I started looking into doulas local to Sooke: Lauren was the first name I found and reached out to. She offered a video intro call and it was an instant connection. After our first conversation, she felt like an old friend to me.
Lauren was an active support to me throughout my pregnancy as a wealth of knowledge and endless compassion. I didn’t know it at the time, but I was on a quest to trust my body again- Lauren held a lantern for me to find the way. She illuminated the vision I saw for myself and my family with my birth; uncovering my fears and finding my values around what that would look like for me/ us. She helped me shift past some mental blocks around transfer to hospital from a home birth with a somatic session in my last trimester. She encouraged me to trust that my baby knew when to be born, especially passing my due date again and reminded me that my body was doing everything needed. I felt held and heard with every check in along the way… I truly feel I got the birth I always wanted and with the possibility of renting a birthing pool from Lauren when other providers were all booked up. On the day of my birth, she kept me on track with the logistics and upon her arrival was exactly the calming presence I needed by my side to foster safety. She offered different tools and comfort measures that were on rotation, quietly and unwaveringly supporting me to meet the waves of my labour. Additionally she knew exactly how to give space for my partner to empower us together. To top it all off, her postpartum visit and exchanges always felt like a warm hug. Lauren gifted me with photos and videos from my birth that I will get to revisit in the happiest of tears!
I can’t imagine the whole journey without her and would tell any mother- new or experienced- they would be lucky to snag Lauren as their doula. She’s the real deal!

From the moment I met Lauren, I felt like I was talking to a dear friend. I immediately felt comfortable and supported as we explored topics like matrescence, boundary work, and partner dynamics after having a child. Our conversations became a lifeline for me during a particularly complicated postpartum period. I felt safe enough to leave my baby for a few hours to attend much-needed pelvic floor physiotherapy and other aftercare, thanks to Lauren’s nursing background. It was truly a privilege to be held by someone so passionate, knowledgeable, and kind.

I'll start by saying this....Lauren is an absolute earth angel ?? I hired Lauren to be our doula for my second baby that was being born out of hospital at our midwives cottage/property. Lauren held amazing space for me and my family throughout the entire pregnancy, always checking in and going over my labour/delivery wishes with me and making sure we were feeling comfortable and if we had any questions or concerns or simply how she could best support us. During my labour/delivery she supported me so beautifully, it's actually hard to put into words. She made me feel strong, held/supported, cared for and so loved. She held my hand, rubbed my back, supported my partner and talked me through some really hard moments. After our little one was born, we very unexpectedly had to be transferred to the hospital as our baby needed some extra care. It was a whirlwind and very emotionally and mentally traumatic few days after that while our baby was in the NICU and Lauren stood by us the entire time, making sure we were getting the support we needed while at the hospital. She was always bringing us food, coffee, making sure we were getting some rest and always being there to hold space and listen when we needed it. I honestly do not know how I could have made it through my pregnancy, labour/delivery and all that was to come after, without Lauren's support. Not to mention, once we were all back home she was there by our sides then too. Making sure we were settling in at home, tidying our place, bringing us food, and overall making sure we were wholly supported and cared for. I would HIGHLY recommend Lauren to anyone looking for a doula and all around badass woman to support them through the journey of pregnancy, labour/delivery and the intense transformation from maiden to motherhood ?

I can’t express enough how grateful I am for Lauren’s doula services. From the moment I decided to hire her around 34 weeks, I knew I had made the right decision—even though I hadn’t originally planned on having a doula at all. Her calming presence and unwavering support truly transformed my birth experience. Despite my birth plan not going as expected, Lauren ensured that I never felt judged or unsupported. Instead, I felt empowered, heard, and completely taken care of every step of the way. The pre-birth materials she provided were incredibly helpful in preparing me for labor, giving me the confidence and knowledge I needed. Initially, I only planned to hire her for the birth, but when some health challenges arose, I knew I needed her support postpartum as well. Looking back, that was one of the best decisions I made. Her guidance during those early days with my baby was invaluable, and I felt so comforted knowing I could trust her completely. Some may view doula services as a luxury, but to me, it’s an essential part of the support a mother needs in her postpartum journey. For my next baby, I will absolutely be planning to have Lauren’s postpartum services from the very beginning. If I have one regret, it’s that I didn’t hire Lauren sooner. If you’re considering hiring a doula, I wholeheartedly recommend her. She made an immeasurable difference during one of the most important and vulnerable moments of my life.
