Hello and congratulations future moms and dads. If you're wondering if you should hire Lo and you've made it all the way to reading her reviews, then you're one step closer to making the best decision for your birthing experience! There are plenty of testimonials from mothers, so I'm leaving this review for the fathers out there who are wondering "why does my wife need a doula?" Your wife doesn't need a doula, she needs Lo!

I can't imagine the birth of our baby without Lo's help. We had our baby at home and Lo showed up early in the morning after our call, staying for almost 24 hours straight. But her help started way before my wife went into labor. She was a resource to answer questions and give advice all the way through my wife's pregancy. Any time she had a question, Lo was just a call or a text away with valuable insight. On the day our baby was born, my wife went into labor at around 2:30 in the morning. We called Lo at 7 am and she was at the house by 9. She helped my wife through contractions with positions and suggestions for the next six hours and finally told us when it was time to call the midwife. Lo's calming presence seemed to keep my wife in a zen-like state all the way up to our baby's birth, but she also kept me grounded as well. Whenever I had questions or needed direction on how to help, she was right there and was a great resource for keeping ME calm and helpful. After the baby was born, Lo stayed late, making sure we ate and hydrated before we went to sleep with our little girl now in the world. In the days and weeks afterward, my wife would call Lo with questions about breastfeeding and other advice with our new baby and she was always instantly responsive and helpful. I've told many people that Lo was the darkhorse in our birthing experience and that I never expected her to be so helpful to our family, before, during and after the birth. She'll be a part of us forever! Hire her now and don't give it a second thought.

Where to begin? You need to hire Lo Dorr as your doula, full stop. Lo was an integral part of our labor and delivery, as well as offering incredible pregnancy and postnatal support. She was always available for questions, and put my mind at ease throughout the entire process. Not only does she have the technical knowledge and experience, but she delivers this expertise in a calm and considerate way. Even though this was my first pregnancy, Lo made me feel confident and empowered throughout my journey to motherhood. She offered guidance and suggestions in an approachable way, and made the entire experience feel very personalized to me, my husband and my baby. I loved how she made my husband feel included and a part of my labor team, not just a bystander. She gave him helpful tips and guidance that made him feel like a part of the experience and was a big help to me. Lo was calm and collected throughout the entire labor, and was an integral contribution to my magical home birth experience. I had no idea just how crucial her help would be, I simply could not have done it without her. She made me feel serene and supported, but also strong and self-assured. My labor and delivery is such a happy and positive memory, and a major part of that is because of Lo's involvement. I am forever grateful to her for creating such a wonderful atmosphere to welcome my daughter into the world.

I’m still filled with gratitude for the incredible contributions that Lo made during the births of our daughters. Her presence and support were invaluable throughout the entire process for both, from pregnancy to postpartum. Even today, years later, Lo regularly checks in on us and is well loved by both my daughters.

From the very beginning, Lo's expertise and nurturing nature created a sense of calm and reassurance. Her guidance and knowledge helped us navigate the birthing process with confidence. I felt empowered as a father knowing that she was by our side, advocating for us, and ensuring that our wishes were respected. Throughout both births, Lo’s presence and calm resolve made me confident that everything was going to be ok.

As a father, I cannot emphasize enough the impact that Lo had on our journey. Her compassion created a space of trust and reassurance for both me and my better half. She supported us through the highs and lows, empowering us to make informed decisions and providing comfort during challenging moments.

If you are seeking a doula who will go above and beyond to ensure a positive birthing experience, I wholeheartedly recommend Lo. Her expertise, compassion, and calming presence as a doula have left a permanent mark on our lives as a family, and we are forever grateful for her presence during those precious moments.

When we decided to have a baby, we put a lot of thought into everything. From prenatal vitamins to where the baby would sleep, we talked about it all. However, in all our discussions, the subject of a doula never came up. I just assumed it would be the hospital staff and my husband in the room during labor. I didn’t even know what a doula was or why one would be helpful.

Boy, am I SO glad it was suggested to me! Looking back, I don’t know how I would have survived without our doula Lo! She was nothing short of amazing.

Lo gave us helpful reading materials in preparation for both the birth and new parenthood. She also had us fill out paperwork that really got me thinking about the type of labor and delivery experience I wanted.

When the big day finally came, Lo was there every step of the way. She offered helpful position advice, made sure I had cool wash cloths and ice, held my hair back when I was sick, and took pictures at my request. She encouraged me to rest when I could and offered me snacks to keep my energy up. She also helped my husband by acting as his tag team partner.

After the delivery, my son unfortunately wasn’t breathing on his own and had to go to the NICU. It was very scary, but Lo stayed with me and offered words of comfort while my husband went with our son. She made sure I was completely taken care of before she finally left the hospital. And in the days following the birth, I always knew she was just a phone call away. In fact, I ended up having PPD/PPA, and when I let Lo know, she offered invaluable resources. That was so helpful during such a chaotic time.

Overall, I can’t recommend Lo enough. When you are going through the hardest experience of your life, you need someone there who is going to make sure you’re so cared for that you can 100% focus on getting your baby into the world. I'm so grateful she was my person.

I honestly can't imagine what I would have done without Lorraine there in the delivery room. She brings such a level of warmth, care, and attention that very few people naturally embody. Guiding me and having her support at a difficult and scary time made it much less scary as it was my first child. Giving birth is already hard, having someone like her next to you creates a beautiful experience welcoming your baby that you always remember. Everyone truly wants someone who genuinely cares about you and your baby and that's exactly who she is. I cannot say enough good things about her knowledge and the person she is. Anyone would be truly blessed to have her as their Doula!

Words can never express how thankful we are for Lo during our first pregnancy. She was there to answer any and all of my crazy questions during pregnancy and after. She listened and gave recommendations to my very detailed birth plan. During my labor, she made sure I was as comfortable as I could be. During the birth things took a turn and didn't go as planned. She was reassuring that everything would be okay and we could do this. I couldn't recommend Lo enough. If there is a future Baby Joyce, I wouldn't do it without her!
