Emily was such a bright light during my early postpartum days. She brought a warm and peaceful presence into our home and seamlessly stepped in to help with whatever was needed-- loading bottle washer, engaging with our toddler, holding/tending to baby, teaching me how to baby wear, cooking a nutritious meal, encouraging me to step outside for a walk, or simply being a kind listening ear. Our family was so grateful to her help as we navigated the transition to a family of 4. I eagerly anticipated her visits each week for the calm and reassurance they provided me. She is so full of knowledge and resources on baby related topics and provides evidence based information which I really valued. You can tell she cares deeply for the families she works with and any family would be absolutely fortunate to have her as part of their journey.

As a first-time mom, I can't imagine having navigated the beautiful but fragile early postpartum days without Emily. Emily kept my husband and I afloat through a combination of emotional, practical, and logistical support/help. Most significantly, I was extremely stressed and struggling with breastfeeding; Emily was the first person to show up at my house and successfully help me feed my baby. She supported me through research, trial & error, moral support, cooking me food, and anything else I needed for weeks until I was finally breastfeeding on my own with more ease. She also helped my husband develop systems around bottle & pump part washing to better support me.
While it is difficult to sum up everything Emily did to support our family during those first few months, it brings tears to my eyes to remember how it felt to have someone who had our backs and was looking out for us as new parents who didn't even know how to change a diaper. Most of the practices we've used moving forward were taught to us or influenced by Emily, including the daily enjoyment and ease with which I babywear using my sully wrap. <3 We're thankful that she was part of our journey!

As healthcare professionals, my husband and I entered parenthood with a significant amount of knowledge. I am a former high-risk labor and delivery nurse, high-risk antepartum and postpartum nurse, and now a lactation consultant. Despite that background, we quickly learned that knowledge alone does not replace support—and that is where Emily became invaluable. What sets Emily apart is her ability to care for the whole family. She recognized that supporting our daughter meant supporting us, our home, and even our dogs. She became an essential part of our support system after our out-of-state family left and my husband returned to work two weeks postpartum. Every morning, Emily brought a sense of calm into our home. Food is our love language, and she often prepared a simple but delicious meal for us. During a season when caring for ourselves felt difficult, those meals were such a gift. Most importantly, Emily poured her attention into our daughter, Tessa. She helped us navigate developmental milestones, troubleshoot bottle refusal, and reassured us through the worries of first-time parenthood. Even with our backgrounds, we benefited greatly from her knowledge and perspective. Emily also gave us confidence. Because of the trust we had in her, I was able to enjoy my first outing without our baby while my best friend was visiting. My husband and I were even able to go out for brunch together, knowing Tessa was in loving and capable hands. And somehow, she also found time to spoil our two dogs. When our hours ended, we were genuinely sad to say goodbye. Emily became part of our village. She helped us create a Care.com profile and continues to encourage us from afar. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had Emily by our side. She provided support, guidance, nourishment, and encouragement exactly when we needed it most. We are better parents because of her. Emily truly mothers the mother, and for that, we will always be grateful.

As first time parents with no local family support, we knew we needed a doula. We didn’t realize how much more than “just help” Emily would provide. She came into our lives in our most vulnerable moments as new parents and made us feel so comfortable, helped us build skills to feel more confident and made me feel so validated and supported postpartum. She taught us everything from how to give our daughter a bath to swaddle skills to nursing tips, along with recommendations to other postpartum services like PT and maternal mental health. This hardly summarizes all she gave our family in those first few weeks. I cried her last day and know she’ll be my first call if we have another kid.

Emily was an incredible support and truly a lifesaver for our mental health as new parents. Her advice was personalized to our needs and wants, and everything she did was to make our lives easier. From batch-cooking meals to sharing nursing tips, we would not have gotten through the first 8-10 weeks without Emily's help. If we have a second child, not only will we hire her again, we will also have her start earlier in the process.

