We absolutely loved our experience working with Clara. Clara attended our homebirth as a doula and photographer. I felt so great about adding Clara to our team from our first phone call. Clara is extremely experienced and professional. As a midwife myself, I have worked alongside many doulas over the years and have never crossed paths with a doula as skilled and seasoned as Clara. Clara took breathtaking photos during our birth and I will cherish them for a lifetime. Clara's care is thorough, responsive, and trauma-informed. I will always remember Clara's presence and sensitivity during my labor and immediate postpartum. We loved having Clara come for postpartum visits as well. She was willing to help us out around the house, hold the baby when I needed a break, and did some bodywork for me. As someone who did a lot of preparation work for labor and birth, and was very intentional about building my team, I feel I absolutely made the right decision in adding Clara as a doula and photographer to my team. I think every family could benefit from having Clara on their team despite birth plans or birth location.

I don't think we could've had the incredible birth of our rainbow baby without Clara! She was always easily available via text or phone leading up to birth, very informative and evidence-based. Whenever plans changed, she was able to pivot easily and become our biggest cheerleader – something I really wanted in a doula. We're so thankful for her supportive care and would recommend her to anyone looking for doula support! Also her podcast & Instagram informational resources are invaluable to anyone not in her service area!

I cannot say enough good things about working with Clara!!!

What sets Clara apart is her non-judgmental attitude towards whatever choices you want during your pregnancy and birth. She truly wants everyone to have the birth experience they want and helps them get there step by step.

Clara really helped me understand my options, choose what was best for me, and then helped advocate for me (and helped me advocate for myself) in the hospital.

My birth ended up nothing as I imagined. Clara supported my husband and me both over the phone then in person (for over 12 hours) through an induction, long labor and c section.

Originally I was told I couldn’t meet my baby during the c section due to staffing, but Clara spoke with the medical team and was allowed to come into the room and hold my baby so I could meet him immediately. That’s an experience I would never have gotten without Clara on my team.

Her support truly made a huge difference in my experience and I’m forever grateful for her presence!

I would 1000% recommend Clara as a doula. She supported us through the birth of our first daughter and was a truly integral part of our birth team. Clara is knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. She brings this immense sense of calm to the birth environment and it was a gift to have her join us in our birth experience.

I cannot speak highly enough of Clara! She is such a calming and uplifting  presence. Her approach includes evidence base research as well as the holistic approach which was the perfect balance. She helped give me the knowledge and mental preparation I needed to feel confident going into our birth. I felt so at peace heading into labor, knowing we had her in our corner. It allowed me to be fully present in myself and the moment knowing she was there. I told her when we met that my goal was to not use the word “trauma” to describe my birth story. What I couldn’t even imagine at that time is that I would end up describing it as “beautiful”.

We also had Clara take birth photos during the labor and delivery. If you are on the fence—DO IT! She captured the most beautiful and special moments that I couldn’t have even fathomed before seeing them. My husband said he liked our birth photos more than our wedding photos! :) We will cherish these forever.

We are so grateful to have been connected with Clara and to have worked with her as our doula for my first pregnancy and birth. Clara’s approach is a perfect blend of evidence-based and holistic practice which really resonated with my husband and I. Our pre-labor sessions and the resources Clara provided were extremely helpful in getting both physically and mentally prepared for labor. When my labor and delivery didn’t quite go as planned (as is often the case) I felt confident in my decision making to change course because we had done that mental prep work.

In addition to being an expert resource, Clara is also a lovely and warm person and having her in the room with us provided a huge comfort and sense of calm that we really leaned on in difficult moments. We both felt so comfortable with her and are so grateful we had her by our sides. We cannot recommend her highly enough!

Clara is hands down the most incredible Doula I have ever worked with and met. She is World Class in her professionalism, capabilities and experience and also such a warm person who provides the perfect comfort and resources one needs for birth plans and preparation. 

This was my second birth, and I was unsure if I would work with a Doula again but last minute decided that it would be worth considering because I had given birth 4 years before and wanted more support. I am so happy I trusted my gut. I got Clara's full package including birth classes and photography (+ Reiki which I added on) and I'd recommend this for anyone considering Clara. 

The online classes and videos she has are incredible self-paced resources and refreshers that my husband and I could view on our own timeline, which was very helpful for our work. In our in-person sessions were so productive. In the first session we reviewed birth plans and mantras and in the second session, with my husband, we practiced birth positions. The Reiki work was so great - especially as I was having some physical discomforts twoard the end of my pregnancy. 

The birth itself went well and Clara played a BIG part of this. I am over 35, had polyhydramnios and my baby ended up being over 9 pounds - all factors that lead to higher rates of Cesearean or interventions (nothing wrong with it!) - but something I wanted to avoid for a fast recovery. Clara was at my side the whole time helping me in positions to get my baby to move down stations. Clara was my push coach and when I didn't think I could push anymore, she motivated me to keep going (to avoid a vacuum). When my baby was crowning she asked the doctor if we could slow things down to prevent tearing. The nurses came back after delivery to comment on how incredible Clara is! I couldn't agree more.

The birth photography was also so beautiful and we were beyond happy to have the moments captured.

