Angela was the sweetest, most caring, supportive and reassuring person that I could have asked for during my birth experience! She came to me as a back up doula while I was in labor when my original doula was with another client. But the way she came in so seamlessly and effectively, it made me feel like we had known each other already. I was struggling at home with my husband and had pubic symphosis pain during the entire labor so I couldn't find any comfortable positions or ways to cope. Angela stepped right in and helped me into new positions, offered physical pressure and support where I needed it and guided my husband on how to best help me. She stayed so calm and kept reassuring me and encouraging me which was so needed! Whenever the pain was too intense she would gently remind me on breathing and coping techniques and bring my focus back to that. She prayed over us and made sure she was with me every step of the way from laboring at home, to driving to and then at the hospital. She stayed by my side and made sure to keep track of everything the staff and nurses were doing to help best ensure my birth wishes were respected. She also asked questions and clarified for me when something was about to happen and I needed that extra communication so it was extremely helpful to me! I know my labor would not have been as smooth or tolerable -since I did it natural with no interventions/medications- without Angela's help and guidance. She stayed with us in the hospital until I was comfortable and settled after birthing my daughter and made sure my husband and I were ok before she left. I highly reccomend Angela to be your doula and you will be in the best hands possible! And even though it was a bit chaotic with her coming in last minute to fill in, she still managed to take some precious pictures and videos for us! She also followed up with a visit the next day at the hospital and then a couple weeks after to help process and go through my birth story.

I hired Angela as my doula for the birth of my second son, a birth I was hoping to be (and ultimately was!) a VBAC. From the initial in-home meetings through to the big day, she brought the perfect mix of calming energy and informed confidence to all of our conversations. She indulged every one of my questions or concerns with an evidence-based approach. As it always goes, nothing about my birth went to plan (lol) - it was fast and I didn't have time to get an epidural, and Angela knew that I was scared and overwhelmed and she was by my side every second of it. Calming me, empowering me, advocating for me and holding space for my body and for my husband, who was just as shocked by the speed of it as I was. Ultimately I was able to get my VBAC and my precious golden hour with my boy, and that is a HUGE thank you to Angela's support through prenatal care, labor and delivery. Giving birth with the support of a doula is a pretty beautiful experience because you'll always be linked to them as someone who witnessed one of the best moments of your life. I would highly recommend working with her, especially if you're pursuing a VBAC (which can be challenging to navigate in the medical system.)

Angela is an angel. I have never had any experience with a doula and I was on my 5th child. I was shocked at how much I learned from her before the birth. She helped me adjust my nutrition and suggested prenatal vitamins that helped get my blood work in order. She taught be details about labor prior to labor that helped me understand why the doctors and nurses were telling me to do things when I went into labor. With her recommendations, armed with new mental images and information + strategic exercises and stretches this labor ended up being one of my best experiences. I felt confident knowing what was happening and the suggestions she made were spot on in keeping labor going and seeing it through successfully to the end. I can't recommend Angela's post-natal help  enough. Her help enabled me to rest, she kept things in the house going and spent time with our 15mo old - feeding and helping him adjust to the new baby. I've had new babies come into the family and the transition can be rough when they loose the attention and navigate the huge transition of a new baby. I think our 15mo old hardly noticed the transition because he was so well cared for. Angela cooked amazing food, she made food for the baby and made sure I rested and ate healthy food. I've never had a smoother postpartum. I believe it sped up my recovery because I didn't walk through the door needing to hit the ground running. Her personality in the home is so pleasant. She is very attentive to the needs of the family and adapts to what they need. She's so good at helping mom's figure out what they need and then meeting the needs. If you dont have lots of family that can come stay with you for a while after the baby and know how to help - this will be a GAME CHANGER. I wish i would have known about doulas years ago! Reading books and watching videos just doesn't compare with hands on and personal care.
