Tashana was exactly what my husband and I needed during our delivery. Hands down. 

My husband and I had our first baby this past July. She was 4 weeks early and I had to have an emergency induction due to severe preeclampsia. Needless to say, my delivery was not what we had planned for, or wanted. Many things impacted my ability to have the delivery I wanted, but I was able to go unmedicated. Tashana helped me achieve exactly that. Given that our little one was early, my husband and I thought we had more time to prepare for what to expect. Unfortunately, we went into this blind and scared. Tashana helped coach us the entire time. She molded how to breathe effectively without being strenuous on me, positions that helped alleviate pain and pressure, showed my husband how to give counter pressure, advocated for us regarding specific aspects of the actual delivery, my choice to go unmedicated, and made sure I was as comfortable as I could be. We enjoyed her presence and would recommend recruiting Tashana for your birth experience!

Having Tashana as a postpartum doula was super helpful! She was very supportive with chores around the house and helping us watch our older kiddo. She is also an amazing cook and helped us with processing and making some food! We highly recommend her as a postpartum doula and enjoyed her warm presence!

I’m so grateful for Tashana! She was incredibly thoughtful, calm, and reassuring during such a challenging time. My newborn was struggling with colic and reflux and crying for much of the day, and her gentle, laid-back presence made such a difference. She cared for my baby with so much patience and confidence that I could finally relax and breathe. It was such a comfort knowing my little one was in such good hands. I truly can’t recommend her enough.

Being that Tallulah was our first birth, we didn't entirely know what to expect in the delivery room. We prepared the best we could and did our research, but there was no way we could've anticipated the experience.

Having a doula will make your birthing experience much more enjoyable - I do not hesitate to emphasize this to my friends who are going through the process. Tashana will help advocate for your needs, help you feel confident at all phases with knowledge (35+ deliveries!), and will check in with you emotionally and physically to keep you encouraged. Without her, Heather might not have had the strength to push through a 14 hour labor without pain medication. By 6am after having dry-heaving through stress, a shift change from the nurses and having to fight the urge not to push baby too early... Having Tashana available to help guide us cut the stress in half.

Simply put, expect the unexpected your delivery - ask for Tashana Mithen. She has a vibrant career ahead of her and belongs in this profession.

After a very complicated home birth C-section with my first child 7 years prior and a long health history myself, my partner and I reluctantly made our decesion to try for a VBAC in hospital with our second. In order to make our hospital birth as beautiful, meaningful and intimate as home birth could be we were going to need some really special support and chose Tashana as our birth doula. I have met a rare few people in my life that have the gift that Tashana does for reaching out to hold another from such a deep intuitive space of knowing support. In helping plan our birth she knew just when to provide guidance and when to flow with our ideas and help us to best articulate them. Her profound compassion and radiant warm energy was exactly what I needed holding my hand in the birth suite. Tashana advocated so eloquently for me, guided us breath by breath through the fear and plot twists of the birth and harmonized our whole birth team to help us have what, even my midwife agreed, was one of the most beautiful hospital births we’ve ever experienced. The bliss of our baby’s birth has carried on like a beautiful ripple effect on his still serene personality. We are so grateful to have Tashana to help us land a dream we weren’t sure was possible- we’ll always share this connection from such a powerful moment, we love you Tashana!!

Tashana was a wonderful calming presence during my birth process. She was always willing to jump in and help anywhere she was needed and eager to learn and ask questions if something was new to her. She was so kind and responsive to my needs and made me feel so comfortable. She was a true blessing to me and my husband. She helped him to stay calm and focused on helping me through my experience. She truely was an intricate part of my birth experience and i am so thankful for her.
