Catrice is fantastic! She did our birthing and breastfeeding class. I don't think I can stop saying great things about her because she helped my husband and I prepare for any and all possibilities for birth. Catrice answered all of our questions we had during the class and afterwards once we neared our daughter's birth. Afterwards, she has been continuously helpful with troubleshooting breastfeeding and pumping. Thank you again Catrice! Highly recommend.

Catrice helped deliver my third baby in December 2020. My experience in her care was my favorite. I've had a variety of care with my pregnancies. With my first, I was at a birthing center and then was transferred at the end of my labor because of complications. With my second, I had my care through a teaching hospital that had midwives available upon request for delivery. For my third baby I really wanted to deliver him at home. Catrice was so knowledgeable about herbs and natural remedies of all kinds. Whenever I had discomfort throughout my pregnancy she often had a supplement, herbal remedy, or some other natural way of helping me. But most importantly she was always compassionate, encouraging, and supporting each time I talked with her. She never made me feel like she didn't have time for me, even though I know she was busy. She has a very calming demeanor, which helped to create a peaceful environment while I was in labor. She was also very hands on throughout my labor and delivery. While I was in labor I didn't want my cervix checked for dialation because I've had a bad experience with my labor not progressing in the past. However, Catrice was so knowledgeable that at one point she noticed that I had a buldge in my lower back indicating that I was 6-7 cm dilated. She was so kind and caring throughout my time, giving me so much dignity and respect. I would recommend her to anyone wanting a more natural approach.

Catrice was my Doula for my third daughter.
I had a wonderful supportive, strong woman by my side. She brought an ambience of warmth and Peace of mind. She is also very knowledgeable and knew what to do to make things go smoothly.

I recommend her with no hesitation.

My experiences with Catrice Harris have been wonderful. She helped me as a lactation consultant with my second son, and as both a lactation consultant and night nurse/doula with my third son. My husband had to be out of town 2 weeks after the birth of our third son, and Catrice’s support and expertise during those long nights was invaluable! She has an incredible way with children and such a calm, soothing demeanor. I highly recommend her during any stage of childbirth and postpartum.

Catrice helped me to achieve a smooth sailing pregnancy and birth. I couldn’t have asked for a better first-time experience. From the moment I met her I felt so comfortable with her and trusted her to be my doula. I followed all of her instructions (backed by the information she gave me) through my pregnancy that were to help me have a faster and easier labor and birth. And I can confidently say it all worked. She was with me every step of the way always available to answer my questions. I loved working with her and would definitely use her again!

Catrice was a godsend for me! Eva is my first baby. I had moved away from my female cheerleaders and was nervous to have the baby alone.  Eva's dad has an older daughter who was born surgically and he was insistant that I was going to have a c-section - which I did not want at all!  Mid pregnancy I changed care providers from a doctor I wasn't vibing with to the Midwives at Texas Children's.  They recommended a doula and recommended Catrice as their top choice.  Once I connected with her, we started working throgh her process.  Then Eva tried to come really early - I was in the hospital to stop contractions at 33 weeks.  I was released but the contractions never stopped and I was put on bedrest.  Catrice gave a lot of advice and encouraged me to eat and drink things that lessened the strength of the contractions and strengthened my waters.  They worked, Eva was born at 40.5 weeks!  My labor was slow to progress but I was nervous not to make it to the hospital in time since I had been having contractions for so many weeks.  I should have listened to Catrice and stayed at home longer because I was at the hospital for nearly 18 hours before I had Eva.  But Catrice was there with me the ENTIRE time. At some point in the night I sat in the bathtub for 3 hours and she sat on a birth ball next to the tub and helped me through the contractions the whole time (I have no idea how she did it and stayed awake!).  My only complaint is that the training Catrice recommended, Hypnobirthing, taught breathing your baby out without pushing.  But when I was fully dialated she encouraged me to push (which I hadn't learned) since they were worried I was too tired.  Catrice talked me through it but I couldn't shake feeling unprepared and bewildered.  But in the end I feel incredibly lucky to have had her by my side!