Clara was the best addition to our birth team and I cannot recommend her enough. From the moment we chatted with her, I knew she would bring the best energy to our birth and she absolutely did. We are second time parents, and she tailored our pre-natal visits accordingly - what stood out to me was how she focused on learning our communication styles. We lived out of state with our first child, so she was very helpful at helping us find resources in our community as well as sharing her knowledge of the hospital where I gave birth. I went quite a bit past my due date and she helped us navigate the non stress tests and decision process to be induced. With Clara’s support I went into my birth empowered and in touch with my body and soul, and had the best birth experience. Additionally Clara took photos during our birth - she did an incredible job balancing the commitment to catch the best shots while also being present for us and I know I will cherish having those memories recorded. I would recommend her for any expecting parents without hesitation.

Clara was everything we could have asked for in a Doula and birth partner and more. Pre-birth visits were great and thorough, birth went so well with her guiding us and post-birth was more of the same just outstanding care. Her advocacy for my wife and a new child was over and beyond and her support of me the birther's partner was so calming and reassuring. During a time in life when you need a steady hand to guide through the chaos of such a huge life change, Clara was the perfect person to have with us along the way.

I am so glad we hired Clara to be our doula! We are second time parents and did not have a doula with our first. Clara was very supportive throughout my pregnancy and saved me a lot of confusion and Google searching by providing evidence-based answers to questions I had. She really helped us think through all the options we had available to us during pregnancy and birth to make sure we were informed and enthusiastic about every choice we made. She did a fantastic job advocating for me during labor to follow my birth plan as closely as we could and provided support to both me and my husband during labor. Clara also took photos for us during birth - she beautifully captured all the moments I requested as well as some great candid shots. I could not be happier that I met Clara and had her support during this pregnancy/birth. Working with her is the best decision I made during this pregnancy, and I would highly recommend her as both a doula and birth photographer.

Clara is truly amazing. I don’t have enough words to express how grateful I am for her. From the moment we started working together, she brought such a calming, grounding energy that carried me through pregnancy, labor, and the early postpartum days.

We are first time parents and wanted a doula to help us prepare for the birth and navigate labor. I immediately liked Clara and her evidence-based approach from our first chat, and we were so happy with our choice. The prenatal sessions were really helpful on what to expect and think about before the birth. As for the actual birth, Clara was a huge factor in having such a positive experience - she was a great support to both me and my husband, and I can't imagine having done it without her. She was amazing about setting the atmosphere, suggesting positions to labor in, and keeping me aware of what to expect next. We will definitely be calling Clara again for our next baby!

Clara was an absolutely exceptional support system for both my husband and I during the prenatal period as well as during birth. Her gentle, compassionate, and informed approaches to everything really put our mind (and hearts) at ease. Words fall short in expressing my gratitude for the love, care and compassion that Clara showed me as she helped me through my second pregnancy. I highly recommend Clara as a doula and her child birth classes. When I was pregnant with my first baby, I had had very little experience with children and exposure to childbirth except for scenes and tropes from movies and media. It was so comforting and empowering to have Clara by my side, helping me to find the evidence-based information that I needed so I could make the decisions I wanted to concerning my birth experience. Her coursework also delved a lot into the emotional, and spiritual preparation of having a baby, which was something I didn't realize would be so useful going into this huge life transition. Clara conducts herself in a friendly and very professional manner and I felt safe and comfortable with her at all times -- not to mention we had a ton of fun together as well. When it can time for my daughter to be welcomed into this world, I felt strong, empowered and in control, despite the fact that there were complications with her birth. Clara supported me, my partner, my sister (who was also present at the birth), and my daughter amazingly well and I recommend her services to any expecting parent!

My wife and I feel fortunate that we were able to work with Clara during the process of having our daughter. Clara's support for us in the journey from pre-birth, during our time in the hospital, and then post-partum was invaluable.
Clara set us up for success early on in the process with the physical, emotional, and mental elements of going through childbirth and becoming parents. Then having Clara as our advocate in the hospital took a tremendous weight off our shoulders. Frankly, after the birth when we were at home, Clara was like a member of our family - helping get us through what is certainly an emotional and overwhelming experience (as we were first time parents).

Sometimes you meet someone who has found their calling, and Clara has found hers as a doula! Clara supported us with the birth of our second child. She was incredibly supportive via text as we waited, and waited, for the arrival of baby #2. I was presenting signs of preeclampsia and was induced. I was disappointed, but accepted it as a necessity and remained hopeful that I could avoid the number of interventions I had with my first birth. When Clara arrived at the hospital, she brought comfort and positivity, which got me in the right headspace. When baby’s heart rate started dipping with contractions, I was required to be on monitoring, preventing me from walking around and limited my coping with contractions. When preeclampsia became more severe, hospital staff proposed a number of interventions. At this point I became fearful, sad and frustrated. Clara was able to give me the framework and encouragement to work through these negative emotions. She guided me through an emotional release and my labor started progressing again. Clara found positions that worked with the limitations presented by the continuous monitoring. In the end, I was able to give birth without an epidural or the use of pitocin, which were my top priorities for my second birth. I’m still amazed that it worked out so well because, when things started getting rough, I really thought it would never happen. And, truly, I don’t think it would have without Clara’s help! From my husband’s perspective, Clara’s support, vigilance and communication gave him space to comfort me and to fully participate in the emotional moments leading to and after delivering our daughter. Clara has great energy; she’s positive, confident, kind and worked very well with the hospital staff. She’s a wealth of birth knowledge and her tips and guidance made it possible for me to have a great birth. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to other families.
