Alyssa is a kind, knowledgeable, and passionate doula! She demonstrates the love and peace of Christ!! Alyssa really goes in depth about your options (knowledge is power!). She is very knowledgeable of local midwives and OBs!! My family was so grateful for her guidance and calm presence throughout the end stages of pregnancy, delivery, and first two weeks postpartum. She really felt like an extension of our family and got along so well with my mom and husband. I had a natural water birth in a hospital setting and I attribute the success of this birth to her help. I was able to experience the water birth I desired due to her help. Importantly, she will keep you accountable to your birth plan. I wanted to avoid induction but my baby boy was BIG by the end and very uncomfortable. I felt like throwing in the towel those last two weeks and getting induced at the end but she kept me positive and motivated! Furthermore, we got baby moved down and my labor was fairly quick! I truly think it was her knowledge on Spinning Babies paired with great instincts that had me avoid induction (my water broke spontaneously!). Hope to work with her again for the next baby :) Thank you Alyssa for your dedication and time!!

I highly recommend Comfort & Vine! Alyssa was absolutely amazing! She listened to all of my concerns, no matter how small and always made sure to talk them through with me. She’s very knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly explain things to me that I did not know throughout my pregnancy. I loved how she always checked in with me and it never felt like it was just a “check the box” interaction. Her prenatal and postpartum care was phenomenal! You can tell that she truly loves being a doula and loves helping women out. She was the best doula and so glad to have also gained a great friend!!

I had an incredibly healing experience with Alyssa as my doula for my second and last baby. After a rough go with my first birth and a less than desirable experience, I wanted to ensure I didn't have that with my last baby. I found Alyssa through a Facebook search where people had recommended her. I was in search of a doula that was supportive of my wishes and not too pushy of a "crunchy" or nothing birth. When I read her bio she seemed like exactly what I was looking for. She has all the tools and encouragement for the more natural approach to birth that I was looking for, but also supportive of me if I ended up wanting an epidural again. After we met and signed the contract, she sent me so many resources and tools to begin the prep work of educating and practicing the skills for the pregnancy and birth I had envisioned. This was already a better start than I had with my first. The closer we got to delivery the more help I received, for anything from a breech baby, to posterior baby, to tools to try and get my body to go into labor naturally after I passed my EDD and my doctor started talking about induction. Thankfully I ended up going into labor on my own and she was there for me every step of the way from the first contraction, to meeting us when we arrived at the hospital in active labor. She showed my husband how to apply counter pressure and they made an amazing team helping me with pressure, massage, and position changes throughout my exhausting 8+ hours of being 8 cm dilated. I could NEVER have had the natural med-free birth without her and everything she did for me. Thanks to her I had the healing experience I envisioned and I have had an amazing postpartum experience this time around as well, which I attribute to the wonderful birth. She treats you like more than just another client; she is personable and is amazing at what she does. I will be recommending her to anyone else I know who is pregnant!

As soon as I got pregnant with my first baby I knew I wanted to work with a doula. As a new mom, I wanted that extra support during pregnancy and birth and that's exactly what I got with Alyssa! She is so knowledgeable and wise when it comes to birth and babies and I love her holistic approach. She helped make the journey toward motherhood joyful for me rather than anxiety inducing! And when the day finally came to have baby girl, my water broke at 4 am and Alyssa walked with me through that entire day offering direction, being a steady presence amidst the uncertainty of birth and helped me stick to my birth plan. I had a hospital birth and I don't think I could've done it without her! I would highly recommend working with her to anyone expecting a baby, but especially first time moms!

Where do I start? From the first consult, Alyssa was a WEALTH of knowledge for me, and more importantly she became a central support for me all through my pregnancy and birth. I dealt with a LOT of prodromal labor in third trimester, and she was never too busy to help me work through determining whether the contractions were early labor or not (and to help me through the mental battle that that can become as you keep dealing with false alarms!). She armed me with tools for relaxation and helped build up my confidence before my first home birth (it was my third birth, but first at home). She even stayed in the loop on my chiropractor visits and suggested Spinning Babies techniques based on baby's position. At my home birth, my active labor had progressed really quickly, but she arrived totally composed and was so present, and she was a HUGE help to my husband to get him in supportive positions and to help keep the environment calm like I wanted. It was a better birth than I had even imagined for myself, and I contribute so much of that success to Alyssa's support and prep tools. I could not recommend her enough!!

The moment Alyssa and I sat down for coffee, I knew I had found the doula that I wanted to be by our side at birth. She was everything we were looking for and more! We connected very quickly on our outlook of birth, raising children + our faith, which are all very important things to my husband and I. Even though my birth didn’t go the way I had hoped and planned, my husband and I couldn’t have gotten through it without her by our side helping guide us as first time parents. We will forever be grateful for her voice in the moments when we didn’t know what we wanted and her willingness to step in when she knew we needed her to. I will always recommend her to anyone I know looking for a doula in our area + plan to have her assist in all my future births!

I had a wonderful experience with Alyssa. We connected in the third trimester of my fourth pregnancy. She was able to recommend multiple resources that really helped me through the end of my pregnancy and through the birth. She stayed in communication with me the week I went into labor since my labor kept stopping and starting. Once my water broke and I was ready to go to the hospital she met me there right away and stayed with me and my husband through the whole labor and for a while afterward. She was so supportive of all of my decisions and helped communicate my wishes to the nurses when I was overwhelmed with everything. She really helped me with finding comfortable positions and applying back pressure since I wanted to hold off on getting the epidural as long as possible. I successfully had my third VBAC a healthy baby! Alyssa was so supportive and kind and I would definitely recommend her whether you are planning a home birth, birthing center, or hospital birth!

Alyssa was my doula for the birth of my 3rd child. I know that because of her, I had a beautiful, natural, physiological birth. She is kind, incredibly generous, loves the Lord, and has a calming presence that makes her a perfect doula for someone like me. I have a lot of anxiety and do better when I have someone who is both gentle and firm.

Alyssa became a part of my pregnancy journey around 18 weeks along. I was able to talk about my previous births, my indecision about where to give birth, and the difficulties I had experienced with secondary infertility. I had an initial consultation and 2 prenatal appointments with her in person where she was so attentive and wonderful about helping my husband and me to think through what I wanted my birthing time to look like. She was also available by phone and text, and I appreciated so much how often she checked in with me (and reminded me that I couldn't over communicate with her).

A very big reason I decided to pursue a birthing center birth where I knew I wouldn't be able to have an epidural (I'm definitely not great with pain and had epidurals with my first 2) was because of her encouragement and also her suggestion to pursue using Hypnobabies.

Alyssa is such a wealth of information. I felt very safe going to her with my questions, concerns, and even my frustrations. She was fabulous at reminding me of God's sovereignty, His perfect timing, and that she was praying for me. During my actual birthing time, Alyssa was a strong, calming presence that involved herself when she needed to and also let me work through the different stages of labor.

I'm so thankful for everything Alyssa did for me during pregnancy, my birthing time, and also after birth and in the weeks following birth. She is a fantastic doula and an amazing person. I highly recommend her and am so happy to do so.
