The best decision I could have made!

As a first time mom, I was terrified of labor as I didn’t know what to expect. Kristen and I met several times before I had my baby and we worked through many things together to prepare me for the big day. She helped me create a birth plan, answered so many questions, and taught me several techniques.

Laboring through the night was the very hardest thing I’ve ever done and she was by my side the entire time. She helped me breathe through each and every contraction up until my epidural. I was in such a zone with her I actually asked her to stay with me as I got my epidural rather than my husband. She was by my side the entire labor and delivery which wasn’t until the next day and actually held my legs for the entire 4 hours it took me to push! Soon after my baby was born she ran to get me my very first postpartum meal which was a giant deli sub I had been waiting 9+ months for.

Knowing she was there to coach me through everything the doctors suggested I do, and advocate for me and the plan her and I created was the biggest relief and blessing. Especially during a time where I was not able to think straight, it was so comforting to know you have someone speaking and advocating on your behalf. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

If I decide to have another baby one day, I could never imagine doing it without Kristen as she played such a critical role in my daughters birth story

I can't recommend Kristen enough! She was amazing during the birth of my first. She was communicative throughout the pregnancy and made sure she knew what was happening. When I had a question and needed some reassurance on a decision she went out of her way to provide the reassurance. While being admitted I had people in and out of the room for over an hour, because Kristen hadn't heard anything she took the initiative and was already on the road. Because of this she arrived at the perfect time. She is a real asset during delivery and makes a point to check in after the birth as well.

Kristen was such a blessing for our pregnancy and birth! She is a sweet and caring doula and even prayed with us. She is on time and present when she meets with you. She provided an informative workbook that helped me and my husband understand the birth process and how to address any fears/concerns we might have, and helped with forming a birth plan. She was available when I had outside questions and provided a decent amount of resources on physical and emotional prep for birth. During birth she arrived to the hospital only 10 minutes after us and was ready to address staff as needed. She knew my wishes for unmedicated and physiological birth- but is knowledgeable in C-section as well. Kristen allowed me to birth according to my instincts and also offered position suggestions for pain management. Having her help allowed my husband to be more hands on and attentive to the birth rather than trying to talk to staff! My only complaint would be that I wish I had more face to face interaction, and text message check ins regarding the “prep work” for birth. Overall we are so thankful for her being a part of our pregnancy and birth!

As a determined woman focused on her career path, my pregnancy came unplanned and at a time that I was not ready. However, after a lot of self reflecting, I decided that I wanted to make a change in my life and have a child... even if it meant doing it alone. It wasn’t until my hospital tourat that I realized I needed someone by my side to help me achieve my dream of a natural birth.

When searching I came across Doula Match. Unfortunately, a financial bump had occurred in my life and I could no longer continue with their services. Shortly after deciding to part ways, I was notified that Kristen Vetter was willing to step up and take me on as a client and work with my needs!

Kristen helped prepare me for the unexpected and unknown. As much research as I did on my own, she also wanted me to focus on the beauty of bringing new life into this world no matter which way they came. She was always there to answer any questions I had along with sent me additional information to review.

When the day came, Kristen showed up and helped me labor through the night at my house. My contractions were all over the place, but she trusted me and my body. She took me to the hospital and when checking in we were surprised to find out I wasn’t very far along, however, I ended up progressing very quickly. A moment came when I found myself wanting to give in and receive medication and she stood by and supported me… fortunately, my son wanted to be in the world right away and natural was the way he came. Even then, if it wasn’t for all of Kristen’s help to prepare for this moment and her methods to keep me calm, I wouldn’t have been able to tell my inspiring and amazing birth story to everyone.

I’m still so thankful and grateful for Kristen being by my side during my son’s birth and just supporting me as a woman and mother!! I was very blessed to have her as my Doula!

My husband and I worked with Kristen in preparation for the birth of our first child and had a wonderful experience. Kristen has a calm, assuring and caring way about her that put us at ease and made it clear that we wanted her support during the birthing and delivery process.

Kristen facilitated two pre-birth sessions at our home where we went over birthing preferences, stages of labor and many other resources that she tailored to our circumstances and needs. She was available by text and phone to answer questions and consult throughout my pregnancy.

We are very grateful to have had Kristen with us during the birth of our daughter as well. She talked us through options and decisions for working through early contractions at home and in deciding when to go to the hospital. She was a warm and assuring presence during many hours of labor and provided physical support like counter pressure and massage to aid in my comfort during laboring.

Kristen also came for a postpartum visit and brought delicious stew, and personal care items and debriefed with us about the labor experience.

We can't recommend Kristen enough to expecting families looking for an educated and empathetic teammate and companion for the birthing process.