Where to begin when sharing how much I love Catrice. She supported my husband and I during my pregnancy and was always, always available to answer any and all questions I have and offer the incredible advice. This was my first pregnancy after trying for many years to get pregnant, and eventaully did fall pregnant with our son with IVF. Catrice knew how precious this time was for us and was such a geniune, kind presence during my entire pregnancy.

On the day I went into labor, Catrice was available all day to talk to me and reassure me everything was ok. When I began to get nervous in the afternoon when I had no idea what to expect, she came over to check on us. When she saw I was still in early labor, she went to rest, and so did I. As I transitioned into active labor, Catrice was there by my side the entire time. There was not a moment I didn't feel supported, loved, or encouraged. She provided me with all the tools I needed to find the strength in me to have the natural delivery I had prayed for and planned. She knew of endless positions for me to get in to help with contractions and massaged my back through every single one. I have no idea what oils she used, but they also calmed me and gave me the confidence that I was ok and I could do it.

When it was time to go to the hospital to deliver my son, she was respectful to the hospital staff and at the same time knew when to speak up for me. She was right by my side during the entire delivery and was also an awesome support for my husband. After my son's birth, she stayed with us a short while, and then left us for family time. My husband and I adore Catrice and are beyond thankful she was at the birth of our son.

She was created to do this work, it's very clear that this is Catrice's gift- to nurture women, families, and bring babies into this world peacrfully and full of love.

Catrice was an amazing doula. She traveled to our home to offer classes to help us prepare for labor. She was flexible and worked with our schedule. She has great connects with other serviceproviders, such as chiropractors that we were able to use. She is very knowledgeable, caring, and fun. I had a difficult labor and she was there every step of the way. Catrice allowed my husband to be there by my side, while she handled some stressful encounters from the hospital staff. She stayed positive and encouraged me during a time I didn't know if I were strong enough to do it. I'm blessed to have met and worked with Catrice. She's an overall good person, that cares for her clients.

We met Catrice as our childbirthing instructor and were considering hiring a doula. My initial plan was to have an epidural but, after going through the pro's and con's with Catrice and my husband, we decided (as a team) that I would try to go natural as far and long as possible. From the beginning, Catrice was great in visiting us for our prenatal consultations. Throughout the number of twists and turns in my pregnancy, during which we thought we might need a c-section due to medical issues, Catrice was there supporting me and helping us make the best out of the situation. Fortunately, I did not need a c-section at the end but needed to be induced with pitocin. With Catrice's help, I managed to get through the labor without pain assistance even though the pitocin-induced contractions were quite strong! Through understanding the principles of releasing endorphins from my hynobirthing class to Catrice's calming support (she helped me breathe/relax through the contractions and provided aromatherapy and massage), by the time I thought I might need an epidural, I was already in my final hour of labor! Also, I was fortunate enough to have a short active labor of approx. 6 hours. I attribute this to Catrice's advice to eat lots of dates during the third trimester.

Ultimately, I would not have been able to get through a natural birth without Catrice's help. I am so thankful that we were able to do this and for her support. Given all the breastfeeding issues I had encountered postpartum (due to baby's tongue tie), I could not imagine having had a birth with even more medical intervention, as that would probably have meant even more breastfeeding issues. I am very happy and proud of my birth experience and couldn't recommend a better doula.

Ms. Catrice Harris was one of the most dependable, nurturing, and competent professionals I've ever had the pleasure of working with during my pregnancies. I found her to be very knowledgeable and confident in her field as well as being punctual and providing many opportunities for me to ask questions so that I could be as prepared and secure as possible before giving birth. I found her experience and background in lactation consulting to be a great asset coupled with her expertise as a doula. I have actually yet to meet another doula with her level of experience and training in both areas and that makes her a rare and exceptional individual in her line of work. I recommend her whenever I have the opportunity and look forward to working with her if we decide to expand our family in the future.

Hiring Catrice as our doula was one of the best decisions we made in preparing for the baby.  We attended her childbirthing class before hiring her so we could get to know her.  We met her and knew she would be perfect.  She is calm, supportive, reassuring ahd helpful in every way.  She met with us twice before delivery and was always available to answer questions we had.  During labor and delivery, she helped support me and my husband with several techniques, encouraged us and informed us when situations arose.  We already have decided that when we decide to have another child, we will hire her again.  We recommend her to all our friends and family and can't say enough positive things about her.  After birth, she was also our lactation consultant.  She calle d to check on me while still in the hospital and came a few times to the house to troubleshoot, answer questions and overcome difficulties.  She also made herself available to answer phone calls and texts.  Catrice is amazing and you will not regret using her as your doula.

