Post a testimonial for Robin Dini

We are so happy that we found and hired Robin!! From our first meeting with her through the birth and postpartum meeting, Robin was a constant source of support and advice. She helped us navigate a handful of difficult decisions, and her presence at the birth was so incredibly comforting to both my husband and me. It takes a lot for both of us to feel 100% comfortable around someone, and Robin was absolutely that person for us. We highly recommend her to families looking for a doula!

Robin from Within Motherhood was everything that I could've asked for from a doula! She was enjoyable to work with and have with us while we prepared for and during the birth of our first baby. Robin was by my side for 12 hours of labor, from early laboring at home through to the delivery at the hospital, making me feel reassured and empowered the whole time. Robin was super helpful in that she prepared a visual birth plan based on my ideal birth plan. The visual plan was very easy for the doctors and nurses to reference, which they did throughout my delivery. Thankfully my birth progressed naturally and we didn't have any tough decisions to make, but if that were to arise, I would have wanted someone like Robin that is knowledgable, calm and cool to help explain options and make any decisions. Highly recommend Robin!! I hope to get to work with Robin again.

Robin was an amazing doula throughout my pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. We clicked with her instantly during our first meeting over Zoom, and our in-person prenatal visits felt like we were hanging out with a good friend, who just happened to be very knowledgeable about pregnancy and birth! My pregnancy went into my 41st week, and I was a frustrated and anxious wreck in the days leading up to my induction. Robin stayed in daily touch during that time, and she was so supportive and understanding.
During labor, Robin was such a calm and friendly presence, and she really lightened the mood! She became instant friends with my medical providers, and they kept her informed about what was happening while I took a nap. My husband was also confident enough with her present that he was able to take a break and go get some food. She had helpful suggestions and advice when we needed to make decisions during my labor, but she also intuitively knew when to step outside and let my husband and I discuss things privately.
There was a point near the end of my labor where I felt everybody else’s attention (understandably!) go towards the baby, and it made me feel a bit panicky. Then I looked at Robin, and she was looking right at me and said, “I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.” This was probably a minor, seemingly insignificant moment to anybody else, but for me, it was so tremendously reassuring, and exactly what I needed to hear.
She is also an excellent photographer! She has a very natural creative style, and our maternity/newborn pictures came out wonderfully. It was also great to have the same person as both a photographer and doula, because it reduced the number of people I had to coordinate with in the weeks leading up to and after birth.
We wholeheartedly recommend Robin. You will not be disappointed!

With the amount of changes that happened with my pregnancy Robin was very accommodating and understanding. I was high risk with some serious complications that included life and death. I was glad to have her along the journey and help me cope but also find me the postpartum help needed as well. I highly recommend a doula no matter the type of birth you end up having. We also did newborn photos and she honestly was always a rockstar with my toddler who loved her. I can't wait to see the pictures too.

My husband and I moved from Germany to Connecticut 1.5 years ago for work and for this reason have no family nearby. We have been parents since the end of May and thanks to Robin we have been able to cope with the first few weeks as new parents. She was always available with help and advice and also helped me through the
baby blues and comforted me when it got too much. We are incredibly grateful for Robin's help and can only recommend her as a doula to anyone!
Thank you so much Robin!

Robin was such an invaluable part of our support team before and during the recent birth of our daughter (our first child). She helped us navigate the many unknowns: Helping us, among other things, put together a birth plan and figure out what to put on a baby shower registry. She reached out to me often during the months leading up to the birth to check on me and to offer words of encouragement and wisdom. During the birth itself, Robin was such a comforting presence, providing both practical guidance and moral support during my 12 hours of labor in the hospital. I was especially grateful for her support of my partner, who otherwise would've been alone with me for those many hours (I don't think I appreciated beforehand how we would often be alone as the midwives and nurse had other patients to attend to! So having someone around who knew what was going on/what to expect was a huge help to us newbies). I chose to have an unmedicated birth and was in agony and insensible for the majority of that time. Robin made sure I was staying hydrated and offered advice to my partner as to how he could support me. She also made sure he was eating and had the opportunity to take breaks. Thanks so much Robin!

