Volunteer at Carenet, Volunteer Doula, WARM (Washington Alliance for Responsible Midwifery) Member, staff doula at Saint Joe's Midwifery Birth Center.
My goal as a doula is to help you clarify what it is that you envision your birth and postpartum time to be and help you achieve that through planning, education, and connection. Finding a team that cares for and respects you through the incredible journey to parenthood is the golden ticket to a good birth and postpartum period. I have had a wide variety of doula and personal birth experiences ranging from homebirth, birth center, hospital, induction, pain management, and c-sections. I also have experience with twin doula support and gave birth to my own set of twins. I have been trained in the Spinning Babies method which helps ensure baby is in the optimal position for birth. I will be on-call 24/7 beginning at 37 weeks for birth work. I have scholarships available for financial need and can also take HSA and FSA payment. I work with Carrot clients and private insurance clients for both postpartum and birth doula services.

We had a great experience with Jordan as our doula. We had actually hired another doula (Jordan was her backup), but had been connected to Jordan via text before our birth so that we had each other's info and everything. When I finally went into labor, our doula wasn't able to make it, as it was a very fast labor (less than two hours total), but Jordan was there for us the moment we reached out. She headed straight our way and made it to the birth center with perfect timing. Even though it was my first time actually meeting Jordan during the end stages of labor, she was a super calming presence in the room with us right away. She captured the most beautiful images of my water birth that I will treasure forever! And was so helpful to me in the time after I gave birth, ensuring I had everything I needed and really looking out for my well-being. As a third-time mom, I truly appreciate that Jordan was able to gauge my needs and let me do my thing during birth, while being a calm and supportive presence for me. Her follow-up Zoom call (as we live a decent distance from one another) was perfect and very helpful in chatting through my birth experience and things that could be helpful for me postpartum, such as pelvic floor pt, bloodwork to check after 6 weeks, and exercise options to ease back into. I would highly recommend her to a first-time mama or an experienced mama who would like the extra support, "just in case" you may need it. She is wonderful!

Thank you so much Jordan for being such a compassionate, knowledgeable and supportive member of our birth team! Jordan went above and beyond during our three days of labor, making a couple trips to visit us at home and helping us figure out our options in the moment (plus advocating for those options in conversations with our healthcare team). Even during the prepartum meetings, she came prepared with tools for us to talk over our birth plan and loaned us books to help us get ready for the big day. After each meeting, we always felt more prepared around big topics like pain management as well as the little things like where to park. During labor, Jordan was doing so many small things to support me so that I could be as present as possible for my wife. Even when we were exhausted and struggling with motivation, she was there providing a calm consistent and motivating presence. We appreciated her thoughtfulness throughout this wild journey and wish her the best!

Let me start by saying...I was in labor for nearly 50 hours. Most of it active...
And Jordan made ALL the difference throughout that process. My husband and I genuinely cannot imagine having gone through labor and delivery without her. From a planned home birth, to a hospital transfer, and over the span of 3 days...she supported us through every moment. She prayed for us. She encouraged us. She helps us keep our peace and remain focused on the end goal- our sweet, healthy baby boy.
Ultimately, Jordan feels like family and we simply cannot wait for baby #2 and to get to work with her again.

What a blessing Jordan was to our family during my pregnancy, the birth and after delivery of our daughter. My pregnancy was considered high risk for a few reasons and Jordan was amazing at helping us navigate our options, easing my concerns and providing recommendations for care providers she has had experience with. Meeting with her prior to delivery helped me to relax and feel well informed about my options during delivery. Jordan was there through the delivery process, and her peaceful and friendly presence meant so much to me and my husband. We knew we had an advocate throughout the process who would help us understand any decisions and help us try for the birth plan we had prepared beforehand. When we had to deviate from our birth plan she was wonderful in helping us to adjust, make decisions and remain calm. More than just an advocate and resource it felt like having a friend there with you at the birth. My husband and I could not imagine how the experience would have been without her help through the process and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for additional support for your pregnancy and birth.

