Birth Doula
My experience with Danielle was wonderful. She helped to coach me through my anxieties as mother expecting her first child. Danielle was there to answer all my questions, prep my partner and I, help with our birth plan, provide all the support I needed during labor. I cannot express how thankful my partner and I were to have her with us during labor. Labor and post-partum experiences for me were difficult, but Danielle was there for me. She anticipated my needs and check-in with me regularly. She was always positive and encouraging, making me feel valued as a person. I

?Birth Doula?
Everyone needs a DOULA! When we became first time parents there were a lot of emotions and questions about pregnancy, birth, and just the whole process that my husband and I had. Agape Doula Danielle was literally on call for us 24/7 answering questions, helping, and educating us on everything we needed to know and more. She evens comes to your house for wonderful prenatal and postpartum massages!
We can honestly say we personally felt more confident, prepared, and motivated with her by our side to helping bring our first (and 2nd) baby girl in the world. She is just as much here for my husband as she was for me. It has been a blessing to have someone to talk to about not only our overall health, but our mental and emotional health as well; even into the 4th Trimester.
God uses Danielle for some amazing things and we are so blessed she is in our lives. We are so very grateful for you!

During my first pregnancy Danielle gave me the knowledge and encouragement I needed to make my own birth decisions and I will forever be indebted to her for that! She helped me with latching and breastfeeding issues, with all three, and helped me overcome any fears I had about my births! She empowered me to make natural choices before, during and after my births, and beyond! With my third she was there to hold my hand through my worst fears and having her maternal presence, when my own mom couldn’t be there, gave me comfort during that time!
I wouldn’t have had two non medicated natural childbirths without her. I wouldn’t have started using essential oils, wouldn’t be as naturally minded, wouldn’t have nursed all three of my children, especially not my preemie, without her. She even gave me Doctor recommendations when I ran into her at the grocery store when found out that I had cervical cancer. My mental recovery from my surprise c section wouldn’t have been as fast without her either. Danielle was sent from the Lord and I will always be thankful for the role she played in my life! I have also been happy to see her grow into a primary midwife over the years! She’s always thinking of ways she can better serve the women in her community.

?Birth Doula? Danielle is affectionately called a member of our entire family, because when she became my doula for my first child, I felt like she was educating all of us on the process, offering advice and guidance and providing support pre- and post-pregnancy. As a result of her being in my life for all of my child births, I confidently breastfed my children, had support anytime I needed it and became a part of a larger support network for other mommies on similar journeys. She's overqualified to do the job she does in my opinion, but that makes those of us who are blessed by her hands to be all the more fortunate for what she brings to the table. We love Danielle!

Labor and delivery experience:
Our babygirl was born on Jan 26, 2022. Unfortunately, due to the rise of COVID, there was only allowed 1 visitor in the hospital. I sure had hoped both Danielle and my husband could physically be in the room. Because of her teaching, we were well prepared to advocate for ourselves and labor together while in the hospital. Danielle coached us by phone and video. She was instantly available whenever we had questions to make informed decisions or assist when things got more intense. When entering active labor and transition, I started to loose control because the sensations were becoming extremely intense. This moment is what solidifies her always being my doula! She coached me through video. I immediately gained control, confidence, peace and reassurance that it was almost time to meet our daughter. She helped me ride the waves of intense contractions, to gently push, allow my body to do what it was designed to do, and breathe through the contractions. We did it! The hug Danielle gave us at the home visit and the encouraging words of I'm so proud of you both, you do amazing! We are grateful for Danielle and we recommend her to anyone looking for a doula. Thank God for you Danielle!

Prebirth experience:
I first must say Danielle is a Godsend! I learned of her through recommendation from a friend. It took awhile to commit, but eventually I did because of being a first time mama (FTM) and not having a clue of what this journey would in tell. I am so glad that my husband and I invested in Danielle and her expertise, experience and wisdom. She is so personable and attentive.
I am an educator by trade and a student. Education for me is at the top of my list-- knowledge truly is power and empowering. My goal was to learn and understand what is happening physiologically in my body and with my baby, learn God's design, learn how to go through this with the least amount of outside interventions, how to advocate when needed and why, how to cope with labor and birth and eliminate any fears of any preconceived notions I had about having a baby. She supported and coached us to reach those goals and educated us! She helped us understand what is happening physiologically, how to get through the process (comfort measures), what happens typically in Western medicine, what our rights are, what procedures are and why, how to advocate for ourselves, helped us make a personalized plan based on education, emotional support, spiritual support and just so much. She is worth the investment.