Catrice was a God-Sent angel. Having a doula was something my husband & I agreed would be good for us. She supported my husband & I through the pregnancy, labor and the natural, unmedicated delivery of our daughter. Working with Catrice was such a blessing. She has such a peaceful spirit and a true passion for what she does. During our pregnancy, Catrice did an excellent job educating my husband & I on the birthing process, what to expect during labor, breastfeeding, etc. She was always available to address any questions or concerns that we had as the big day came near. We also found her very resourceful and a good sounding board/advocate relating to medical discussions, alternatives & lactation support / techniques. I always felt as though I had someone who is knowledgable & experienced enough to suggest alternatives or reassure me that the best decision has been made. During my labor, Catrice's presence and coaching kept me calm, focused and my labor progressing. I would highly recommend Catrice as a doula and lactation consultant for anyone desiring a trusting, knowledgable professional to support and advocate for them during one of the most precious journeys this life has to offer. Catrice will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Catrice is such a strong asset to have as a doula. She is extremely polite and easy to talk to throughout

the pregnancy and childbirth process. I appreciated all the information she shared with me during the prenatal time and what a strong person she is during the childbirth process. Just the sound of her voice is so reassuring and she maintains such composure. I highly recomend her as a doula.

When I first considered using a doula to help me with my childbirth experience, I wasn’t sure of what I wanted or what my plan was going to be. Did I want a natural childbirth? Could I handle it? Would I need an epidural? I had heard so many horror stories about childbirth, and I with it being my first pregnancy, I didn’t know how I personally would react to the experience. I was full of questions and that’s where Catrice stepped in and helped me understand the process of a natural childbirth and helped to put my mind at ease and helped me decide that a natural birth was the right decision for our family.

Not only did she meet with us several times leading up to the birth, she gave us a tour of the hospital to help me feel more at ease when “go time” actually came around (I’m very type-A and knowing what to expected helped me a ton!).

When the time came for our little girl to arrive, I can honestly say that our birth went almost completely to plan and we are so happy with our experience. Catrice played a critical role to help educate us, relax me during labor, and coach me through each contraction. She was absolutely pivotal in reminding me of what I wanted (a natural childbirth), and she really helped to ensure that the nurses were also following our birth plan as closely as possible.

I would recommend Catrice to anyone who is considering a natural childbirth, because without her I would not have gotten through the birthing process as we had hoped.

We initially were not thinking to hire a doula, but as 1st-time parents wanting a natural childbirth at the hospital, we decided we needed the additional support. We did some research, interviewing 3 doulas and checked pricing. In the end, we decided on Catrice and it was the best decision we could've made! My husband and I both strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. We really believe that God brought us together and He had us meet Catrice during our very last class at the Women's hospital so that she could help us bring our son into this world!

Without going into all the details of our son's birth...Catrice met us 2x prior to our due date. She normally meets more often, but we were close to our due date and we had already taken all the classes offered at the hospital. She was always available for questions and was VERY responsive by text and e-mail. Once I started early labor, one day before my due date, we contacted Catrice and she directed us on what do to. She kept in touch with us all day and checked on me. She came to our home later that evening once labor had progressed. Catrice has a very calm and pleasant personality and also has a very soothing voice. She supported me through each contraction. She was also able to check the baby's heart rate after my water had finally broken, so that we wouldn't want to rush to the hospital in a panic. Once the contractions were close enough and the pressure wasn't letting up, we went to the hospital and I was 9.5cm dilated! I had to push for three more hours after that, but Catrice was there coaching me and helping us try different positions. She also visited us on our 2nd day in the hospital and again a few days after we came home from the hospital. She helped to make sure he was latching properly and address all my questions. Long after that, she was still very helpful and responsive by text and email. It's evident that she loves what she does. We would definitely ask for her help again!