Jordan was my birth and postpartum doula, and I’m so glad I had her by my side for pregnancy, birth and postpartum! She helped me prepare for labor, coached me through every step, and showed me ways to manage the pain. She made my birthing process so much better than I could have ever imagined!
After the birth, she supported me for two months with both day and overnight shifts. The overnight care was amazing. I was able to actually rest, knowing my baby was in good hands & safe with someone I trusted. She was so kind, calm & caring, and she made me feel supported in every decision I made! She really went out of her way to set me up for success
Jordan is truly great at what she does. She’s knowledgeable, comforting, and completely dedicated to the families she works with. I always felt heard, respected, and cared for. I’d 1000% recommend Jordan for any individuals or families needing support during their pregnancy and postpartum journey. Thank you so much Jordan!!

We love Jordan! Jordan has the best energy - calm, peaceful, confident, supportive - and is incredibly knowledgeable! She let us read some of her favorite birth books and we LOVED her resources she provides that included birth and postpartum information and a birth plan to bring to the hospital. She also gave us some affirmations that I read every night! The meetings before the birth helped us to feel confident and informed!
Jordan was so responsive! We would send texts in the middle of the night and she would respond within minutes! When active labor began she met us at our house and helped us know when to go to the hospital! She helped provide such a beautiful, peaceful environment in the hospital room and was an incredible advocate throughout the process. She knew my birth plan and really helped that happen. There were several things that came up at the hospital that deviated from my birth plan and she made sure that I knew that I had a choice, the risks and benefits, and other options before making any decisions. I absolutely needed that voice of reason when I was in the middle of labor! She had all the labor support tools so I didn't have to even worry about that! She helped with counter pressure, suggesting positions and different coping strategies, and really helped me and my husband (and my mom!) feel grounded and comforted! The cherry on top were the photos! Jordan captured the experience so beautifully with incredible pictures! They really are such a treasure for us! The meeting after the birth was so fun to talk through the birth and really digest the whole experience! I had such a wonderful birth experience and so much of it was from Jordan's help making sure I was prepared mentally and physically before birth, being an incredible support and advocate during birth, and still a friend after birth! Jordan is incredible and her support was invaluable. I can't recommend her more!

I contacted Jordan when I was entering the last month of pregnancy. She responded fast and we set up a virtual meet and greet. From the moment we started the meeting, I felt an ease and confidence with Jordan. She was able to take us on as clients and we set up our in person class. Jordan presented thoughtful, organized, and thorough material to help us prepare for labor and birth.
When labor started she was a steady source of motivation and helped guide my husband on how to best support me. Her bag of tricks (i.e. TENS unit, honey sticks, combs, nausea stick, etc) was so helpful. Not only did Jordan help physically support me during delivery, she also found moments to take photos, capturing beautiful memories for us.
This was our first baby and we experienced a few stressful events during delivery. Jordan was an incredible support and ensured I had everything I needed.
Should we decide to have additional children, Jordan will be one of the first we call so we can have her support again.
We love you, Jordan!!!

I hired Jordan as our doula for my 3rd pregnancy. I had never had a doula before and knew from previous experiences of giving birth in the hopsital that I wanted a support person to advocate for what I wanted and needed during labor and delivery. From the pregnancy meetings, she was attentive to our needs and desires. She listened to me and gave information on topics I was interested in and advice when asked for. Towards the end of my pregnacy Jordan greatly helped me with the fears I was having with going over due and deciding whether or not to induce labor.
My third labor, at 41 weeks 5 days, ended up being a difficult and long labor, but having Jordan by my side made all the difference. Jordan's kindness, confidence, calm demeanor, and knowledge helped me deliver my son in the way that I wanted. In the hospital she helped with labor postitions and pain management with contractions to help my labor progress. Her postivity and joy was such a blessing to me and my husband. Even though it was an intense experience she laughed with us and cared for us so well. We loved having her with us. She helped us process our emotions after the birth and regularly checked in with me postpartum. I don't think you could find a better doula than Jordan.

Choosing Jordan as our doula to help us through the process of growing and delivering our first baby was the best choice. She is exceptionally kind, very responsive, eager to help with anything you need and never made any of my questions as a first time mom feel dumb. She provided text/phone support in the months leading up to delivery as well as a couple in person meetings that helped my husband get to know her and feel comfortable as well. If she didn't have the answer to something, she quickly went to her resources and got one. We feel that Jordan went above and beyond our expectations and by the end she felt like a friend. If you want to work with a doula that feels like hangingy out with your cool older sister then she is the perfect fit. Our favorite thing was the post partum visit she did where she came by to check on us after we had some time at home with baby and was there to offer support, advice, help, and just general friendship-like kindness. We look forward to hiring her again for our second baby :) thank you Jordan!

