Jordan was a referral from my cousin, and although I spoke with other doulas, after my first conversation with Jordan, my husband and I knew she would be the perfect fit for us. From start to finish Jordan was of great assistance for this new Mom. Speaking with her put me at ease and helped to alleviate the anxiety I felt particularly about delivery. She was available, by phone and/or email to answer any questions that arose pre/post delivery.

Unfortunately, when I gave birth Jordan was not able to be with me because another client went into labor just before me. When signing our contract with Jordan, and I imagine with any other doula, there is a clause about this very scenario and sending someone as a proxy. The possibility of two women going into labor at the same time is always something that must be considered. Jordan sent anoher doula, Elizabeth, on her behalf who was truly lovely. Although Jordan could not be at my bedside during the delivery, she was in constant contact with Elizabeth and was provided up to date information about my progress. The transition was not scary and seemed rather seamless.

After Jordan finished up with her other client she rushed from wherever she was to the hospital where I was. We spoke about the delivery, what I was feeling, and additional resources that may be helpful to me. Although all the information did not sink in at the time, there was a follow up visit to my house where we fully debriefed about my experience. She also provided pointers. Even after Jordan's services had concluded I have been able to contact her with any questions that may arise as I adjust to being a new Mom and the various "things" that may pop up.

I would highly recommned Jordan!

Jordan helped us during my first pregnancy and delivery in April/May 2015. My husband and I took a bunch of classes at Roosevelet, where I was set to deliver, but having Jordan was more valuable than the classes! Like most first time parents, we were nervous and I convinced my husband that hiring a doula would be great for us. I was right! In the weeks leading up to my delivery, Jordan was always available by email and text, no matter what time of day or night, and was very soothing effect and comforting when I had to go into the hospital in my third trimester because I hadn't felt the baby move. She was so responsive and caring, and we were all relieved when it turned out to be a false alarm.

Finally I went into labor! I was GBS+ so once my water broke, we had to stay near the hospital. Jordan met us at a hotel nearby, and my labor was progressing much more quickly than anticipated. She used massage techniques, calming touch, helped me with the birthing ball, encouraged me to move into different positions, and helped me move around the room. Once we got to the hospital, our birth plan had to be tweaked a little but Jordan did not blink an eye and was totally focused on me and my labor. She had only encouraging words, no matter what happened. While we were focusing on our newborn, she grabbed our camera and took lots of pictures that we would not have had otherwise!

Once the baby was born, Jordan helped me with skin to skin, assisted in our first latch, and stayed to help with other things as well. I was sad when she had to leave! Looking back on my labor, I know that my husband was calmed greatly by her presence as well. He even said, multiple times after we left the hospital, that it was the best idea ever to hire her, and my labor would not have gone as well without her.

Jordan came to check up on us about a week after the birth. She helped me with nursing positions and different holds for the baby. We had a great experience!

We live in Bushwick and both of our kids were delivered at NYU Langone Medical Center. We have worked with Jordan twice now and I would like to share my experience as a father.

As the father I'm obviously not the person giving birth, so why does it matter what I think? As I see it, a doula is a support for the woman in labor, in these cases my wife. She is there to support and guide. Help with breathing. Relaxation. Massage. Heavy lifting. All of this, Jordan does really well. However, while this is all important, I also think that this view of a doula is a bit limiting.

I know that we human have had babies for thousands of years. Way before we had hospitals and doulas, and I'm pretty sure that my awesome wife would have delivered both of our lovely kids without any support if she had to. But it would probably have been more stressful. There would have been more uncertainty. More fear. And a much bigger risk that the whole thing could be a bad experience.

Jordan gave us both confidence. She empowered us to do it the way we wanted to. Knowing that Jordan was on standby gave me me more confidence to work with my wife in labor. I wasn't afraid because I knew the cavalry was on the way. That's how I felt. We can handle this. And even in the most difficult and challenging parts, transitioning from home to hospital, Jordan guided us gently and confidently.

