I had the best experience with Elena as an overnight doula in the first two months of my sons life. Hiring her was the best thing I did for my own physical and mental health. She came two nights a week for the first two months. While she was with us her primary job was to care for our son - she brought him to me to breastfeed, and then would collect him to take care of diapering, soothing, and helping him stay asleep. While I was breastfeeding she did our laundry and cleaned our kitchen. Getting this help in the early days of postpartum helped me immensely, I wish everyone could have an Elena in the tender first days of motherhood. She has a soft and nurturing presence, and I never felt like I had to host her in our space.

The main question I asked myself when looking for a doula was who can I trust with my baby? Elena is the answer. You know she will treat her baby like her own, she is easy to trust and rely on. She is a great listener and makes sure our preferences were heard and respected. She communicated well and was clear about expectations. She was gentle and kind and let us sleep easy knowing she was caring for our newborn.

The next question was how can this person help me save the most precious resource in the newborn phase - time? Elena was reliable and always on time, flexible with scheduling/rescheduling. She came in at night ready to take over so we could sleep. She would help with whatever needed doing: laundry/tidying/bottle preparation/bottle washing and even made delicious meals and brought in some lactation tea. She hung out with our toddler so we could rest. She would come to the door with a smile and ready to listen to whatever troubles came up. Generally she was the type of person you want to see at the end of a long day and did everything she could to make our lives easier and give us some time back.

She also attended my planned caesarean birth and took photos of the birth, took detailed notes about the timeline and the birth story, and told me stories as they began surgery to keep my mind off what was happening behind the curtain. Even though it was planned and much shorter than an unplanned c-section, she was able to take care of all the admin tasks and help me just focus on the new baby.

Elena is amazing, give yourself the gift of her help.

I had a wonderful experience with Elena. She was incredibly helpful, providing great tips and resources that were invaluable as a first-time mom. Her calming presence and knowledge made me feel more confident in caring for my newborn. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for compassionate and professional support!
