Working with Jahlisa was truly a godsend while I was freshly postpartum! As a first time mom, I wasn't expecting to have so many questions and so many moments of panic. From help with breastfeeding to suggestions on good postpartum leggings to ideas on how to hold baby while feeding to make her less gassy - Jahlisa was a wealth of knowledge, ideas, and help. My husband often begins statements with "well Jahlisa said..." :) When working with a doula, I expected a good night's sleep - but with Jahlisa, I felt like we got a member of the family :) She has such a calm, gentle demeanor which was so incredibly helpful when I would freak out over small newborn quirks. She was also so easily and quick to communicate with and schedule. From day 1, I felt so confident leaving my fresh baby with her!

I would highly, highly recommend Jahlisa - whether you just need a good night's sleep or you want a sounding board and emotional support - Jahlisa is your person!

From the moment my contractions started, my doula was right there walking with me every step of the way. She kept me calm and centered through the entire labor and delivery gently directing my breathing, guiding me through different comfort techniques, and constantly reminding me how strong and capable I was in every moment. Her presence made what could have felt overwhelming feel empowering and peaceful.

But where she really became my superhero was postpartum. I couldn’t imagine those first weeks of newborn life without her. She stepped right in and helped create a daily rhythm that made my recovery and breast feeding journey so much smoother. She made sure I ate breakfast every morning (that’s true love), kept my pump and bottle parts endlessly washed (because we all know there are A LOT), and supported me so I could produce enough milk without added stress.

The best part? She kept my newborn overnight a few nights a week so I could actually get real sleep.The kind where you wake up and remember your name again. 

In all seriousness, her care, structure and kindness gave me the space to heal, bond, and breathe during one of the most transformative times of my life.

Honestly I would highly suggest not having children unless you already have a doula like her booked. This was an amazing, unbelievably well deserved experience that every new parent deserves!!! 10/10 would highly recommend!

Working with Jahlisa and as our postpartum doula was incredible. She made me (and my husband) feel heard, supported, and reassured during such an emotional time. Her calm guidance helped our baby adjust to being home and gave me the rest and confidence I needed as a first time mom. She helped get us set up physically and mentally to care for a newborn and her organization skills are unmatched!! I can’t recommend Jahlisa enough to other families. She is warm, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to making the postpartum journey feel less isolating and more empowering.

Jahlisa was a wonderful doula for our baby girl.  We had Jahlisa the first night we got home from the hospital and it was such an incredible relief to know she was in excellent care and that we would get some rest.  Jahlisa was incredibly caring, thoughtful, responsive, and flexible.  We were lucky enough to have Jahlisa for 4 months which truly enabled us to enjoy these early newborn days.  Jahlisa ensured everything was clean and washed in the morning, saving us lots of time when we woke up.  We cannot recommend Jahlisa enough as a doula!

We feel incredibly fortunate to have had Jahlisa as our doula during the birth of our daughter. From the moment we met her, it was evident that her passion for supporting families through this significant life event was genuine. As first time parents, we were entering into uncharted waters. Maaaan I had the BEST birth experience EVER, no exaggeration! I'm so grateful that Jahlisa came through to be a part of our journey and birthing. She was so involved and attentive. Immediately from first conversation when i told her what i needed (a midwife, in this case) she went into GO MODE. Without her help i wouldn't have been able to secure a midwife for my home birth.

Jahlisa was so helpful to me after i had the baby, helping with my needs and helping me physically get around. Im so grateful. She even blessed my baby with clothes and help uplift me mentally during postpartum. She is truly a gem; the absolute best! And she has a heart of gold. I was definitely in good hands. Even though my baby is 1 now, Jahlisa is still in communication and really demonstrating the support aspect of a village. She is legit 1 of VERY few i actually trust when it comes to my children.

Our experience with Jahlisa and her postpartum services have been absolutely wonderful. We are first time parents and it was daunting bringing home our first baby from the hospital, however, Jahlisa's knowledge paired with 8 hours of sleep/3 nights a week made it all extremely managable. 

Jahlisa has the magic touch with babies and our newborn absolutely loved her. Not only did we fully trust Jahlisa with our daughter, but it was so helpful to have Jahlisa's invaluable coaching/tips to help us navigate the newborn phase. She helped us with everything from feeding and sleeping tips to navigating 'flu/covid' season with a baby. 

We are so thankful to Jahlisa and will definitely be using her for all of our babies!