We are so lucky we found Robin to be our birth doula for the birth of our first child. From the first time we met her, there was an instant connection and she had such a calming and grounding energy that I knew she would be so wonderful to have on my birth journey.
Robin helped to put together two birth plans for me, the primary one for vaginal delivery and a back-up plan for C-section. She was a wealth of information as I asked questions about the various parts of the birth plans and worked closely with me to edit the plans to reflect my ultimate birth goals. And special shout out to her simple but informative pictographic format! My midwife group was so impressed and passed the plan around the office “oohing” and “aahing”.
During the actual birth, Robin was a steadying presence for me and my husband and she guided me through an empowering birth experience. She was an advocate and protector of my birth plan wishes, and worked so seamlessly with the nurses and midwife delivery team.
We also hired Robin for the first night home, and that was an absolute game changer! Getting a good nights rest after a few days in the hospital before embarking on this new parenthood journey really helped start us off on the right foot.
We would absolutely recommend Robin for her birth and postpartum doula services!

I am so grateful that I found Robin to support me as a doula for my second birth. My first birth was a traumatic C section and I was planning for a VBAC – but even more importantly than the route of delivery, I was hoping for a birth where I felt empowered and my wishes were heard and respected. From my first consult with Robin, she validated my feelings about my previous birth and made my hopes for my next birth feel important and attainable. I worked with her to put together birth ‘preferences’ that covered multiple scenarios that I felt very good about. At the end of my pregnancy Robin encouraged me to stand my ground with providers that were pushing unwanted interventions, and I ended up going into spontaneous labor like I had hoped. During labor Robin provided wonderful support for me and my husband and continued helping me advocate for myself to avoid unnecessary interventions. I ended up getting my VBAC and felt empowered and in control the whole time - and I know that Robin played an integral part in helping me achieve that. I also hired Robin to take newborn photos at our postpartum visit in our home, which came out so beautiful and natural. I highly recommend her to anyone that wants an empowering birth experience, no matter how their baby comes into this world!

I had nothing but a positive experience working with Robin as my doula and birth photographer for my 3rd child. She was attentive and communicative during my pregnancy and was exactly what I needed support wise during birth. She takes the most incredible photos along the way and was amazing with my two other boys throughout the process. I highly recommend Robin and while I am not planning to add to our family I've already discussed having her take photos of our family as the years go by - she's that good!

My partner and I knew we wanted a doula to guide us through my pregnancy and the birth of our first child and Robin was above and beyond what we originally envisioned. From our initial interview to the last time Robin came to our home to check in on our family, following the birth of our baby, our interactions were easy and natural and it felt as though we had been friends for a long time. Robin is knowledgeable, has a family and experiences of her own that make her more than qualified to lead any expecting parents through the pregnancy and birthing process. She has a calm presence and is always available, via text, call, in-person or email, to answer questions or provide insights. We highly recommend Robin, if looking for a doula! Added bonus: she's a professional photographer and the pictures she took of our labor were beautiful!

I can’t put in to words what Robins support meant to our family as we welcomed our first baby. Her experience as a mom and her expertise as a doula were invaluable.
Robin has the most warm, kind energy. We met with several doulas but from the first minute, we knew Robin was the one. She was the perfect addition to the room as baby boy made his transition in to the world. In the weeks leading up to my induction she was available to answer questions and helped us create the perfect birth plan.
We chose to have Robin photograph labor and delivery as well. We are so lucky that she was able to so beautifully capture the moment that we became a family of three.
We love Robin and will never be able to thank her enough for her love and support.

Robin was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, funny and versatile. We were first time parents and didn’t know what to expect. That’s when we decided to find a doula. In our first meeting with Robin, we felt safe and hopeful! She helped us with our birth plan, identify qualities that were important to us when we were looking for pediatrician, and ensured our home was ready for the baby’s arrival. It was incredibly helpful to have her when we needed to make hard decisions in regards to our labor. In those moments, Robin was essential in navigating the emotions that came up with changing our birth plan. She did it with much grace and dedication to both parents experiences. We appreciated having Robin in our labor and postpartum journeys.

Robin Dini is an outstanding doula. When I first read her profile, I knew she would be a great fit for us. Then when we interviewed with her on zoom, I felt a strong connection and realized that she was the person we needed to guide us through the birth of our first baby. She eased my nerves about the induction process. She maintained contact connection through the days leading up to my induction, while providing educational information about the process. During my hospital stay, she offered me advice on procedures, and reminded me that my voice mattered, as I was in control of all the decisions leading up to the birth of our baby. Having her by our side helped my partner feel more comfortable and allowed him to take breaks when needed. Her emotional support during and after the birth of our baby helped me through my postpartum stage. We are forever grateful for Robin's love and support during this very special time in our life! ??