I am so grateful for the incredible support Jordan provided during L&D and postpartum! She is knowledgeable, calm, compassionate, and incredibly sweet.
Even though my husband and I attended birth preparation classes, we learned so much more about our options through her prenatal visit. Jordan guided us in creating our birth plan and thoroughly explained the labor and delivery processes, helping us understand the decisions we needed to make. After each visit, our anxiety levels decreased significantly.
I had gestational diabetes and hoped to start labor spontaneously before my scheduled induction date. Jordan introduced me to natural remedies and activities to encourage labor. I tried everything she suggested, and to our delight, my water broke naturally, allowing labor to begin before the due date!
During labor and delivery, Jordan ensured I was comfortable, well-hydrated, and supported throughout the process. In addition to her invaluable support during delivery, she captured beautiful photos of the moment our baby was born, which we cherish and love looking back on. Thanks to her, my first birth experience was a positive one!
Postpartum was incredibly challenging as new parents, but having Jordan visit a few times a week was a lifesaver. I could rest while she cared for our baby and prepared meals for us. She taught us essential skills like bathing, swaddling, trimming nails, and properly securing the baby in a car seat. Breastfeeding was tough, but her knowledge and encouragement motivated me to continue. She was always patient, kind, and thoughtful, especially when I struggled emotionally with the baby blues.
Additionally, my husband’s employer had Carrot Fertility benefits. We were able to have Jordan’s services for L&D and Post-Partum (up to 6 weeks) reimbursed 100%. Even without this reimbursement benefit, we would absolutely seek her services again for any future babies!

I had an amazing first birth with Jordan's support. She came to our home to meet with us before my due date and provided really helpful information and helped us make decisions about what we wanted for the birth and for our infant. She even sent me additional resources and shared her experience to help us make the best informed decisions. I chose to have a completely natural birth and I wanted it to feel really peaceful- it was that exactly! Jordan was such a huge part in empowering me, keeping me comfortable during the birth, and helping to keep the peaceful envirionment that I wanted. She also came to visit us postpartum and at the time I was really struggling with a fussy baby and trouble with breastfeeding. Having Jordan come visit for a few hours was so encouraging to me that day. She has lots of personal and professional experience to share, and she just has a really comforting presence. We are so grateful for her amazing help and support in bringing our perfect baby girl into the world in such a beautiful way.

I cannot recommend Jordan enough. She so faithfully walked alongside my husband and I through every step of the birth of our first child. She helped prepare us for what to come, supported us with a firm but gentle hand during labor, and helped us process a tough birth and postpartum period. I cannot say enough about how grateful we are to her. She's an honorary member of our family and a treasure to know.

Hiring Jordan as my birth Doula was one of the best decisions I made. The last month of my pregnancy was tough as I got admitted into the hospital at 35 weeks. We thought the baby would come and Jordan promptly reached the hospital to help me. I got discharged and the baby came 2 weeks later. Throughout those 2 weeks, Jordan was constantly available to help and support me through the prodromal labor. She helped me prepare mentally for labor, taught me the miles circuit and prepared a birth plan with me. Before this process, i didn’t know how many different decisions I would have to make during the birth journey. She walked me through the pros and cons of each and empowered me to make decisions.
When I went back into the hospital 2 weeks later, Jordan was there promptly at the hospital. Once my bag of water was broken, the labor really picked up. I wouldn’t have been able to get through the next 4 hours if it weren’t for her. With her help, I kept trying different methods to labor in. There were times when I was hugging her and holding onto her since it was so painful. I asked for an epidural but the anesthesiologist got pulled into surgery. She gave me the strength and support to deliver the baby naturally without pain medicine. When it came to pushing, Jordan and I had worked through some ways earlier that I had wanted to try. The doctor wanted me to do something different (that wouldn’t been more convenient for him and worse for me). I was in too much pain to react and she stood up to the doctor and made sure we went with the approach that was best suited for me.
Jordan constantly looked out for my best interest and supported me through the entire prolonged 2 week labor. Till this day, my husband and I reflect and think about how tough it would’ve been if Jordan hadn’t been there to support us.

