Hiring Heather was the best decision I made during my pregnancy, I cannot recommend her enough. As a physician, I was leery about hiring a doula as I had heard stories of women who felt judged for wanting allopathic labor support (epidural, etc). However, after the birth of my first child I felt let down by the medical system. I had a very lengthy and difficult labor and received very little coaching for positioning, timing of epidural, and movements to help labor progress. And don’t get me wrong, I had a fantastic OB. I learned that there are simply care and knowledge gaps of traditional hospital based labor. After that experience, I knew I needed a doula and Heather was the perfect choice. From the first time I met her, I felt like I had known her for years. She has this lovely way of making you feel completely comfortable with even the most private of topics. I never felt the least bit self conscious despite being completely exposed and at my most vulnerable. My second labor with Heather was 100% better because of her presence. First labor: 4 hours of pushing. Second labor: 28 minutes. She worked fluidly with my nurse and physician. She kept me calm and centered and made me feel cared for, nourished, and supported. I would never consider having another baby without her at my side. She was worth every penny. 10/10 recommend.

We're in our 40s, and felt it was important to have a doula who recognized our life experience through the different phases of the birth of our son. We're also a multicultural family, and wanted our different backgrounds to be recognized and considered throughout.
Heather started our work together by asking us thoughtful questions about what we were hoping for from her and from our delivery. Her myriad birthing experiences helped us to understand aspects of our own birth plan that we never could have known to think about without her. Heather arrived at the hospital while I was well into labor, and got involved in comforting and massaging me through contractions so that my husband could simply hold my hand and talk to me. As it became necessary to make real decisions about things like breaking my water and having a C-section, Heather shifted into empowering us to use our voices to advocate for what we thought was best and healthiest for us. We can't imagine how we would have made those crucial decisions, nor had the deeply positive experience we look back on so fondly now, without Heather.
If you're looking for a calm, knowledgable, and deeply supportive presence during all stages of your birth experience, Heather is exactly who you're looking for. Heather is very experienced, brings humor to keep healthy perspective, and maybe most importantly, validates your experience so you feel empowered to advocate for what you really want.

Heather is phenominal. We hired Heather after the birth of our first child for post-partum support. She was a key factor to our success as parents. We started each shift as a Q&A session where we would ask Heather all sorts of questions and she answered them opening and honestly, we learned SO much from Heather - we would seriously be lost with out her. She helped us with breast feeding (how to, positions, milk transfer, latching, etc.), pumping (how to, schedules) and fomula feeding. She helped us set up shifts so my partner and I could get more sleep, shared ways to boost my milk supply, taught us how to read baby ques (hungry, sleepy), how to sooth our son, and how to put him down for propper naps! In addition to helping with the baby, Heather did light cleaning and laundry, she also made cookies when I left ingredients. We trusted Heather 100% with our new born son and would hand him over and we would leave for hours to go to the gym, run errends, and just take time to get away from the house. I took advantage of Heather's Reiki experience and did three sessions and our two cats also enjoyed Heather's company! Heather is a calming pressence and a true gem, we would gladly keep her around forever if it was an option and we can't thank her enough :).

Our family worked with Heather this past Spring for birth doula services. We could not have made a better choice, and feel blessed and grateful that she helped us welcome our baby girl.
We engaged Heather since this was the birth of our first child, and we didn't know what to expect in terms of labor or delivery. Heather helped us clarify our goals in working with her and helped me define my preferences for the labor and delivery experience. She spent many hours preparing both my husband and me for the experience, such as, what we could expect during early labor. During my pregnancy, she both proactively shared her knowledge and answered my many questions quickly & thoroughly. During my labor, she gave hands-on support and guidance for a movement-forward experience (my preference), and was available at all hours to answer my questions about scenarios that came up. She was an advocate for our family in the birth room, asking the questions of my birth team (nurses and doctors at a hospital) that I wouldn't know to ask. And, I was fortunate to be at a hospital that empowered birthing parents to engage with doulas; in turn, my birth team respected her and were glad to involve her in discussions about my care.
Following a birth that was beautiful and for which I felt extremely prepared, Heather stayed with us in the hosptial for the majority of a day to ensure we felt confident in our new role. The following week, she visited us in our home to share additional practical support.
Heather is a master in her craft, and shares her expertise with clarity as well as kindness. We highly recommend working with Heather!

From the moment we met Heather, she felt like a member of our family. She was instrumental in helping us achieve a beautiful labor and birth, advocating for my preferences, managing pain, and guiding me through various positions to facilitate progress in labor.
In the weeks leading up to the birth, Heather dedicated several hours to preparing my partner and me. She encouraged us to consider different scenarios, practiced Spinning Babies techniques with us, and discussed my labor preferences in detail. Thanks to her calming expertise, we approached the experience without anxiety, confident in Heather’s support.
When I faced a complication after delivery, Heather remained by our side throughout. She guided my partner in supporting me and advocated to keep our baby with me at all times—something I believe greatly contributed to the positive outcome of our situation.
After we were discharged, Heather visited us at home and provided invaluable practical support that we hadn’t received at the hospital. She helped with swaddling, bottle feeding, soothing a fussy baby, and even advised us on some essential overnight Amazon purchases. During this time, Heather also assisted us in navigating and processing the trauma we experienced, validating our complex feelings and helping us appreciate the beauty of our birth.
Heather will always be a cherished part of our family and our story. We cannot recommend her services enough.

I had the pleasure of working with Heather for the labor of my first baby. Heather had such a positive impact on my birth experience that I can't imagine what it would have been like without her. She is extremely knowledgable, kind, caring and respectful of you and your wishes. If you are looking for a Doula that will support you through one of the most difficult experiences of your life with a calm, kind, supportive demeanor; Heather is who you are looking for! I cannot recommend her enough!

As first time parents we reached out to Heather when our little girl was a week old. At the time I had a lot PP anxiety and my husband was going back to work. We were looking for someone that could provide both expertise/guidance about random newborn questions (instead of Googling at 1am!) and a trusted person who could take care of our daughter so I could catch up on sleep.
What we got was SO much more! Not only is Heather extremely knowledgeble, certified/dedicated to her craft, and professional; she is also very nurturing, caring, and treated our daughter like her own. Heather's overall vibe is very calming and kind. After working with Heather for almost 8 weeks, my daughter and me are completely different people - for the better. My little one is sleeping amazing, taking a bottle, breastfeeding, and developing so well - all things we worked on with Heather. Through her support, I am a better mother to my little girl, because not only am I getting more sleep, but I also had Heather as an amazing resource to ask all my random new parent questions (instead of going down the black hole which is the internet).
If we could have Heather with us forever would! We can't recommend her enough.
