We hired Janelle to help us with the birth of our 4th baby and 3rd unmedicated birth. I believe that every birth can benefit from the presence of a doula but especially for every mom who plans to go unmedicated - whether it is your first, fourth or tenth. And I cannot say enough good things about Janelle as a doula!

I felt heard and understood from our initial meeting. She really took the time to understand my previous birth experiences and was attentive to my hopes for this birth, including what I expected/needed from her. When I was in labor, she came to my house and helped with positions that could encourage things to move along. Because of her help, this was my fastest labor, which I was SO thankful for. She was hands on at the hospital and encouraging when I needed it. I even appreciated that she kept a time log of my labor that she shared with me afterwards because my memory was a bit fuzzy from “labor land”. I was also so thankful to have a fellow believer as a doula. She put together a playlist full of worship songs for me to listen to and prayed with me when she could see I needed it.

Janelle was an invaluable addition to my birth team. She was hands on, attentive and a calming but confident presence. Forever grateful for her!

I have nothing but good things to say about Janelle.  Thank you for everything you did to help me be engaged and support my wife in her birth. So much of what I did to help her and work through our first natural birth was just mirroring the example that you set. You helped us know that everything we were going through was totally normal and provided direction, guidance, and confidence throughout the whole process. Looking back, we would have felt so lost and overwhelmed without your support and I am so thankful that we were able to have you alongside us.

Janelle was a major blessing to my husband and I as she was by our side through my delivery of our first son. She truly listened to what my husband and I wanted and stood up for me during delivery when my midwife made me feel uncapapable of going fully natural. Janelle was interactive throughout my whole 31 hours of labor and even came to my apartment early on to coach me through contractions. She was so helpful of suggesting differen movments/postions when I was in pain. She was a calming presense throughout everything. She quickly became a friend to us and we couldn't recceomnd her enough! ??

Janelle was a wonderful help and support to me throughout my labor and delivery. She arrived quickly so she was right by my side as soon as I needed her. She was cheerful and excited about the day! She arrived well-prepared and ready for anything! She helped me make decisions when I became weary and beyond caring anymore. She was strong, confident, supportive, and gave me the courage I lacked when fear and the pain overwhelmed me. She helped me cope by rubbing my back to help me relax through contractions; she held my hand so I never felt alone; she spoke words of reassurance faithfully over and over again such as, "This is good, it's bringing your baby!" ..."Don't be afraid, God is helping you"..."Jesus made your body to do this"..."Relax your jaw"..."Keep your voice low"... Janelle's presence was truly a blessing to both my husband and I on that hard, yet special day of our daughter's birth.