Robin Dini was the best person I could have asked for to help me get through pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. She was totally sensitive to my preferences and requests, and worked well with not just me but also my husband.
Here are a few highlights: She has a great sense of humor, proactively checks in with her clients, shares or finds resources as needed, schedules a postpartum visit to help debrief from what is often a whirlwind experience, works with moms and dads, and cares about your full life picture, helps set up a nursery, creates birth plans, and takes beautiful photographs.
She was with me during my most fragile and fearful moments and I never once felt judged. Just so so grateful for Robin. She was a best fried and surrogate mother. In hindsight, I think we probably should have named our child after her. :) I'm so grateful that people like Robin exist in the world. She is an incredibly special human being and gifted doula.

First time dad here. I can't imagine having gone through the birth of our daughter without Robin by our side. I would whole-heartedly recommed her to anyone looking for doula support. Here's why:
#1: Robin Builds A Real Connection With Her Clients
Robin invested the time in the weeks leading up to delivery to really get to know us: our story of how we got this point, our fears and anxieties, how we wanted this experience to go (as much as one can really plan), etc.. After building such a strong connection in the weeks leading up to delivery, I had 110% confidence going to the hospital that Robin knew what my wife needed both physically and emotionally and that she was going to advocate for her from the start to end of this process - and she did! I really don't know how we would have done this without her.
#2: Robin Supports Dads Just As Much As Moms
Being a new dad is hard! I had a baby girl to take care of and I wanted to take care of my wife and help her recover as quickly as possible. It's a lot. Robin would check in with me often to see how I was holding up. She also spent time with me to answer all my questions and she helped me learn how to change diapers, swaddle, burp, etc.
#3: Robin Is An Amazing Birth Photographer Too!
We opted to add a birth photography session to our package with Robin. I was blown away by the beautiful moments she captured during labor and delivery. There is A LOT going on during labor and once you get through it, it can all seem like a blur. Having these photos now help us reflect back on the experience and the special moments we had together as we welcomed our girl into the world.
---
We ultimately formed a really special relationship with Robin. Two weeks post birth we are still exhchanging texts. We hired a doula and got a friend. I think that is a testament to the kind of special person Robin is. You'll love her.

Robin was so wonderful throughout the entire doula experience. From zoom calls, continual text communication, and in-person visits during my second and third trimester, to in-person support and advocacy during my delivery and afterward. I would 100% recommendation Robin's doula services to anyone. She was amazing!

Robin was a pleasure to work with. She has a presence that makes you feel comfortable and trusting, almost as if you’ve always known her, which is very important when inviting someone into your home and to care for your newborn baby. I felt as though Robin treated our son as he was her own, she truly cares for and loves babies.

Robin and I met what feels like a lifetime ago when we were both working in different careers (in the same field.) She knew I was pregnant before I could even tell her....and when she told me she was studying to become a doula, it was a no-brainer to ask her to be a part of our experience.
She is very, very informative and when she didn't have an immediate answer to one of my questions, found it for me in a very timely manner. She is kind and calm, both of which were appreciated during what can be a very stressful time. She carefully plotted out with us our birth plan, and was sure to remind us that it could go any which way....which allowed us to prepare for anything that came. And all throughout the pregnancy, she was on call and so very good to check in on me/us often.
I unknowingly went into labor and spent most of early labor alone because of it, though I was ironically texting with her throughout that time. Once we both knew what was going down, she got to the hospital as quickly as she could and stayed with us through the delivery of our baby girl. She was one of the first humans to hold our little one and she will always be a part of her birth story.
In addition to being a support to us during the birthing of our daughter, she also photographed for us the experience, pulling in from her former career (where we met) into her new one. When we were released from the hospital, we hired her to come do a few overnights at our home to help us settle in. I cannot speak highly enough of this offering or stress how vital it was to have those hours of sleep. She would wake me to nurse and then take the babe to burp/change/swaddle back to sleep. And she kept the pooch company, too!
10/10 would hire her again in a HEARTBEAT!
