Post a testimonial for Hannah Sackett
Hannah is a doula dream come true! She provided amazing support the last few weeks of pregnancy, during birth, and postpartum. She has a warm, gentle, loving demeanor while at the same time being an active and incredibly helpful support person throughout the whole process. She really took the time to get to know me, my family, my past birth experience, and my vision for the current birth experience. She knew I wanted an unmedicated birth at a birth center, and with that vision she provided resources to prep my mind and body to allow that vision to manifest (and it did, in the most seamless way)!
She educated me on positioning and movement techniques the last few weeks in pregnancy which helped to ease any discomfort and maximize the optimal pelvic position. During birth she provided loving touch which was so comforting, words of encouragement that really helped me in the moment, and reminders for my husband on ways he can be the best support. In the hours after birth she made sure I was taken care of, she helped with my placenta encapsulation process, as well as take incredibly beautiful and powerful birth photos, per my request, that I will cherish for a lifetime. She was genuinely interested in how I was doing postpartum, checking in on myself and my baby.
If another baby is in the cards for me I absolutely will be using Hannah again, and definitely recommend her to any mama out there looking for a doula who provides the most loving support!
Hannah was exactly the support we needed in pregnancy, labor, & birth. She allowed us to remain the experts of our unique experience while providing invaluable resources (online materials, books, talking), affirmation, & holding space for us so beautifully. The week leading up to the birth of our daughter was really special, & Hannah was there for us fully. I felt so seen & supported. In active labor & birth, Hannah shined so brightly as a foundation for my partner & me to metaphorically stand on. She assured us what I was going through was normal. She held strong to my birth preferences in an environment where we did not have the most ideal hospital staff. Hannah was an amazing part of our birth team. I feel so proud & grateful for the birth we experienced together.
From her first email response to her parting words, Hannah made me feel genuinely cared for and respected. She is professional but warm, upbeat but a calm presence during labor. I appreciated that she trusted my intuitions as a fourth-time mom, but also asked good questions, gave knowledgeable advice, and provided ample resources. She is passionate about what she does and connects in a kind and deeply human way. It was a gift to have her there for the birth of my baby girl! And her write-up of the birth—recording the progression of labor and details I might otherwise forget—was so beautifully and thoughtfully written! Thank you, Hannah!!!
We worked with Hannah as our doula for the birth of our second child, and couldn't have been happier with the decision. After a 24+ hour labor & delivery with our first child, one of the biggest areas we wanted to focus on was preparing my body to be able to labor more effectively and Hannah was so great at providing resources and tools for this. Both my husband and I felt like we had so much more agency and knowledge this time around and Hannah played a huge role in that.
Hannah also provided an entire google folder full of useful documents that we could access - everything from what to pack in our hospital bag to pelvic floor workouts to preparing older siblings for baby. Hannah was always available to us via email/phone/text and always responded promptly. During labor & delivery, Hannah was a calming presence while still providing support in helping us make decisions about our next steps, and also to keep labor progressing. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hannah to anyone looking for a birth doula in the Twin Cities area.
Hannah was an amazing and calming presence to have around during birth and while preparing for labor and delivery. She was super informative about the birth process and instilled a lot of confidence and peace surrounding our birth plan and throughout labor as well. Both my husband and I were so happy to have her support and as an integral part of our birth team as a constant source of encouragement and reassurance. My husband was worried about a doula taking over his support role but Hannah only highlighted and increased my husband's ability to be a greater partner for my labor and delivery of our baby girl :) We are beyond thankful to have had Hannah as our Doula!
I had a great experience with Hannah as my doula. She communicated directly and clearly during the prenatal visits. She also provided some great resources for my pregnancy and birth. During my labor and delivery she was very supporative and a calming presence. She helped guide me to move during my labor so the baby could get into the right position. I'd recommend Hannah to anyone who would like a doula for the birth of their child.
We are so happy we were able to have Hannah as our doula! As a first time mom, I was anxious about labor but she helped me feel confident that my body was made for this. She also helped us better understand some of the processes going on at the hospital while we waited for my contractions to get closer. This was especially nice since there aren't always nurses in the room during that waiting period- not to mention Hannah is great company! :)
I am so grateful to Hannah for her calm and confident presence during my labor and afterwards, and for the wealth of knowledge and resources she offered during prenatal and postpartum visits. I felt listened to, affirmed, and supported in my decisions. I appreciated Hannah reflecting back to me what I had described or wanted - she clearly listens well and puts the birthing person's preferences and desires first.
