birthing process. This helped my husband and I work together as a team.

Sara did an amazing job! She showed so much tact and professionalism. She was a huge support to me and my husband before during and after the birth oaloud daughter. As this was my first child I didn't know what to expect or how to plan and Sara thought of so many things that really really helped us. My husband and family rave about her and ifa possible I would love to have her at all of my future births. She was not pushy but was available, reliable, educated, gentle, encouraging and willing. I was so very impressed!