We couldn’t have asked for a more incredible birth experience, and it’s all thanks to Jordan. From the very beginning, she was there for us every step of the way, offering unwavering support, compassion, and wisdom. She took the time to truly understand our preferences, fears, and hopes, and her calming presence during labor made all the difference.
Throughout the journey, Jordan provided us with practical guidance and emotional reassurance that helped us feel prepared and empowered. During labor, she anticipated our needs even before we did, offering comfort measures, encouraging words, and a steady calm that kept us grounded. We truly couldn’t have done it without her!
If you're looking for someone who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and entirely dedicated to your experience, then Jordan is the perfect doula for you. She made our birth experience positive, memorable, and even joyful, and we feel so grateful to have had her by our side. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a birth doula who will go above and beyond.

I highly recommend having Jordan as your doula. Our experience with Jordan was 11/10; she was magic.
Jordan makes everything easy. She listened to what my husband and I were each hoping for in our birth experience and helped us get there! We learned so much from her to truly understand all our options, to really make welcoming our little one what we wanted. We had a lot of questions and Jordan answered every question we had without fail, with both honesty and reassurance. If she didn’t already know the answer from her wealth of experience, she would find the answer and always follow up. No question was ever too big, small or silly; we always felt comfortable asking her.
Jordan goes above and beyond. From arranging to stay nearby so that she wouldn’t miss a thing when our due date came to sending exercises to prep for labor to helping us post partum, Jordan has become someone we trust wholeheartedly. We count ourselves very lucky to have her in our corner and will definitely call her if we are expecting again!

I'm very thankful to have had Jordan with me during labor and delivery. She was calm, encouraging and helpful throughout the process, and fun to talk to. She helped me breathe through the contractions and made sure I had all the water I needed. I especially appreciated her praying for me before she left, and checking up on me in the weeks after I gave birth. We loved having her visit us and were blessed by her generosity to our whole family.

The morning of April 21st, 2024, after spending 2 weeks on bed rest at St. Joseph's & being induced, I woke up & told my nurse, "I'm tired of being in bed. I don't want to lay down all day, can we do some stretching or exercises to speed this up." Luckily for me, Jordan was volunteering that day, so my nurse grabbed her & we got to work. We went from laying on my back, to side ways, & doing step ups . I did everything she asked, because I truly believe in Jordan from the second I met her. We started at about 10am & took a break for lunch & hopped back into it. I can admit that the doctor did discourage me when he told me last nights Dr measured my cervix wrong & I wasn't actually at a 6, I was at a 4. They also continued to threaten me with getting a c-section at the end of the day. With that being said, Jordan stuck by my side & adviced me through it all.
Despite being discouraged, we continued to work on speeding up the delivery. (Did I mention my goal was to try to make it through without an epidural? I told Jordan this from the beginning & she coached me through the pain & process.) By 3:30pm I started feeling the stronger contraction & by 4:45pm I pushed out my baby.
My baby was taken down to the NICU & Jordan stuck by my side as my husband went with our baby. Through it all, Jordan was everything I needed: empowering, experienced, nurturing & reassuring. She waited with me until we got moved to recovery, helped me with using the pump, & gave me a couple of resources.
We were in the NICU for about 23 days & Jordan went out of her way to go see my son a couple times & continues to check in to see how we are doing ! Jordan has a special place in our hearts & I 1000x recommend her to anyone & everyone !

To whom it may concern
I want to talk about my experience having my baby at ST Joseph hospital, with help and support from Jordan Cota. It was very nice thing to see her when came to my room and offered her help and support, she is a person who lives the moment with you and fills with courage to move forward when you can no longer, apart from the fact that she has many suggestions and is a woman full of experience, she definitely knows what she is doing. I am very grateful to her for all her help!! Without her I don't know what I would have done. Thank God and her for being there that day at that moment.
I definitely want her to be with me in the future when I have my next baby. oh even help and support my sister and every woman that I know, totally recommended, she is the best. Thank you very much.
Jordan Cota.
