Tessa was a joy to work with and exactly what we were looking for in a postpartum doula. Being first-time parents is very daunting and at times overwhelming but we felt more prepared after our six weeks with Tessa. While her background in nursing made her attractive on paper, her calm but confident demeanor is what really made us comfortable having her in our home and put us at ease. She helped us to feel more confidence with everything from bathing our baby to getting rid of a diaper rash. Of course, the time she provides us to sleep through the night is invaluable as well. We had one incident where our son wasn't behaving in his usual demeanor and she immediately noticed it and alerted us to it. She stayed calm and also went with us to the emergency room out of an abundance of caution. Having her there in that situation was very comforting. She is also a joy to be around, which is important when hiring someone who will be in your home and around your family. But of course, the biggest testimonial is how comfortable our son seems to be with Tessa and how well he took to her. We look forward to using her services in other capacities in the future.

We had a wonderful experience with Tessa as our postpartum doula. As first-time parents, we were in need of support and guidance, especially as we navigated nights during our baby’s first few weeks. 

Tessa was an excellent teacher, helping us adjust and learn what we needed for newborn care and feeding — while also providing support and comfort to us and our baby during this transition period. She was kind, patient, highly informed, and gracious, even encouraging us to text her outside of our scheduled sessions with any questions we might have. Our baby was also very at ease with her.

I highly recommend Tessa to any parent navigating postpartum. She made this time much easier for my family!

We had a great experience working with Tessa as a post-partum night doula for six weeks. She took such great care of both myself and my son, and having her partnership was truly transformational for the post-partum experience. She set us both up for success but giving me great tips on his nighttime preferences and what was working for him. She also helped to establish a great nighttime routine that is now paying dividends in great sleep after our six weeks working together. I really appreciated how warm she was with my toddler as well. I can't wait to continue working with Tessa through other care services, and I know both of my kids will be in great hands.

We first met Tessa the night we came home from the hospital with our daughter, and she immediately provided tons of support and reassurance to us as we began this new parenting journey. Throughout her care as a nighttime doula for us, she was communicative and helpful, not only in caring for our newborn, but also with lactating support and generally sharing lots of knowledge for both parents relating to sleeping, breathing, breastfeeding, and beyond.

I still remember one night where our daughter was being quite fussy, but the moment Tessa walked in and picked her up, she began to calm down and smile. Tessa's nighttime visits allowed my wife and I to catch up on sleep, gain confidence in the early stages of parenting, and learn more about what to expect from our newborn at each and every stage.

It was very comforting and helpful to have Tessa for several weeks of postpartum overnight care. Even though it was my second child, it was so helpful to know she would be there at night to provide additional support to help me get some extra sleep and be a sounding board for any questions I had about my newborn and his behavior. Getting extra rest really aided my recovery - I felt much better much quicker after giving birth than I did after my first, where I did not have as much consistent overnight help. In addition to being very kind, one of the best things about Tessa is how punctual and reliable she is. Any changes to our agreed-upon schedule were communicated well in advance, and she was always on time every night and very communicative. This took a huge load of stress off my shoulders during a pretty stressful time. Additionally, I felt very confident leaving my newborn in her care, as her experience and gentle demeanor came through very quickly.

Tessa was an amazing support for our newborn. We had no idea what we were doing, and Tessa was super patient with us, offering us helpful guidance, and listening to our preferences. She is also the utmost professional - always showing up early, communicating effectively, following up for confirmation, and more. All of this together - Tessa is caring and responsible and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Tessa has cared for our son as a night nurse since he was 1.5 month old. She's been professional, punctual, communicative and nurturing. She feeds the baby, changes diapers, and comforts the baby when he becomes fussy. She helped our baby set up a good night feed schedule. It was a great experience working with Tessa!