FTM, attempted natural labor and delivery in a hospital setting. Would you go to court without a lawyer? A doula is your advocate at the hospital and Danielle is the best out there! Danielle kept me in control of my birth choices. I now remember the birth of my child as the most empowering, raw event of my life, many thanks to her. She is such a knowledgeable doula, and also incredibly personable. And since she’s the most experienced doula in OK, she knew everyone! This, along with her pleasant disposition are very helpful in a hospital setting.
I had planned for a hypnobirth, and Danielle was 100% onboard. I had done so much research on hypnobirthing, but Danielle knew even more and I was able to direct to her all my questions.
She taught me all the ways I can stand up for myself and all the choices that are mine to make but are often ignored in a hospital setting (eg, choosing not to have a hep lock upon admittance, I didn’t want to feel like a patient).
At the hospital, she applied counter pressure throughout all my contractions, and she coached my husband to do the same. I was able to embrace all my contractions without any drugs. I felt so strong and capable with my husband and Danielle by my side.
When complications arose during the birth, Danielle coached me through the best decisions to make, and I delivered a healthy baby girl via caesarean. There is a time and place for modern medicine to intervene (like when I tore my uterus) and together we were humble enough to be able to make the right decision at the right time.
I wholeheartedly recommend Danielle, my husband and I would have felt so helpless at the hospital without her. NO-one could take her place in providing the comforts she provided us during our birth experience. We love you Danielle, with all of our hearts.

I can’t recommend Danielle enough! If you’re on the fence about hiring, I can promise you - she’s worth every penny. She was there for me and my husband through thick and thin. I could count on her to give me her educated opinion, but she was never pushy or made me feel like I had no options. Any questions I had, she was ready to answer and reassured me when I began to doubt myself. Six months later, and we still keep in touch. She helped me achieve all of my birthing and breastfeeding goals. I had a beautiful, all natural birth with her by my side! My husband and I will definitely be hiring her again if we have another baby! Thank you Danielle!

People say kind things to me about my two VBA2C natural hospital labors and deliveries with my sons, but y'all, I am weak without this woman. With her, I can. I just can. She is a rock. She is a light. She is the calm in a storm. She is inspiring. She is powerful. She is everything I need, everything my husband needs, and everything my gigantic babies (9 pounds 13 ounces, and 11 pounds 6 ounces) need during labor. She is a familiar face for nurses at the hospital. She is hands-on in helping my husband support me. She is quick to suggest something new.
With my first labor with Danielle, I "stalled out" at an eight for eight hours. She never wavered. She had my husband looking at information explaining why worry about another csection wasn't necessary. There's a certain kind of trauma when you have seen your body "fail" you twice before. Having someone in the room who trusted your body when you couldn't was so empowering. My doctor believed in me, too, but there was a LONG time between his visits. She was right by my side to remind me my body WAS working.
With my next delivery I pushed a poorly positioned baby for four hours. We pushed in every conceivable position in an effort to get him to turn. over. She was literally my chair for at least one of the pushing positions. Every nurse and doctor who came in my room that night learned something. Every single one. She woke up feeling sore alongside me the next day. She never gave up hope, and never let me give up hope that we would get him turned and down and out. We did. We surprised the room with that chunk. No interventions or medication necessary. My body works.
I trust her and love her with every inch of my person, and my family loves her, too. God uses this woman to do awesome things, and I am proud to know her and love her.