Emily became an extension of me and my husband’s team. It was SO valuable to have someone who I completely trusted to care for my baby while I stepped away for self care. She’s an intent listener who always arrived ready to help us achieve our goals of the day, be it a nap for me, day date with my husband, trying out different nap strategies for my baby, food prep or otherwise. I recommend her highly!

Emily was amazing with our preemie twins, and as first time parents we were incredibly grateful to have her help navigating all the challenges in those first three months. She taught us how to bathe the babies, how to put them in baby wraps and carriers, helped us troubleshoot issues with bottles and breastfeeding, and helped with chores like washing bottles and folding laundry, giving us some much needed relief. Whenever we had a worry or a question she was ready with sound advice and reputable sources to back up her recommendations, and if there was something she couldn't help us with she had a great network of other experts she could refer us to. Her kindness, warmth, and calm was such a welcome presence in the chaos of early parenting, and we would highly recommend her to other parents.

Emily was a lovely presence in our home after our daughter was born; she provided loving, gentle care for our baby. She was also a good thought partner during a critical time and provided some great recommendations and referrals as well!

Emily is literally my baby's favorite doula. My baby smiles immediately when she sees her, calms easily with her and can even fall asleep on her, for context my baby is a Velcro baby who could barely be calmed at all without me. I think that tells a lot about how sweet and great Emily is. She is the most professional, kind and patient doula anybody could ask for. She is extremely easy to work with, and she genuinely loves the baby. I could hear her giggling with my baby all day. She offers a ton of support to both of us that is completely beyond my expectations. She offers help all the time and even when the baby is sleeping she looks to see what she could help with around the house, which lifts a big burden off me and honestly the house looks better every time she comes over.
Emily has been a godsend to our family. She helped us out during my most stressful times when I had to juggle between work crunch season and a baby on a short notice. We got extremely lucky that she had availability. I truly believe every family needs an Emily at whatever stage they are in, and, I know I have said it but I'm going to say it again, she is the best doula anyone can ask for.

Oh my goodness, what a blessing to our family! Emily is so kind and nonjudgmental and especially intuitive. I know for me it can be hard to ask for things and she made me feel really comfortable and at ease. I was healing from an unexpected c-section and she was so good at anticipating my needs and making me feel cherished when I felt so vulnerable. She was very helpful knowledgeable with nursing as well. She's got plenty of tricks up her sleeves, so keep her around as long as you can.

Even if the first few months with our newborn daughter felt like a blur, Emily truly helped us slow down and opened our eyes to all the resources available for us. I really appreciate that she took the time to listen and understand our specific challenges. My wife has some severe joint problems and was worried her physical abilities would be a barrier to bonding with our baby. Emily was so understanding and helped find adaptive solutions that worked for Michelle as well as connecting us with other experts with specialties for her specific concerns.
During a time when the entire world seems focused on your littlest one, Emily was there to remind us to take care of ourselves. It seems obvious, but it's so hard to accept in the moment that we can't be everything we want to as loving parents unless we are the healthiest, happiest versions of ourselves possible. Emily was always did everything she could to make sure my wife and I were at our best, and always in a way that was respectful of our values and privacy. Sometimes that was helping get a meal on the table and sometimes it was just listening to me rant about hospital staff.
We both appreciate her so much and I'm sure you will as well!

As a kind and thoughtful person, Emily is exactly the right type of doula you need to assist you in those crazy, beginning weeks. Knowledgeable and confident, she can assist you without making you feel inadequate. As a second-time mother, she helped me remember soothing techniques I had forgotten, suggested some new baby-wearing techniques that helped me better manage a toddler with a newborn, and helped me find mothers and resources I could use in an area I just moved to. She was just generally reassuring and helpful. I 100% recommend her to anyone looking to hire a postpartum doula.

We couldn’t have enjoyed or appreciated our time with Emily any more than we did. She fit in seamlessly with our family, quietly finding helpful things to do around the house and always managing to attend to whichever child needed her most at that moment. After each session our children begged for her to come back soon. And so did I: even as a 5th time mother, I found Emily’s listening ear and insight into newborns so helpful and comforting in those challenging early weeks.
