We cannot say enough positive praises for Paul! We were in the hospital for close to two days without dilating past 1cm. The doctor was convinced I'd have to have a C-section. Paul came in and asked if he could work with my husband and I and told us the exercises he was going to show us would dilate me at least three more cms. By golly was he right! The next time the doctor checked me, I was up to 4cms! He also came back to show us different exercises for when I was in active labor that also helped dilate me further! No C-section was needed! Our beautiful baby boy was born vaginally and we definitely have Paul to thank for that! Not only did he work his magic with us, but he is also one of the nicest guys with the best bedside manner! He was always checking in on us, even after our son was born, to make sure we were taken care of! Paul rocks! He will always hold a special place in our family's hearts.

We delivered in Beavercreek, OH and Paul was such a godsend. He gave us a tour early on and provided us with amazing resources that helped relive my fiances pain and stress during delivery.

When it came to delivery, Paul not only helped to make the delivery smooth but also helped with the small creature comforts.

I highly recommend Paul for anyone going through pregnancy and delivery.

I work as a Labor and Delivery RN with Paul. Paul does an excellent job of providing care and identifying patient needs. He helps patients with his vast knowledge of labor and delivery. He helps patients get into different positions and utilizes different techniques that allow labor to progress. Patients are truly thankful to have Paul working with them as they know that he is there to help them through the process of labor. Paul has a true passion for labor and delivery and helping laboring women. He is an asset to our labor team, and I would recommend him as a Doula.

I am very thankful to have had Paul as my doula.  My last delivery was fast and eventhough my husband and I attended the Bradley method class, we were totally shocked when labor actually started and forgot all the techniques that we learned.  This time around we wanted to have a doula to be an extra support for labor technique ideas and someone to help us remember necessities that you kinda forget when you are in the midst of labor (remembering to drink water, eating, music, room temperature and lighting, etc,).  Paul did all these things and more.

We really felt like he was excited about our pregnancy and enthusiastic about helping us prepare and feel comfortable at the hospital.  He loaned me really helpful books and exercise videos, encouraged us in practicing relaxation and massage techniques, and stayed in touch regarding my pregnancy progression offering his experience and advice whenever needed.  Feeling comfortable and at home in the hospital was extra important for me because I have had bad experiences at hospitals in the past and even the smell just makes me tense up and feel sick.  This time around I was able to relax and focus on laboring.

My husband cannot say enough about how much Paul was a help for his role as "coach" because he liked knowing that if he wasn't doing what I needed he could always fall back on the experience and help of Paul.  Paul gave him this really amazing hip squeeze technique the "day of" that made a HUGE difference and took away 80% of the discomfort of contractions- it was a life saver and helped me stay on top of contractions throughout labor! My husband felt a huge rush of accomplishment having been able to coach me through labor, this time being a partner in labor whereas last labor he had been stunned and not knowing what to do most of the time.  Paul was a huge help to our pregnancy and delivery - thank you!

Paul was simply wonderful to have as our Doula.  My husband and I used a doula for my first delivery in another state and our experience was very positive.  We were hoping that we would be able to find someone who could fill her shoes, and we were lucky enough to find just that person.  Our closest relative/ was a 5 hour drive and seeing how we just moved to the area we did not have someone we could leave our 17 month old with during the delivery.  I was very concerned that I would spend much of my laboring dealing with the needs of my 17 month old.  This is where Paul went above and beyond.  He was able to keep my 17 month old entertained so my husband and I could do the relaxation techniques Paul gave us.  He also jumped in to take my husbands place as we needed him to throughout the labor process.  I was so greatful that Paul stayed with us the whole time through the delivery.  Near the end of my laboring I decided to go with an epidural and it did not take.  One leg went numb but that was it.  Paul was very helpful in helping me get into positions to ease my pain and calm down my breathing as we got near the end.  It was a wonderful experience both for me and my husband and we cannot thank him enough for being part of our joyful event.

Just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to have Paul as a doula for the birth of our second child. Paul was a tremendous help throughout the entire birthing process. Whether it was helping my wife with her comfort level, giving encouragement,  and even help with keeping our 17 month old occupied while at the hospital. Paul went the extra mile to be sure that we had everything we needed to make our birth experience a pleasant one.