Where to begin, I have had the pleasure of using Danielle's services twice now as a Doula, lactation consultant, and a midwiffery student. She is the most knowledgable person I have ever met in the birthing field. She was with me for my daughters birth at OU hospital and my sons birth at Mercy hosputal. She knows her way around the hospitals and was able to get things for me that I needed such as heated blankets or popsicles, and she is well known with a good amount of the staff at both hospitals. With both my births she was always one step ahead and able to anticipate my needs. With both of my long labors she was a great patient advocte and helped make sure my concerns were met and that I was well informed of any changes that may have occured and any medications that the doctors were wanting to give me. I trusted her opinion during any new decisions I may have had to make. She was very reassuring in that I was doing the best for my baby and me and keeping us both safe. She knew exactly what to say to help me ease through and pain and discomfort I may have had during labor and helped me focus on me and my babies, She was very calm. She got me up and moving to help my labor progress. She is knowledgable about oils during labor. Did I mention she also does prenatal massages. :) My son had trouble latching due to a tongue and lip tie and she recommended the best person to go to and helped us get the perfect latch after his procedure, helping to where breastfeeding was not painful anymore. She has a real gift for helping take care of pregnant mothers, husbands, and babies. She guided my husband on how he could help me during my labor pains and showed him how to do the hip squeeze, and she was there for him to help take over when he needed a break. She included my daughter in all of my checkups with my son. I plan on hiring her for any other births that I may have in the future. I am lucky to have had her and consider her a friend. LET's DOULA THIS!

I am so thankful for my doula and friend, Danielle Lugrand. She was there for us during the birth of our daughter and son. She was very supportive, informative and helpful. She told us all of our options and our second birth experience was even better than the first. My first labor was 29 hours and she was with me the entire time and coached me thru everything. I honestly believe if it had not been for her I would have had to have a c-section because it took so long. I highly recommend Danielle if you need to hire a doula. She gives 150% effort and shows great excellence in all of her work.

Danielle was our doula to help with the birth of our second child, Olive. We interviewed many doulas before my wife and I agreed to hire Danielle. From the minute we met her we knew she would be the one. She has a strong personality coupled with a disarming calmness and demeanor. Danielle has a vast knowledge of helping with pregnancies and was able to answer every question and offer excellent insight. My wife instantly bonded with her. She knew exactly how to direct and reassure my wife the whole way. Then, when the big day came she was right there by the bed coaching and comforting us every step of the way. Danielle is a consummate professional with an endearing heart. If we happen to get pregnant again, Danielle will be one of the first calls we make.

Danielle has delivered both of my children, and is now considered to be part of our family! The depth of knowledge, loving and kind support and care, and 24x7 availability make the pregnancy and labor experience a thousand times less stressful. My favorite memory is when I was recently birthing my daughter, without an epidural, dilated to a 6, and in intense pain. Danielle changed my position into the thone pose, pushed my legs into my hips through a contraction and had the nurse bring me a Popsicle -- I couldn't even feel the contraction after that! Eventually the pain did come back, but Danielle's tenacity and endurance always found a way to make things that much better for me. When I birthed my son, I remember Danielle staying up all night to turn me every 15-20 minutes to keep my labor going, despite the epidural. She even made my husband and my mom take a nap, after giving them snacks from what I call her 'magical bag'! When the doctor came in the check me and realized that there was a small section that wasn't quite dilated, Danielle, mom, and hubby used a 'magic curtain' and a peanut ball to hold me up on all fours -- when the doctor came back, it was time to push!
Danielle's service and knowledge in the industry is truly unmatched. I could tell numerous stories about the awesome massages she can provide, the AMAZING lactation support she gives, and how that all culminates in her passion to follow the Lord no matter what. She's an amazing human being, and she's the BEST at what she does. She truly makes use of the gifts God gave her, and I'm eternally grateful that he placed her in our lives -- I'd never have another kid without her!

I am a childbirth educator who hired Danielle as my doula for the birth of my son in October 2015. She is an amazing doula and was with me every step of the way throughout our journey - an initial pregnancy, miscarriage, subsequent pregnancy, birth and postpartum. She was an integral part of my labor by providing massage, pressure points, affirmations, and involving my children in the labor process. After my son was born at a birth center, a complication required a short, non-emergency trip to the ER. Danielle not only stayed with me, but due to her having a rapport of respect with the hospital staff, we were able to get in and out quickly and reunite me with my son as soon as possible. She did a 2 day postpartum visit and in my home and helped improve my son's latch and also recommended a consultation with a dentist that diagnosed and treated a tongue tie. Without that, our breastfeeding journey could have been cut short. We are 10 months in and going strong! Being a childbirth educator and mother of 4, my standards are quite high for my birth support team, and I hightly recommend Danielle. I invite her so come to each and every series I teach so that my students can meet her as well. She is professional, compassionate, and works tirelessly to improve birth outcomes for mothers and babies in Oklahoma. I recommend her without hesitation!

