Hello, friends! I’m Sara-Rene, part time L&D nurse and birth doula. As a montrice doula, I am able to help parents labor at home for as long as possible while ensuring the safety of both mom and baby. I am clinically trained to assess baby’s heart rate, vital signs of laboring mom, and perform cervical exams as requested. I work with you and your partner to help ensure the most positive birth experience possible. It is my mission in life to help parents welcome their sweet babies while feeling empowered through labor and birth. I have years of experience in both the hospital and home birth setting, medicated and unmedicated. I have a special passion for VBAC moms as well since my first two children were born via cesarean followed by three successful, unmedicated vaginal deliveries. I help educate with both evidence based research and experience, we will review birth preferences, and I will provide both physical and emotional support during labor, birth, and postpartum.

I am very thankful for Sara because she guided my husband and me through the entire preparation for birth. She taught my husband how he could support me on the day of labor, which was incredibly helpful. I was especially grateful for her presence during my labor, she helped me feel supported through every moment.

I went into the hospital feeling vulnerable and unsure, but having someone as knowledgeable as Sara by my side put me at ease. She was proactive, attentive, and helped me through each step of the process with so much care.

Even after the birth, she came to our home to check on us, which meant a lot. I truly recommend Sara to everyone. She will take care of you with love, guidance, and genuine compassion.

Sara Rene was incredibly kind, supportive and went above and beyond to ensure my family has the most positive birth experience possible. She met with my family on multiple occasions during pregnancy to plan and prepare for the birth of my third baby. She attended appointments with my care team to ensure we all worked together. She actively listened, took notes and prepared the ideal birth plan based on my desires in our meetings together. As we got closer and new information arose requiring a change of plans, she was available and helped me prepare for all of the changes thrown at us. During labor she was incredibly active in helping comfort me, helped me get into better positions that would help move baby where it needed to be, and made sure to open the lines of communication with the nurses to advocate for my wants. She also took time to explain what the doctors and nurses were wanting to do, helping provide the information to make the best decisions. She documented everything for me to remember the special day. She was always on stand by in those last days and I never worried if she would be able to make it.

Key things we found to be the most helpful were : her assistance in planning and coping with changes directed by the doctors, moving in labor and her advisement of positioning to move the baby where it needed to be, support and pain management, explanations of what is going on and helping us fully understand before making a decision on care

Out of all three births, this last one with Sara Rene’s help was by far the best experience and if I have another baby she will be my first call!

Where do I even begin? Hiring Sara Rene was the best decision my husband and I made in bringing our daughter into the world.

From the moment I met her, she was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. Throughout my pregnancy she checked in on me frequently, came for home visits, and made sure I always felt heard and prepared.

When I went into labor, she arrived to my home shortly after I notified her. She spent hours supporting me, pushing on my back through contractions, prepping emesis bags, handing me a labor comb, and continuously uplifting me when the pain was intense. And she did all of this while pregnant herself, never once letting that affect the exceptional care she provided.

She rode with us to the hospital and never left my side, not that entire night or the following day. She and my husband took turns applying counter pressure on my hips. She set up the room with space lights (I work for NASA so that thoughtful touch meant a lot). Because of her, my environment felt protected, calm, and empowering.

She educated me on how to advocate for myself and kept me moving throughout labor. Shower, tub, standing, squatting, every position imaginable. She helped set everything up perfectly every time. Her background as a labor and delivery nurse was incredibly reassuring, and she stayed with us even after our baby was born to ensure we were both doing well.

From the moment she walked through my door until after delivery, she was by my side for 15 hours straight.

I would not change a thing about my birth experience and it is because of Sara Rene. She continued checking on us postpartum and even visited at home to help us settle in.

I cannot recommend her enough. She is truly one of a kind and we are so thankful she was part of our daughter’s birth story.

I cannot recommend Sara enough! From the very beginning, she brought warmth, professionalism, and a sense of calm that made me feel instantly supported. As a former labor and delivery nurse myself, I carried a lot of anxiety about interventions and the possibility of another C-section. Having a VBAC was incredibly important to me, and Sara gave me the confidence, tools, and support I needed to achieve that goal.

Her prenatal sessions were empowering and prepared both me and my husband for every possibility. She not only helped me feel strong and ready but also gave my husband the language and confidence to support me throughout labor in the most meaningful way. Our connection as a couple grew so much closer through this process, which was an unexpected and beautiful gift.

During labor, Sara was exactly what we needed—calm, steady, knowledgeable, and always attuned to our wishes. She gently advocated for us when needed and made sure our voices were heard. She also captured incredible photos and videos of our delivery that we will cherish forever.

What impressed us most was her dedication. Even in her own third trimester, she showed up for us in the early hours of the morning, stayed with me after birth so I wouldn’t be alone, and held our son so my husband could be with our daughter in the NICU. That kind of commitment is rare, and it meant the world to us.

This birth was completely transformative for me. It healed me in ways I didn’t even realize I needed, and I credit so much of that to Sara’s presence and support. She is not just a doula—she is a true gift to the families she serves.

I had an amazing labor and delivery with Sara as my doula. I was very nervous as I was expecting to have a baby on the bigger side, but Sara was very reassuring in my birth plan and helped me and husband stay prepared as this was our first child. During labor and delivery, Sara was with me every step of the way and made sure that I had everything that I needed (including the best staff). With her help, I was able to successfully accomplish my birth plan as seamlessly as possible. I would definitely recommend her to anyone in need of a doula!