We were referred to Paul by a coworker of mine, and it was the best recommendation we have ever been given. We first met with Paul around mid February when I was around 5 1/2 months pregnant. He was very knowledgeable and had a lot of experience, and my husband and I felt comfortable with him immediately. We asked him to be our doula on February 25, 2013, and we are so glad we did. We consider him a godsend through the whole pregnancy and labor experience. He provided us with various forms of literature and exercises to prepare my body for labor. My favorite was the yoga ball, which saved me tremendously on back pain through term. He met with us several times, even making house calls, to go over different things to expect our birth plan & relaxation and exercise techniques to try while pregnant.
He was a great support person during the labor. He recommended different positions and pain release techniques that were very helpful and he encouraged me the whole way. He was able to show my husband and mother in law different ways to comfort me during labor. Even though I ended up having a c-section, the ten hours I was in labor were much more comfortable having Paul to coach us through. I am very glad we chose Paul Cobb as our doula and would recommend him to any woman having a baby.

I was 35 weeks pregnant when I started throwing up everything I tried to eat/drink, so I went to the hospital up to labor and delivery. Paul Cobb was my nurse and he hooked everything up to me, and told me he was going to give me an IV and check everything out. Another nurse came in and checked my cervix and I was dilated to 4 and 90% effaced, She told me that I was having my son that night. I was really nervous and Paul calmed me down. When it was time to kick start my contractions he walked around the hospital with me and showed me some exercises to help with labor. He talked to me about my baby and totally mellowed me out. He also helped my boyfriend a lot with the whole daddy thing. He was really nervous because I was over a month early, and he'd never had any experience with pregnant women or babies. Paul calmed him down and showed him how to help me out. When my labor got further along, Paul showed me how to make the contractions hurt less, and he also kept me calm during my epidural insertion. He wasn't supposed to be at the hospital that night, but he came up there just to help me through labor. I really appreciate that, and I would suggest him to any one of my pregnant friends. He was great. After I had my son, the second day in the hospital, he brought me a breastfeeding blanket, and some organic tea, which he didn't have to do. All in all, I thought he was wonderful. He made the whole birthing experience better than it would have been. I'm so glad he was my nurse and Doula.

As I lay here with my perfect 9 lb baby on my chest, I can't even believe it. That through God my husband and I were able to create such a miracle and that God also made Paul Cobb coincidentally available to us on the induction date (he was scheduled to be off) to help us deliver our perfect angel with very little medical intervention. Paul was exceptional. Every method he tought my husband and I seemed to help me cope with the pain so that I could make it through to the next stage of labor. There is no way I could have made it through the induction without his knowledge, patience, and sensitivity. Because of Paul Cobb (my Godsend, as I have called him), I was able to experience a wonderfully natural birth where my son came into the world peacefully calm and alert.  I never thought I'd be strong enough to go without an epidural, but Paul made that possible and I continue to thank God for putting him in my path on Feb. 6. God is so good!!

My 15 year old daughter was 35 weeks pregnant and was seen in L&D and Paul Cobb was her nurse. That night she was admitted and gave birth the next afternoon. Paul was to go off his shift at 11pm but decided to check on my daughter before he left. When he realized she was in labor, he rearranged his schedule to be there to support her. He was amazing! Not only did he assist her with different positions and comfort measures but he also assisted the father and reassured him of his role during labor and birth. Also in the room were 3 of her siblings (2 of them younger), myself, and her best friend and Paul explained to everyone how to help mom feel comfortable and assist her. He is knowledgeable, caring, and patient and I am thankful to have had him there. She had not planned to have a Doula nor had she attended any birthing classes yet. I am convinced that she was able to get through the birth process calmly and comfortably because Paul was there. I also thank God for allowing us to cross paths that night. I think it would have been very different and difficult if my daughter and the family did not have Paul's guidance and support. He helped make the entire process extremely rewarding and calm for everyone involved. He also stopped by to check on her and the baby the following morning. I would definitely recommend Paul to any mother considering Doula services. He is an excellent teacher, coach, and overall calming presence. Thank you for everything Paul!

Paul has a very easy professional manner with clients and their families. He has a large presence but in a very discrete and calming manner. Paul is able to engage family to help support the laboring mom all the while he is explaining why certain comfort measures and positive affirmations help mother through her labor. He really inspires the mom and her family in measuring progress and acknowledging their accomplishment as a team to support their loved one through a challenging and rewarding process. Mom feels loved and supported and the family feels they have been a tremendous help to her, all being actively involved and engaged in the birth. Paul is very respectful of the woman's privacy and works within her comfort level. Paul has been an asset to our team in Labor and Delivery. His easy manner and big smile instantly put families at ease. I would recommend Paul to any mother who is seeking Doula services, she will be respected, supported and her family if she chooses will learn how to be involved in her support and comfort as well as understanding the labor process and what is normal.