Jordan has done almost every imaginable form of work that involves giving care to others (I can't remember them all) and this is clearly what she was meant to do. You can feel that she loves her work. She truly loves what she does. And yet her biggest gift is not what she does. It's who she is.

Thank you Jordan for helping us bring Noah and Uma into the world in a way that was a powerful and empowering experience for both mom and dad. You are warm and calm.

Jordan went above and beyond what my expectations of what a doula was, and did.
I was on bed rest for quite some time before I gave birth, and she visited with techniques that were helpful during my pregnancy and labor. She was also so respectful of my wants and wishes, and just made me feel so much more calm and empowered about my birth and my choices.

My experience was so much more wonderful than I could have anticipated it would be, because of her presence. She had such a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Most importantly Jordan made me feel as if I had known her for years with her by my side I never felt alone.

If I have another baby, Jordan will be my first call. <3 <3 <3

We chose Jordan because of her background as a lactation consultant and massage therapist. We thought that those skills combined with her birth experience would contribute a lot to our birth.

We called Jordan into the hospital (I was induced) about 5 hours into induction. She entered our labor calmly and jumped right into supporting us- even though we were in the hospital for labor and not at home like we wanted. At that point, I needed more support that my husband and it was the perfect time to bring Jordan in. Throughout the labor Joran adapted to my needs and desires- and more importantly was more than accomodating and willing to sit with me in the bathroom for hours. When I asked over and over again how much longer I would be in labor, Jordan calmly responded, "you're doing great." Truely, once we got into the more intense active labor, Jordan went above and beyond what I would expect from a doula and didn't bat an eyelash when things got more "organic." She knew exactly when to summon the midwife when it was time to push. Finally, she provided support to get our baby to latch immidiately after birth and responded to all my questions whether or not this or that was normal and even talked me through the stitches at the end.

Jordan was an integral part of our birth experience and we absolutely could not have done it without her. I highly reccomend her services!

We had the pleasure of meeting and hiring Jordan as our doula for the birth of our first son. When we decided to look for a doula, we wanted someone who was knowledgeable, reassuring, and friendly. Most importantly we wanted someone to guide us through this very new experience for us and to make it as positive as possible. Jordan did just that and beyond! She helped us get through what was a long labor and helped me in particular deal with pain as much as possible without medications. This was incredibly important since I wanted to do the best for my baby and holding out on medications was the best thing (though I did have an epidural at the end, I was able to hold out longer due to her pain management techniques). Whenever I needed words of encouragement, she was there... she knew exactly how to calm us down when things got tough and stayed positive the entire time. She never interfered either with my husband and I or the medical staff.... she knew when to step in at the right time. We are so grateful to Jordan for helping us deliver a healthy baby boy and strongly recommend her as a doula.

Jordan was a blessing in the delivery of our son.  Our labor was 27 hours long.  Jordan was by our side from the moment we needed her until we we're happily bonding with our son.  She is patient, understanding and highly informative.  If we hire a doula for our next child, Jordan will be our first call.

I am so glad I had Jordan as my doula!  This was my first birth experience.  I knew I needed some outside support to get through labor and delivery.  Jordan was a comforting presence throughout the ENTIRE 24 hours that I was in labor.  She used massage and pressure points to ease the pain of the contractions.  When it was discovered that I was not dliating as hoped because the baby was "sunny-side up", Jordan knew what to do to help the baby get into the right position.

My family and I could not be happier with Jordan!  She is such a kind, knowledgeable and calm presence during labor and delivery.  Indispensable!

Jordan was a true pleasure to work with from start to end. She was incredibly sensitive to all aspects of my son's birth, from my religious beliefs to personal requests during the birth. Even after the birth, Jordan was there to help settle me into my recovery room, always going above and beyond any regular services. Jordan was great to have as my doula and I definitely recommend her!
