Post a testimonial for Emily Austin

We were so grateful to have Emily as part of our support team for our newborn's first weeks and months entering the world. She was punctual to every session, quickly adapted to our setup and preferences for our child and not only provided great overnight support but also followed up on questions that we had during the week. The overnight care support that Emily provided not only gave us a much needed break during the first few weeks but also reassurance that our newborn was in good hands. Emily is thoughtful, caring, and supportive and we recommended her highly to anyone who is looking for a postpartum doula.

We are so grateful to Emily for being an integral part of our newborn’s early weeks. She was a calm, caring, and loving presence through it all – from the peaceful nights to the more stressful, unexpected moments. Whether we needed support through a small medical emergency or just some reassurance during the tougher nights, Emily was always there with clear guidance and gentle care. She quickly became irreplaceable, and we knew we could trust her in any situation. Her presence not only helped us navigate the challenges of new parenthood, but also gave us peace of mind, knowing our baby was in such capable hands. We can’t thank her enough for all the comfort and support she provided.

It is with great pleasure that we write this reference letter for Emily Austin who served as a newborn care specialist for our daughter from 9/2024 through 1/2025. We cannot recommend Emily highly enough to anyone seeking compassionate, knowledgeable, and trustworthy newborn care.
From our first interaction, Emily demonstrated exceptional professionalism and expertise. Her calm and nurturing demeanor created a supportive environment that was invaluable during the newborn phase. Her night shift care was particularly indispensable, allowing us to rest with the peace of mind that our daughter was being cared for as attentively as we would ourselves.
Emily quickly understood our preferences and adapted seamlessly. Her independence and sound judgment meant she required minimal instruction and confidently handled any situation. Her expertise encompassed all aspects of newborn care, such as feeding, diapering, sleep routines, and soothing techniques. When on shift, Emily remained fully focused on our daughter’s needs, ensuring her care and comfort at all times.
Her proactive and detail-oriented approach made her invaluable. She identified any concerns early, such as a developing diaper rash, and suggested effective solutions. After a spit-up incident, Emily even researched cleaning techniques for our daughter’s bassinet and took the initiative to clean it thoroughly herself.
Emily is incredibly reliable. She consistently arrived early and prepared, having reviewed our care log to ensure smooth transitions. Her organizational skills and tidy work habits further underscored her dedication to providing exceptional care.
Emily’s positive attitude made her an absolute pleasure to have in our home. Her warmth and enthusiasm for her work made every interaction enjoyable.
Emily exceeded all expectations and would be an extraordinary asset to any family. We wholeheartedly recommend her without reservation.

Emily helped us out with newborn nighttime care after we had our first child. Her help was absolutely instrumental in helping us adjust to the crazy time and we really could not have had more capable, considerate and kind assistance. She is caring, approachable and professional.
Communication is one of Emily's strongest qualities. She was always really clear with any potential scheduling issues and quickly responded whenever we had to make last minute adjustments. Whenever we had questions during the day, she also responded very promptly and clearly. We also really appreciated the notes that she made about our child's behavior overnight - such as notes about feeding, diapering etc...
Emily also went above and beyond in terms of helping out. She offered to help pick some things up during the day when there was a period of time when I was on my own and also offered a ton of tangible help/advice with the process of finding a nanny afterwards. She is clearly very considerate and thoughtful.
Emily is everything that we needed for nighttime care for our newborn. She is punctual, easy to communicate and has a wealth of knowledge/experience that we really benefited from. We really could not have had more capable help with our newborn.

Emily came into my life as a new doula seeking mentorship as she began finding her place within the birthwork community, but I don't know who mentored who more! She is constantly putting in the work to further her education and broaden her skillset and knowledge to provide the absolute best support for the families she supports and for her community. Her calm, loving, confident presence can put everyone in a room at ease. I have trusted her with my own clients when I needed backup, enthusiastically referred her to folks looking for support, and have only heard amazing feedback about her care.
She has been such a loving foundation of support and light for me since I have known her and I cannot reccomend her enough to families seeking support for their births or postpartum period.

We hired Emily as our doula for our second birth and being new to the state of Washington! I very much enjoyed that she talked to me like a real person and did not feel like it was overly professional or intense. She was relaxed and made me feel very relaxed as well! Emily was very kind and soothing during labor. She did whatever the situation called for. She was a strong person to have when I needed reasurane and guidance, but also able to laugh with me and support me with all of my decisions. When a technique she was using felt too intense or didn't feel right, I felt safe and comfortable telling her to stop or to shift her positioning. She had great suggestions during difficult times of labor, even if I didnt take all of them! If we had more children, I would hire Emily again!

I'll begin by saying that Emily is my daughters first best friend :) She has been so great with my little one right from when she was a month old. As a FTM I learnt a lot about childcare from her. Her overnight support helped me rest and recover and I was able to resume work worry-free with Emily having me support during the day..and I am forever grateful! She's super helpful and so speedy with all the help! And lastly I made a new friend :) We love you Emmy <3

Emily is an incredibly loving and nurturing person. She is communicative and reliable; her ability to anticipate needs and take action has been a game changer for us. It can be intimidating inviting someone into a household and very personal aspects of life, Emily fits in so naturally and made us instantly feel comfortable. We are so grateful for everything she's done for us and we consider her a part of our family.
