I hired Joslin as a first time mom looking for guidance on pregnancy and child birth from a doula. Joslin was incredibly supportive from the very first meeting all the way until my postpartum experience. Her knowledge and reassurance during my pregnancy was exactly what I needed. She was always responsive despite working all hours of the day as a doula. When my third trimester hit I had unexpected severe sciatica pain. She recommended I see a local PT who was able to correct the pain in a matter of weeks. 

During my child birth process she was extremely supportive and helpful. When I went into labor she was able to guide me on when to go in to the hospital. I was able to labor at home as long as possible thanks to her. I don't know what I would have done without her in labor. Joslin's tools and support made everything as smooth as possible. When I was ready to give up, her reassurance got my through to meeting my daughter without a C section. She's the best! Whether your a first time mom or just a mom looking for more support, Joslin is an amazing doula to hire.

Joslin was a phenomenal doula. She advocated for me when I didn't want a certain medication. She took photos during my delivery. When my baby emergently went to the nicu unexpectedly she was able to go many times to get me an update. I went into a hypertensive crisis post delivery and was unable to go to the nicu right away. Her updates were such a blessing. She even dragged the neonatologist to my room to update me. All of her efforts were so appreciated. I would recommend her a thousand times over.

My experience with Joslin was amazing. She really catered the experience to what I needed. We worked together for my third pregnancy/ birth. It was my first time using a doula and my goal was to give birth without an epidural. It was the perfect balance of support in my medical decisions and goals. I had an induction at 40 weeks, and Joslin even stopped to bring me wild flowers for my room the morning we went in. She set up my room with my love and let me have some time to settle in with my husband. The minute things picked up she was right at my side on hands and knees (on a mat on the floor) helping me reach my goal. Shortly after I was snuggling my wild haired beauty on her due date. I couldn't say enough wonderful things!

I will forever be grateful to Joslin for her guidance and support. After years of trying for a baby, when I finally got pregnant I had felt anxious about all the things that could go wrong, all that went away as soon as Joslin became part of our journey. Throughout the pregnancy she gave me the knowledge and confidence to feel excited and joyful about birth instead of scared. She empowered us to make our own decisions and clearly explained all options with zero judgment. Joslin was integral during the actual birth and I cannot imagine what our experience would have been without her. She guided me and my partner throughout the long labor and delivery, her support and the trust that we had built allowed me to feel calm and to confidently advocate for myself and my baby. I’m so proud of, and thankful for, the birth experience I was able to have. I wish every person giving birth could have a Joslin.

It was so wonderful working with Joslin as one of our doulas. Joslin is calm, kind, and so knowledgable about all things labor, pregnancy, and birth. She was a great resource throughout the pregnancy whenever I had a question or a concern I wanted to discuss. During my time at the hospital she was also so supportive and helped me navigate through some really tough moments. She never missed a beat and it felt reassuring to both me and my husband to have her in our corner. Even postpartum she always had a helpful suggestion or insight whenever I had a question. If you're considering Joslin to be your doula I would highly recommend her, I wouldn't hesitate to work with her again!

Lawren and Joslin were exceptional doulas, providing invaluable support during an exciting yet also tender and vulnerable time in our lives. Despite the array of emotions they encountered, they effortlessly connected with us, creating a bond that made the journey so much more manageable. Their perspectives and knowledge were instrumental in forming a much-needed support network for us. My husband and I interviewed many doulas and ultimately hired Joslin and a partner doula who were the right fit for us and a very dynamic duo. Whether it was in preparation, at the hospital, or postpartum – Joslin provided guidance, support, and love every step of the way. Joslin is a licensed clinical social worker which definitely guides how she approaches her work as a doula. She is grounded and has a calming presence that helped me center myself in several challenging moments in labor and delivery and beyond.  When I told people at the hospital that Joslin was my doula it was like I name dropped a celebrity and it opened doors for us. Her knowledge of how hospitals operate was invaluable. I happened to deliver at a time when the hospital had more than twice as many people in active labor than they were equipped to handle.

An example of what working with Joslin was like that I can share - I ultimately had a belly birth and when I was recovering in the PACU the hospital staff were extremely overstretched. I had sent my husband to go meet our baby and in that moment having Joslin with me was everything. She worked the hospital staff and got me everything I needed, it was pure advocacy in a moment where I couldn’t advocate for myself – the essence of being a doula.

And then in postpartum when I realized I had birth trauma and was grieving some of the moments I had envisioned in birth that didn’t ultimately go as expected, Joslin was exactly who I needed. I can’t imagine going through the perinatal period again without her.

Joslin was the most incredible support person in the room for the birth of my son, I could not recomend her more highly!

We had an unusual sistuation that required us to hire Joslin at the last minute, the day before I was induced. My husband suddenly developed a terrible case of vertigo and my primary doula, a friend from several hours away, was not going to be able to make it. The situation had me extremely anxious about not having a support person the day of my delivery, which led me to Joslin through the my local network of doulas. The effect of her calming demeanor and professionalism was immediate on both myself and my husband. She helped me navigate some issues we encountered with the hospital and overall feel very empowered with my birth experience. This was my second birth and I had a lot of latent trauma from the delivery of my first child. Joslin helped me work through many of the anxieties I harboured from my first child to make this delivery one of the most incredible and empowered moments of my life. I am truely grateful for her support and service. 

She has also been a tremendous support post partum, checking in on me and the baby regularily. She is truly a wonderful doula and person.
