Molly supported our family in her role as a postpartum doula. As a first-time mom, I was nervous about "doing things correctly." Molly's warm and comforting nature made us feel validated and encouraged. She helped us to set up our spaces to optimize for our newborn. She showed us how to give our baby his first bath. That will be a memory I will cherish forever. Molly is knowledgeable and caring and a joy to spend time with. We feel so lucky to have Molly in our lives.

Molly was absolutely invaluable for what our family needed as a post-partum doula. My husband and I are first time parents, the first parents amongst friends in Seattle, and we do not have any family close to us. No one nor any amount of reading could have fully prepared us for bringing baby home for the very first time. I will never forget the first time that Molly came over (2 days after arriving home) and her first question was, "How are you doing"? With the sleep deprivation, overstimulation, and 2 days of constantly questioning my every move and decision, I immediately starting crying. I was not prepared for how much I really needed to hear those words, and to hear them from someone that felt safe, knowledgeable, and there for me. We spent our first meeting (roughly 4 hours) just peppering Molly with question after question, and at the end of the meeting I already felt like a different person - reenergized and more confident as a first time mom knowing that I had Molly there to help.

Throughout our time working with Molly she was such a great listener and made us feel so safe to talk about where we were in our journey. She would help us work through situations that at the time felt like the hardest decision we had to make and, as a mother, situations when I was putting immense pressure on myself. Sharing her knowledge and experiences she had with other families opened our eyes and allowed us to work through things based on what we felt worked best for our family. Our confidence continued to build over time to the point we were able to leave the house, without baby, knowing that everything was going to be okay.

I truly cannot imagine what our experience would have been without Molly. Her expertise, help, and overall calm demeanor were invaluable for us.

My partner and I strongly recommend Molly as a doula for the following reasons: 1. She is knowledgeable. Molly is up-to-date on all of the latest CDC recommendations, provides tips and tricks for making raising a newborn easier, and has cross-cultural experience. For example, when we brought home our newborn, Molly taught things that new parents may not immediately think about, such as best practices for labeling freezer storage bags of breastmilk or how to best hold a baby to burp them.  2. She is nurturing. My partner and I engaged with Molly both as a day and night doula. During the day, we saw how Molly catered her approach to what our LO needed. She took the initiative to get tasks done, such as changing a diaper, within the first minutes of having her come over. 3. She is conscientious. As a new parent, sleep was a top priority for me, and Molly made our nights with our newborn so easy and restful. She would prepare everything I needed to pump; she would feed the baby; and then clean everything up so that I could get some sleep. She made she to ask my preferences: e.g., where she should leave the pump parts and if I needed water or a snack.

I hope other families have the pleasure of working with Molly.

Molly worked with our family for 5 weeks, beginning the first week our baby was home from the hospital. Molly's calm presence helped us grow from completely panicked new parents to confident slightly older parents. No question was too silly (including "what the heck is a dream feed" and "do you think baby needs the nose Frida!?!?"). Molly considered each question thoughtfully, shared helpful information covering and beyond the question, and often followed up with more details the next time she saw us. She'd point out little things we could do to help make nighttimes easier. When new milestones approached, she made sure we understood what was coming next. I had trouble breastfeeding; sometimes Molly's gentle encouragement was the only thing preventing 2am tears. We loved our "Molly nights" - we could sleep soundly knowing our whole family was in capable hands.

While I did not leverage Molly as my birth doula, I know that she will bring that same calm, sweet, encouraging presence to the delivery room. Anyone would be lucky to work with Molly!

Molly came to our family on day 2 of my son's life. And we have been grateful each day since. Molly's calm and caring energy made us feel so lucky to have been matched with her as a doula. She helped with so many things, from first pumping, bottle feed and baths to overnights and first smiles. It was clear that Molly loved our child and was so very tender with him. Those first few months are overwhelming as a new mom and Molly became a friend and a confidant. We would sit together in the middle of the night some nights just chatting as I fed the baby. Although Molly's doula duties only lasted out baby's first few months, she has remained a huge part of our family's life. She is one of my closest friends and a true part of our family now. You will feel so blessed once having Molly in your life!
