I have been working with babies, students, and families for over 15 years in many different capacities. From teaching kids and babies swim lessons, to teaching my own classroom of three and four year olds, to having my own babies. I am passionate about supporting families where they are at and advocating for what is best for them.
My fees include 2 prenatal meetings at your home, plus 1 complimentary meeting beforehand to get to know each other. During our prenatal meetings we will discuss things like what kind of support, labor, and birth you want. You will also receive birth plan templates and resources for birth preparation. I will be available 24 hrs. from 38 weeks through labor and delivery and schedule 1 postpartum visit when you are comfortable for me to bring a gift for your family and talk through your labor and delivery. During this visit we can discuss how you are feeling, and I will give referrals for whatever is needed. $500 is due when you sign my contract agreeing to my services, and $500 is due by the time of your second prenatal meeting. Please ask for sliding scale if needed. I am a Christian and would love to serve you! Please see my FB page, Peaceful Birth Doula Services to learn more about me and how I can support you.

Katie helped us find a sense of calm in the chaos of navigating postpartum life. She was a calm presence in our home. We liked her communication style, clear, caring and never rushed. Our baby took to her almost immediately. Katie was also great with sibling support. We couldn't recommend her enough!

We were so thankful having Katie on our team as we delivered our first baby at Special Delivey in Arlington. Two great prenatal visits with Katie helped my husband and I get on the same page for labor and she gave us lots of resources! Katie was great to talk to after my prenatal appointments when I had questions or concerns and always was on my side and never made me feel dumb for how I felt or how I processed things. She respected my views of how I wanted to go into labor naturally with minimal inductions methods and encouraged me to stick to that even if I was "overdue" by a few days. I didn't end up needing that as I went into labor three days before my due date. From the time labor started she was easy to get ahold of and talk on the phone or text. My labor was long and I did most of the hard work at home and she was able to give me advice and encouragement over the phone when i was frustrated and felt like I wasn't progressing. Once we got to the birth center she was there helping me change positions and get baby moving and get the labor pains more intense so I could get the little bean into the world. She was a calling presence to a new experience for me and I think that helped me stay calm and be able to relax through contractions. After baby was born she offered to hang around if we needed or head out to give us privacy. Then we had a follow up visit to chat about the birth and see how we were doing post partum. It was nice to debrief my birth experience and talk about things with her. I'm looking forward to working with Katie again for our next little one! Thank you Katie!

Katie did a fantastic job at being my doula and I don’t know what I would have done without her. She met me at the birth center and helped me get through my contractions there. Unfortunately, the midwife informed us that I was only 2 cm dilated so we were sent back home until I was a bit further along. This is where having Katie as our doula was absolutely life changing. Katie followed us back to our house where I labored for another 4 hours. My husband and I have no idea what we would have done without her - labor was quite intense at this point and having her support was so crucial to getting through that time. She positioned me in different positions and stayed with me the whole time, providing support in every way she could. I recall falling asleep in between contractions and would wake up to her holding my hands and helping me get through the next one. She knew all the right things to say to keep me focused and optimistic. I honestly think without her support during this particularly intense time that I would have just gone to the hospital, but with her I was able to handle it. When we got back to the birth center, she did a great job of supporting both me and my husband. She took a beautiful video of the moment of our daughter’s birth. And finally, she was very supportive after labor was over, helping get me hydrated and fed and supporting my decisions during that time. We would have been completely lost without Katie’s support and I am so glad we had her guidance for the birth of my first child. I’ll definitely be calling her again when we are expecting our second.

Katie was the perfect Doula for us! We were immediately impressed by the communication, compassion and effort she put into finding resources specific to our needs. Any questions or conversations we had were met with understanding, thoughtfulness, and follow-up. She is honest, direct, respected our time and was dependable. We had an emergency c-section due to pre-eclampsia and she was BY MY SIDE when I woke up! She took pictures of my FaceTime call with my husband, who went up to the NICU, introducing me to our son...it was so special to have that! She asked the nurses questions on my behalf, knowing what was important to me as mama, when I was recovering from anesthesia. She was intentional about learning what was important to both of us and I was grateful how she showed respect for my husband's voice, feelings and really empowered him as a new daddy. The thoughtful, compassionate, comforting presence throughout our birthing process that Katie provided was a blessing to our family and we highly recommend her!

We hired Katie for my first Birth Center Birth and I was happy she was part of the team. She was so thoughtful, responsive, calm, and hands-on (that's what I needed). She was a great communicator and I appreciated her checking in. We are so grateful for her and couldn't have asked for a better doula. Thank you Katie!!