I recently had the joy of bringing my second child into this world. If I am blessed with a third, I will, if humanly possible have Danielle at that birth, just as she was throughout the entire pregnancy, labor and delivery of my first two. Here are the main things that I feel make my loved doula, Danielle, a must-have if you are pregnant!
1. Her prenatal care is AMAZING. My husband and I loved how she worked with US to help US understand what was going on each step of the way, and how WE could work together towards a healthy labor and birth. She truly understood that there were TWO people having a baby. 2. I benefited first-hand from her extensive training and years of experience in supporting and promoting healthy pregnancies, labors and deliveries. We worked together to achieve a healthy pregnancy using nutrition, exercise, homeopaths, natural alternatives, massage and many other things. She was ALWAYS available to address questions or concerns. Through the use of tens, chiropractic care (she is on a texting basis with almost anyone you could need throughout your pregnancy) and stretches, she helped me almost eliminate hip pain. Close to my estimated due date, we discovered my babies were breech. She helped me work with my body and babies, to turn them from their breech positions and into an optimal position for laboring. 3. Her care during labor will BLOW YOU AWAY! I’ve got about 48 hours of total labor experience with Danielle. With Danielle's help, both of my labors were healthy, calm and satisfying experiences. Sadly, many laboring mothers experience fear or anxiety during labor because they don't understand what their body is doing. Danielle eliminates that and helps you understand each part of the labor and how you can work with your body to achieve pain relief, progression of labor and ultimately a beautiful experience of bringing a precious life into this world. I highly recommend a doula, specifically, Danielle!

I seriously would not give birth without Danielle. We just had her with us at our son's birth, after having had her with us at our daughter's. She has all of the tricks to not only help moms have the birth they want to have, but she also provides support for the husbands and provides many other services like postpartum support, massage, and meals!! She was the perfect addition to our birthing team and I can't stress enough how I do not feel like my deliveries would have went as smoothly without her. She is truly a blessing to our family. We love her!

Danielle has provided doula care for our two children. One was born in 2011 and one recently in 2014. She was actually our first call when we found out we were expecting our second baby!
Danielle is extremely well versed in all aspects of pregnancy and post-partum concerns. Being a mother of 6 and providing doula care for many years, you could probably say she has "seen it all." We view her as our very own childbirth expert. It is so helpful to have someone to discuss various questions or concerns with throughout your pregnancy. It eliminates the need for getting information on your own. If it wasn't for Danielle, I would have had to rely on google searching, which hardly provides comforting information.
We enjoy Danielle because of the wonderful service she provides, plus her fun and warm personality. Combined with this she is very professional and takes her role very seriously. She has a unique ability to read people and troubleshoot that is happening in a given situation. She worked through several bumps in the road with us, before, during and after our births. These issues are not limited to pregnancy and childbirth, she will help with anxiety, in-laws, illness, and the list could go on and on.
We recommended doula services, especially Danielle, to all our pregnant friend no matter the birth they want. It is an invaluable tool to have. Plus, she gives fantastic massages and is a great cook!

Danielle Lugrand is one of my favorite people. She was our doula and friend thru two pregnancies and births. My first birth experience was difficult and long and she stayed awake during the entire experience and fought for me not to have a C-section. She was also very helpful in educating me about how to properly care for myself and my unborn baby during both pregnancies. She was very helpful and informative, supportive and always going the extra mile. She is a competent and encouraging person who has a keen sense of understanding when it comes to pregnant moms and how to help them both before during and after birth. She did an excellent job going above and beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend her.
7/26/2014
My first experience with a doula was with Danielle Lugrand and it was a wonderful experiment. This was my first baby so I didn't have a clue about breastfeeding and Danielle really helped me out a lot. My baby didn't latch that well at first but we had Danielle come over and she worked with me for 3 days straight to get my baby on the right track. I would recommend Danielle to anyone and everyone who's having a baby!

Although I didn't use Danielle as a doula, I received a prenatal massage from her and it was a little piece of heaven!! Since I was full-term, she even touched on some pressure points at my request. I got to experience what a contraction felt like so I could identify them when I went into labor a couple weeks later; so helpful for a first-timer!!
