I knew I wanted a doula but wasn't sure I could find one who matched my values and understood my wants and needs for my birth, but once I reached out to Helen and she and I connected, I knew right away she was the one for us. She is amazing help in all ways - preparation, emotional support, communication, labor and delivery, education, resource sharing, and so much more. She was knowledgeable, compassionate, and calming throughout the whole pregnancy, labor/delivery, and postpartum process. Additionally, I can't thank her enough for being there for my birth, I don't think my husband and I would have gotten through it without her. She made sure everything ran smooth and was a constant shoulder to lean on. If you're on the fence about a doula - hire Helen. Worth the expense and she will not disappoint!

I  had the pleasure of having Helen as my Doula for postpartum care and highly recommended her exceptional services. Throughout her visits to our home, she brought with her not only humble expertise, but also a sense of warmth and calm. Being a first time mother felt very nerve-racking as did taking help, but from the first day Helen was with us she was able to immerse herself into our family and made me feel comfortable and supported. Her positive demeanor is infectious, making even the hardest days of postpartum seem brighter and more manageable. Helen's ability to keep our newborn daughter content and well cared for put all of my fear and anxiety towards being away from her at ease. Every time she entered the room my daughter would hear her voice and start glowing. Helen would play, sit, bounce, read and rest with my newborn for hours at a time. In the midst of massive snow storms or trying to work around our crazy schedule, she was always there for us. In addition to being an excellent doula, having Helen around for me and my family was a pleasure. She has a wonderful personality that makes her not just a doula, but a great friend. I am forever  grateful for the time she spent with us and the care she provided my family. My daughter and household thrived under her care. I believe anyone in the community who receives Helen’s services will be well-served.

I chose Helen because she was extremely supportive of my desire to vbac at home. My goal was a vaginal delivery, and if transfer to a hospital necessary that's fine. She was so supportive the entire pregnancy and offered tons of resources and handouts for me to process trauma, work through my feelings, and support a vaginal birth. She responded to my texts promptly and during labor was with me the entire time. She made sure I felt comfortable and safe and all my preferences were adhered to when we did transfer to the hospital for pain relief. I will use Helen again if we don't move away before then. :)

As I was pregnant with my 3rd baby I wanted a doula to be there for me and my birth story. My OB recommended Helen Martin and we set up our first meeting (meet and greet). Helen was very kind, intelligent, knowledgeable, and caring. We liked her from the start.
My birth progressed rather quickly and she met us at the hospital. She was never pushy but rather very supportive and encouraging. During my labor she was holding my hand and praying for me, rubbing my shoulders and being a very calming/soothing presence for us in the room. I couldn't be any more happier with our experience having her as our doula. She was simply amazing.
If you are looking for a great doula, look no further ??

She was amazing. She always responded to my text right away when I had questions or updates, showed up to the hospital when she said she was when I was getting evaluated. She showed up before I did when I was in labor, she helped me with my birth plan as well, I ended up getting a doula when I was thirtyish weeks. She always gave me tips on what I can do to help my contractions and progress them I tried them all, when I was actually in labor she followed my birth plan despite me screaming in pain and saying no, she was sooooo patient and comfort me like I asked her too. She reminded me to take breaths and moan the way it would relax then even if it was hard for me to do. Reminded the nurses the visitors I did not want. After I had baby my leg was painfully cramping and my foot she massaged it out for me and asked the nurses to bring me socks as well because I was really cold and it was one leg and foot the other one was fine. She made sure I didn't need anything else before I left. Constantly checking in on me after I had baby.  She is amazing! I couldn't recommend her enough. If you're pregnant and thinking of a doula ,you should do it. She will not disappoint you.

Our doula Helen Martin was absolutely wonderful! At our first meeting with Helen, we felt immediately at ease and heard. Helen's passion for birth and the journey leading up to it is so evident! Helen was very intentional about taking the time to get to know our hopes and desires for our birth experience. With this being our first birth experience, we were eager to learn from Helen and glean from her experience to help guide us as we prepared for this journey. Helen was available to answer questions throughout my pregnancy and would go out of her way to send articles, links, and helpful information pertaining to questions we had. Helen also joined us for two birth classes, which was a lot of fun and showed her committment to our birth journey.

On the day of our birth, Helen was sick and unable to attend our daughter's birth. However, Helen had already planned ahead in the event of an unexpected sickness or emergency like this. She had a back-up doula ready and had made sure that we had met her back-up doula prior to the event of our birth. This brought my husband and I great assurance knowing that a plan was in place. Though Helen was unable to attend our birth, she was nevertheless a huge part of our overall birth experience. Her involvement and investment both before and after the birth of our daughter was immensely valuable and made us feel incredibly supported, empowered, and encouraged.

Helen is very kind, assuring, and personable; everything we hoped for in a doula and now a dear friend!

I first met Helen later on in my pregnancy and she was so willinging to help me along my journey as well the birth of my son. She came to my house to get to know more about me and about what I was looking for in a doula and how I wanted my birth plan to go. She was so supportive in every decision that my partner and I made and had some great advice and tools that I can use during labor and delivery. I ended up having an emergency c section and she stayed the whole time and even after when I was in recovery. I am so thankful I had her by my side to help me in really hard decision making and staying calm.

My experience working with Helen was absolutely amazing. She was such a huge support before, during, and after giving birth. Especially for a first time mom not knowing what to expect or what is normal Helen really was informative. She was with me every step of the way and was open for phone calls  and chats any time of the day or night. My birth was really hard because I had to be induced and it wasn't anything like I thought it would be.  She held my hand and gave me soo much support. She was wonderful for both me and my husband. Helen is friendly and laid back. I never felt pressured to do or except anything I didn't want. I really felt like Helen truly listened to me and spoke up for what I wanted.  She showed me ways to relax my body and mind. I definitely will be giving Helen a call when I get blessed with my next baby.
