Amelia was our postpartum doula for our first child. Going into our time together, I wanted to be a support to my partner, but as the non-birthing partner, I wasn't quite sure what shape my role(s) would take. Amelia came in with both practical and emotional help. Practically, she gave helpful insight and feedback on breastfeeding technique, carrying our new daughter in a baby-wrap carrier, and bottle-feeding/bottle-care.

Emotionally, Amelia made it a point for both of us to share the birth story, separately. I really appreciated this, because it helped me process moments of the birth story where I was nervous, excited, uncertain, and it also fostered new dialogue between myself and my partner.

Amelia is a non-anxious presence who desires to celebrate new life and strengthen the family bonds. As the non-birthing, non-nursing partner, she helped me identify things to look for and ways to help that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to see. She also provided foundational assistance to household tasks (washing dishes, laundry, vacuuming) that allowed both my partner and I to rest, shower, take a walk, get some air, etc.

I can't recommend Amelia enough. She's someone who takes her role seriously, but she approaches it with joy and intention. She's a delight to have around, and we're so grateful she's part of our family's story. Also, she gives incredible recommendations for newborn books.

Thank you, Amelia!

Amelia's calm assuring presence guided my family and I through a challenging postpartum with unwavering support and encouragement.

My baby had jaundice and difficulty breastfeeding which was a lot to manage on its own, not to mention trying to keep track of my 18month old toddler. Amelia's services were critical as my husband had to return to work after two weeks of leave and I was still in the thick of appointments, sleep deprived and triple feeding. Then amidst our breastfeeding stuggles my baby had reflux and colic which left me drained and emotional. Amelia would come over early in the morning and baby wear my infant while making the toddler breakfast so I could go back to sleep and that was a game changer.

She supported my breastfeeding journey immensely and seamlessly helped me take care of both children while also assisting with household work. Whether it was cooking my family a meal or making sure I was staying hydrated or washing endless loads of barfey laundry she did all of her work with excellence. The love and true passion she has for her work is felt throughout. Her experience and knowledge were beneficial in so many ways while never making me feel bad or judged for things I didn't know.

Even more then the physical help she provides, she has a super power for listening and being empathetic to the mental and emotional struggles of postpartum as well. When my brain was foggy and descions felt impossible She triaged tasks and made a plan for the day to make sure all the important things were accomplished and prioritized my rest.

I hope to use her services for any subsequent births I have because her support is invaluable. She loves and takes care of each baby like they are her own and she supports each family member with a wealth of kindness and compassion.

Amelia was so amazing to work with. I assumed that a postpartum doula was primarily concerned for the newborn baby, but Amelia prioritized my own personal mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing while also helping me care for my baby, my five year old and also my home. She lightened the load of motherhood during an especially vulnerable and overwhelming season and I am so thankful for the time I had with her. She has such a calming presence, she's a good listener, and a hard worker. My older daughter especially enjoyed playing with her and looked forward to her visits just as much as I did! And for a long time, she was the only person I trusted to care for our medically complicated baby. I highly recommend Amelia for any postpartum help!