Hannah is an awesome doula! She brings such a sense of calm and peace to a major life event. Initially she set us up with lots of resources to comb about all subjects from labor positions to preparing snacks for labor. She made sure both myself and my husband felt comfortable with her and the process so we were ready for the big day. Leading up to birth she checked in multiple times and her encouragement started weeks before the due date. Once labor commenced she showed care and brought many tips and tricks to the birth center. She captured many beautiful moments from our labor and also supported both parents throughout. After she was so thoughtful and left us snacks for our first day with a little one. She had many resources after birth and helped us find an at home massage therapist. Hannah is a special doula! I would highly recommend her to support you during this major life event!
We had a wonderful experience with Hannah. She's part of memories I'll never forget and I love that. Hannah captured amazing moments while I was in labor. I would have her for every birth. I thank Hanna for being amazing and showing the best support for Mario and I.
I'm so glad Hannah was our doula--she was knowledgeable, relaxed, flexible, and fun! Her expertise and calming presence let my husband and I focus on each other during our son's birth, and we are so grateful for her support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
For the birth of cour second child, we knew we wanted a doula. We found Hannah through the Minnesota Birth Center, and I knew at our initial zoom call she would be wonderful! Her open and caring personality combined with her knowledge and professionalism made a lasting impression.
Hannah was a vital part of my birthing team, willing to do anything to help and coach. She was diligent in fulfilling my wishes and requests for birth and her role, and was a peaceful presence throughout labor and delivery. After our son was born, he had complications that required a NICU stay. Hannah was there for us through the difficult first hours, and offered generous support of every kind after birth. She truly has a heart for her birthing families; she is open and loving and completely dedicated to giving mothers the best support during such an impactful event. I highly recommend Hannah!
Hannah made me feel so safe and confident throughout my pregnancy and birth. Her calm and validating demeanor really put me at ease, especially when I experienced some complications that changed my birth plan. She answered my questions and was hands-on when I needed it, but she also stepped back and helped empower my husband and me to work together as a team throughout my labor and birth. We are both so grateful Hannah was our doula for the birth of our first baby and would recommend her to anyone!
Hannah was wonderful. I was actually contracted with another Doula who ended up being at a different birth when I went into labor and Hannah stepped in last minute and we couldn't have been more satisfied with her presence. From aromatherapy to ease my nauseau, holding a waterbottle with a straw to my lips because I hadn't released my partner's hands from a white-knuckled grip long enough for either of us to do it, to having nurses dim lights for us right when I was thinking it was too bright. She was helpful to the point of reading my mind, and never invasive. She was calm and cool and we were grateful. An excellent doula. Would recommend whole-heartedly and would use her again.
Hannah was with us throughout the labor process and birth of our daughter, and was an important presence - my birth experience was hard, and I could not have made it through it without Hannah's support! She is a positive, kind, approachable person. From our first conversation, it was clear we could be totally open and honest with her. During labor, she was a calm, uplifting presence. She encouraged me when I was feeling discouraged and made sure both I and my husband were cared for the whole time. I definitely trusted Hannah the most of anyone on my care team and was willing to express to her feelings or frustrations I didn't share with my providers. Really grateful for her.
Hannah knew what to do from the very beginning of my labor until the end. She suggested different positions, served as an excellent communicator with the midwives, frequently offered food and hidration, and helped my husband in his role as birth partner. I couldn't have carried on with labor without her as my guide. She was very knowledgeable of relaxation techniques and excelled in helping me stay in a calm state of mind throughout the whole experience. What I valued the most is that she was very supportive. Her gentle encouragement provided me with strength to cope with each contraction. I will forever be grateful to Hannah Sackett.
Giving birth with Hannah by my side was a warm, supported experience. From the very beginning she actively sought to understand my needs and desires and to do whatever she could to ease the process. She stayed in touch via text in the middle of the night even when contractions had barely started. We laughed and chatted at the birth center like old friends. She kept us from getting too discouraged when labor stalled and we needed to go back home. And when my water broke and we needed to return to the birth center that same night, Hannah was right there. She empowered my husband to provide counterpressure, which gave so much relief as things grew more intense. She knew that my previous attempt at a water birth had failed because I got too cold, so she advocated for keeping the water warm and kept me relaxed and comfortable so I could have the water birth I really wanted. Even while pushing, I felt calm and capable. And when we first held our little girl, Hannah clearly shared in our joy. Overall, Hannah was a source of peace and courage with her kind words, helpful suggestions, and positive presence.