Hiring Jahlisa as my postpartum doula was one of the best decisions I could have made for myself and our family. From the moment we hired Jahlisa, she showed up 110%. She supported me via text during my 24+ hour labor, on our first night together she walked in the door and immediately got to work teaching me how to use my pump, showed me how to bathe our daughter, and so much more. She is a wealth of knowledge about anything and everything. 4 months later, I still text Jahlisa with random questions. I wholeheartedly feel my postpartum experience was enhanced by hiring her. If you are even considering it, do yourself a favor and do it. I promise it won't regret it!

My husband and I welcomed our first baby in March and she came 6 weeks early - quite the surprise. She required additional care because she was premature and shortly after we brought her home we looked for some doula support. Jahlisa came highly recommended from another doula a close friend worked with. We had an amazing experience with her! She helped us understand sleep patterns, work towards longer sleep stretches, soothing techniques and much more. She was so gentle and kind with our baby girl and extremely reliable. We cannot recommend Jahlisa enough!

I have been wanting to do a natural birth ever since I was little but I always was intimidated by how scary  labor sounds when people talked about it. They always go "take the epidural", "you'd die if you do natural birth". The issue is I have endometriosis and the most prominent symptom is chronic back pain and those same women would complain about their back pain getting worse after the epidural. When I was introduced to Jahlisa, I knew it was faith to do natural birth. She just connected with me on such a spiritual and emotional level. She acknowledged my wants and my goals and she stuck by me all throughout even til today and my son is 3 months old. Her technique of massages and exercises help turn my baby face from facing my pelvis to my spine. I felt safe and empowered by her and I know for a fact that if I do get pregnant again, I know who my doula will be. I strongly believe that I wouldn't have been able to do it without her help. I love Jahlisa to death.

Jahlisa is an incredible doula. Not only did she provide invaluable support during the birth of our child, but she also helped with overnight stays in the weeks following. She was incredibly well-prepared and provided us with a wealth of information, activities, and advice. Her warmth and compassion were a huge comfort to us during this special time. As a father, I couldn't recommend her more highly. She's amazing!!!

Jahlisa is an amazing Doula. She is extremely informative and kind-hearted. She had all of the tools necessary to prepare me for my daughters birth. I had a wonder experience birthing my daughter with jahlisa right by my side. The after care that jahlisa provided exceeded my expectations. If I ever have another child, I definitely want jahlisa as my doula. Jahlisa provided me with cards of affirmations, keepsakes, and overall a wonderful experience.

Jahlisa is truly the greatest doula ever. She was my birth doula and is currently my postpartum doula as well.

As a birth doula, she brought beauty and comfort to our delivery. I was in labor 25 hours and she was with me through it all. She had so many tricks up her sleeve like essential oils which calmed me down, a bigger peanut ball to help open things up, a playlist and music, a massager (which was so helpful when my back was in pain), and a fan!! I was like how can a fan help but believe me after pushing for 3 hours, this fan was my best friend. During my labor, after 30 minutes the doctor came in and was like in 2 hours we’ll discuss forceps, vacuums and c sections and I started freaking out, watching the clock. Jahlisa assured me we would not be doing that and helped me focus on the delivery and not on what the doctor was saying. I was able to have a vaginal birth without feeling pressure to look at the clock. I truly love Jahlisa and will have her by my side for all future deliveries.

As a postpartum doula, Jahlisa brought me sleep. Oh my goodness, those first three weeks you think you will never sleep again. I felt safe with Jahlisa watching my baby because she has so much love. She also gave me tips on how to breastfeed (what food works, affirmations, etc). She has been helping me get through the first three months of being a mom and I love her for it. Also my baby loves her too! She smiles so much when Jahlisa is around.

All in all, I can’t say enough good things about Jahlisa. She is the most wonderful, amazing, magical woman I know and I’m so lucky she is in my life.

Ps - this is all to say, I wasn’t even sure I needed a doula. If you are on the fence. Hop off and do it, doulas are the best!!

Being completely transparent, I don’t know how I would have gotten through my pregnancy and labor without Jahlisa as my doula. I suppose I would have managed but I don’t even want to imagine it without her. She didn’t become my doula until my 3rdtrimester and I wish I had her from the beginning. From the moment we connected she checked on me almost daily, sent me positive affirmations, and shared helpful tips/tools. Whenever I had questions, she had the answers or would get them. When it came to actual labor she was there for the whole process. She drove me to the hospital and stayed a couple hours after I delivered my baby girl. Jahlisa did her best to keep me calm and comfortable during labor. She made sure we stuck to my birth plan and despite how chaotic delivery can be she was attentive and made sure all my needs were met. She continues to check on my baby and I post-partum and reminds me to make sure I’m taking care of myself. Her patience, nurturing nature, and passion is unmatched. This is truly her calling and I am truly blessed to have had her as my doula.
