Sunshine was an amazing doula. She went out of her way to make sure I felt ready and prepared for the birth. She was available by text or call basically from the moment we signed a contract with her. She never made me feel like a burden and always seemed happy to help. During the actual birth she was everything I didn't know I needed. After my first birth going exactly the way I hoped it wouldn't we looked for a doula with our second. She never did anything that wasn't exactly what I needed at that moment. She was very in tune with everything happening. She came for a postpartum visit and I asked her to move in with us. If you are looking for a doula, you found her. She's the one.

As a first time mommy, dealing with all the questions, uncertainty and fear of the big moment was no easy task. Having the chance to meet and work with Sunshine was such a beautiful experience. Given the logistics (I am living in nyc), we did zoom sessions and it worked perfectly. I cannot emphasize strongly enough how happy I was with the support she provided throughout this amazing journey called pregnancy and child birth. 

I wholeheartedly recommend her services: she is very knowledgeable ( great info and support for both natural and C-Section delivery), compassionate, fun and one of the few professionals I dealt with throughout my pregnancy that was open to any questions, did live demonstrations, recommended great resources and constantly followed up with me and offered great advise each and every time I spoke with her. It is very rare to find someone you can connect with and she really made it easy - and that is no easy task when you are limited to zoom online sessions and dealing with one pregnant hormonal lady-:). I was also super happy to know that she offers post-partum support and can answer any questions you might have on recovery, child care and that tricky business called breastfeeding.

Highly recommned and looking forward to continue my relationship with her through my second (currently still in the works) pregnancy!

Sunshine is my favorite doula! We used her for our first birth 5 years ago and for our pandemic baby last year. During the birth of our first son she was attentive and there to answer any questions I had, which were a lot, even in the middle of the night. She was thoughtful in her approach to our needs and wishes and didn't try to stop me or shame me for changing my mind about an epidural. She was 100% supportive and educated us on anything we chose. For our second she was our rock in an uncertain time. With covid and hospitals and protocols, she had unwavering confidence in me and that really helped to calm my mind. She was respectful of our covid wishes and even quarantined the week before my due date. The boy was a week late and she still stayed quarantine. Without her I don't think I would have had a second, and I don't think I could have had the first. She is vital to any birthing team!

Sunshines contribution to my home birth was not only incredibly helpful, but also an eye opening experiencing to the necessity of having a doula.  She was gentle, kind, loving, and had a trick up her sleeve for just about every step of my birthing process.  If I had to pick one word to describe her presence, it would be "safe".  Her ability to assist me in a calm and reassuring way made me feel like I was fully capable of birthing my baby safely. As a woman going through my first labor,  I didn't realize how heavily I would lean on her. I am so thankful she was there. 
Leading up to the birth, Sunshine was very communicative.  She sat down with my partner and I and really walked us through every odd question that we had and what we were hoping to achieve by having her there.  She adapted to my birth plan beautifully and came fully prepared with everything from snacks, "laborade", and tools to help make me more comfortable.  She also showed up within an hour of me calling.  I was her priority and that calmed my nerves a lot.
After my daughter was born, sunshine was incremental in assisting my adjustment into motherhood.  She came to my home several times over the weeks following my labor.  As a lactation consultant, she was able to really help me sink into the groove of breastfeeding She provided subtle guidance while reminding me of my own natural intuitions as a new mother.  My partner also gleaned a lot of insight into navigating the waters of fatherhood.  Sunshine assisted in just about anything I needed help with - from helping with cleaning so I could rest, to creating natural solutions to help ease my healing process, while never making me feel like I was asking too much.
We couldn't be more grateful for all of the help, love, guidance and support we received from Sunshine.   You are in good hands if you choose to work with her.
