My partner and I decided to hire Amy as our birth doula for my first pregnancy. Going into my pregnancy, I didn't know what to expect and was looking for someone to help guide me through the non-medical side of pregnancy, birth, newborns etc. Having a "higher risk" pregnancy due to having type one diabetes, I had doctors appointments, ultrasounds, and checkups galore for the entirety of my pregnancy. I decided to go with a birth doula rather than a midwife because of the fact that I wanted someone to support me during the emotional and physical part of pregnancy and labour. Amy was the perfect fit for us, providing lots of resources, helpful tips, as well as having someone to advocate for me during my labour. I felt that without Amy I would have given up on my goal to have a natural birth and gone for an epidural. She was there to make sure I knew I could do it myself and we ended up having a quick natural birth and Amy made my experience so seamless. I highly recommend her to anyone going through a pregnancy.

Amy swooped in to support our family as a night doula when our first baby was just 8 weeks old, following a bad experience with someone we contracted through an agency. Her calm demeanor combined with the care she puts into all of work immediately put us all at ease. She made healthy, nutritious breakfasts and snacks with lots of variety to keep me healthy and well fed while I was breastfeeding. We also struggled with breastfeeding and Amy adapted to support all the various techniques we tried such as combo feeding, triple feeding and using a nursing supplementer. At Amy's guidance, I also tried the 24-hour cure, and this was an amazing experience that worked to boost my milk supply while also help me emotionally feel more balanced, happier and connected. Amy has a gentle way about her and she does a hundred little things to make your home a more beautiful environment (like lighting a candle or starting a diffuser, making sure your plants are watered). I could just rest easier knowing she was in our home with our little one. She is knowledgeable about supplements and she is a certified car seat technician too! Oh, and our cat and dog love her too! What more can I say - our family just loves Amy and our postpartum experience was truly made because of her!

Amy was a godsend throughout my pregnancy and birth, I couldn't have done it without her! Having the extra support and guidance made my first pregnancy and birthing experience wonderful. Amy is really experienced and knowledgeable, kind and caring. I would highly recommend hiring her as your doula!

Our experience with Amy was outstanding.  As a first time dad, I felt a desire to have a reference who was experienced and was separate from family.  Amy's temperment was calming and reassuring, she was comfortable making suggestions but took care to balance offering guidance without dictating or judging.

Having Amy with us for the majority of the delivery time in the hospital was invaluable. Her expertise with the delivery process gave us confidence and removed uncertainity.  She helped established a sense of normalcy in an otherwise new place and daunting time. We never had to worry or be concerned about process errors or inconsequential issues, Amy was either able to reassure us what was "normal" or was able to advise regarding action steps when something came up that was serious or urgent.  Having a set of eyes and ears who are a part of your team was highly valuable.

Amy offered post delivery support and it was greatly appreciated.  Getting the first days and weeks right requires lots of input from experienced people and Amy contributed to our successful transition into parenthood.

Personally, the countless text messages and random inquires of mine which she answered, put my mind at ease.  I was glad to have an outlet for my questions, other than my partner.  I would strongly suggest everyone consider using a Doula and would happily recommend Amy Jefferson to friends and family.

I had the wonderful opportunity to have Amy as my birth and postpartum doula. She quickly became a valuable part of our family team. Her guidance prior to birth for both my husband and I helped us create a calmer situation when things got real very quickly. I would highly recommend Amy. She is a kind and gentle soul and provided exactly what we needed for support.

Amy was an amazing support! Her gentle, grounding presence was much appreciated, as was her unassuming guidance for my hubby. I would highly recommend Amy if you are looking for an open-minded doula who respects your wishes. Thank you Amy ??
