Post a testimonial for Leila Walker

10/10 recommend! Leila is everything you want in a doula & so much more. Calm, confident, intelligent, supportive, understanding, an advocate, & positive energy. We met Leila during our birth class & asked her to join our team late in the pregnancy game when we were told we would need an induction at 37wks instead of a natural birth. While this situation was scary & unexpected, she provided a sense of calm & confidence at that moment. From then on, she provided us with resources to think through before the birth, & met with us to discuss our plan. During the L&D process, we could not have asked for a better support system from start to finish. From phone calls in the morning prior to getting to the hospital to advocating for us taking time to discuss as a family prior to each decision, Leila was there for us. During labor, there was never a time where we were asking, “what should we try next?”. Leila had a calculated, but relaxed & not rushed plan for us at each step in the process. Every new station the baby was in came with new positions, stretches, & exercises to continue to move in the right direction. The level of communication was extremely beneficial from Leila to us, & from her to the hospital staff was helpful too. While the hospital staff is extremely willing to help, they are not in the room the entire time. With Leila, you have a coach with you the whole time guiding you through every step. The best thing about her is that she truly listens to your needs and wants before delivery day, & follows that all the way through. She truly makes the process individualized. When needed she is able to adjust WITH you, not for you. It is a true team with Leila. As first time parents, we could not be happier with the services she provided us. If you are contemplating getting a doula or not, work with Leila, you won’t regret it!

We are beyond grateful to have had Leila’s incredible support for the birth of our baby. As a first time mom, I had a lot of nerves and uncertainty about pregnancy, labor, and the immediate postpartum experience. Leila welcomed my questions without judgement, offered resources and wisdom to help me understand my options, and helped me feel confident in the decisions I made throughout pregnancy and labor.
Most importantly, Leila made me feel supported, strong, and well cared for throughout my labor experience, often in ways I would have never even known to ask for. From providing the best words of encouragement, offering hip squeezes and other comfort measures, and just being a positive presence, Leila’s support enabled me to feel profoundly present to the experience (something I was really hoping for in my labor). Her guidance and coaching also supported my husband to be fully present to me, and I felt like I had a partner during a truly transformative experience.
I cannot recommend Leila enough. She is a true gift.

We absolutely loved working with Leila as our doula!! Leila’s warm demeanor made me feel at ease instantly and like we had been friends for years. I really appreciated her non judgmental and supportive nature. As a FTM I was not sure if I wanted to work with a doula at first since I planned to have an epidural and had the impression that most moms with doulas did not. Leila helped me understand how she could aid in our birth experience and affirmed the choices we made. During labor, she helped me get into different positions to help things progress and provided support to my husband too. From the prenatal visits to postnatal she was a joy to work with!! We will definitely be staying in touch.

Leila was great to work with as our doula, and we can confidently recommend her to other families. From the very beginning, she was warm, grounded, and incredibly supportive. She took the time to really get to know us, understand our hopes, and help us feel prepared. She even brought my older daughter a book as a gift, which was above and beyond.
When my labor unfolded much more quickly than anyone expected and turned into an accidental home birth, I was able to use some of the techniques and tools Leila had practiced with us during our prenatal visits, even though she walked in at the same time as the firefighters and paramedics arrived due to my daughter's hasty arrival. Leila's presence in the chaotic moments after the birth as they moved us into the ambulance and in the hospital afterward brought calm and reassurance. She adapted seamlessly to the unexpected circumstances to provide exactly the support we needed in the moment. Even in the intensity and surprise of it all, she helped us feel safe, cared for, and confident.
We are so grateful for her steady guidance throughout pregnancy and for the remarkable support she offered during our fast and unexpected birth. Having her with us was truly invaluable.

I am so grateful to had Leila as my doula. Leila brought such a calming, genuine, and comforting energy into my pregnancy journey. I was honestly scared of labor before hiring her, but having her by my side completely changed that. She made me feel safe and knowledgeable.
During labor, she was everything I hoped for and so much more. She advocated for me without hesitation, made sure I always had water, and helped me reposition whenever I needed comfort or progress. She was fully present with me—not just physically, but emotionally. I felt heard. I felt supported. I felt held. That kind of support is priceless.
Throughout pregnancy, she shared resources that helped prepare me not only for birth but also for postpartum, which made such a difference. And after I delivered, she came to meet with us and did a full debrief of the labor. That experience meant so much to me—being able to talk through everything with someone who truly cared and understood what I went through. Honestly, all providers should offer something like that. It helped me process and appreciate my birth in a deeper way.
Because of her, I had a beautiful labor experience—one that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I truly owe so much of that to her presence, her knowledge, her kindness, and her heart. She was more than a doula to me; she was an anchor, a guide, and a source of strength during one of the most vulnerable and powerful moments of my life.
I will forever be grateful. Anyone who has the chance to have her as their doula is incredibly lucky.

Leila was amazing to work with! She was so helpful and encouraging through my labor and delivery. She was great at knowing how to help me labor and gave recommendations that I would not have thought of on my own. My husband as well so grateful for Leila's support! Her upbeat personality was such a help during labor and delivery. We felt like we had made a new friend when Leila left! I would definitely hire Leila again!!!
