Aleca saved us. When we were brand new and completely exhausted parents, Aleca gave us rest. She gave us peace of mind. She coached us and educated us and calmed us. Aleca has such a depth of experience, knowledge and understanding of infants, the intricacies of new parenthood, lactation stuff...I could go on and on. 

She was generous with her time and even went to brunch with us to help us navigate some questions and fears etc. 

I could not recommend entrusting your infant more with Aleca. The only downside is that you can't keep her forever.

Aleca provided our family overnight care on our first night home from the hospital and throughout our first month. Being first time parents and not having any family nearby, having Aleca coach us on newborn care was the best decision we could have made. She has been a treasure chest of knowledge for us and has definitely helped set us up for success going forward. Her specialty is all things sleep related and our son is already sleeping longer stretches which has greatly helped our everyday lives. We intend to keep in touch with her going forward, she's also great company during those long and sometimes lonely overnight feeds. We are incredibly grateful to Aleca for helping us on very short notice and for giving us a great start to our son's life.

Aleca was amazing! She cared for our son from the day he came home from the hospital until he was 18 weeks old. We were heisitant at first to work with a postpartum doula. We thought having a stranger in our home while immediately postpartum would be awkard or intrusive - Aleca was anything but. Each night when she arrived, she did a check-in with us on how the day went. It was like having a mini baby class every night. She always had great tips on how to navigate whatever we were experiencing at the moment. She was also available by phone/text during the day when I had random questions or concerns. In addition to her amazing knowledge base, it's hard to put a price tag on having the ability to get solid sleep while knowing your newborn is well cared for. Our son was sleeping 12hrs through the night but end of her contract. I'm confident that had we not had Aleca those first few months our son would not have had such a solid start to life. We are already planning to use her for our next baby!

Aleca is exactly who you would want to take care of your newborn and to keep you company throughout the night: She is kind, patient, thoughtful, and funny. I instantly felt at ease and relaxed with her around, and it was special to see her relationship grow with my baby. Aleca is clearly an expert in newborn care and I would recommend her to any family who wants extra support in the early postpartum weeks.

Aleca helped us with our first baby and she was the first person I reached out to after finding out I was pregnant with our second to get on her schedule. I cannot recommend Aleca enough; the support she provides is one of a kind, she is passionate about her work and is an incredible resource to have in your corner. The thoughtfulness and care she had for my family and myself during the postpartum experience was above and beyond. 

I went through preeclampsia with my second and had to go into the ER a few nights after delivering because my blood pressure spiked. As difficult as that was, it was a lot easier knowing Aleca was with us and my babies. Her flexibility and ability to stay calm and collected is something that I will always remember and helped me tremendously.

She is the easiest person to work with and welcome into your home. She is incredibly generous and has a huge network. Aleca still feels like she is part of our family to this day and is always available if I have any questions.

Aleca Murphy is an exceptional post partum doula by every measure. Foremost, she is reliable. From the moment she arrives, to the moment she leaves, you feel like you are in good hands. She truly cares about your baby and your family. She is knowledgeable about newborn safety, including how to make formula in a safe manner and how to safely put your baby to sleep. She helps clean up the kitchen and do dishes and baby laundry if that is what is needed by the family. She makes herbal iced tea and fruit salad for my middle-of-the-night and first-thing-in-the-morning pumping sessions. Sleep training is her passion! And who doesn't want more sleep? If our baby -- who sleeps really well -- is any gauge of Aleca's skill, then it would not be a stretch to call Aleca an expert. She knows how to lengthen those sleeping hours as the baby gets older. She has great products to recommend from bottle warmers to sleep sacks. On top of everything she does for our baby and in our home, she coordinates and communicates well with other doulas who might fill in for her when she cannot work. That way you don't have to train them when they walk in the door. Aleca is a star doula!

Aleca worked for my family 24/7 for two weeks in August of 2022 to provide postpartum support after the birth of our first child. Before she arrived, I was unfamiliar with the type of value she would provide, thinking she would simply be an extra set of hands for my husband and I as we navigated how to care for our newborn. When our two-week agreement came to an end, it was clear to my husband and I that Aleca had provided a level of support we didn’t even know we needed. 

In two short weeks, Aleca acted as a live-in nanny, cook, personal assistant, educator, cleaning service, advisor, friend and ultimately, an extension of our family. She spent every night caring for our newborn so my husband and I could catch up on sleep, which, as I’m sure you can imagine, was invaluable. We were heartbroken to see her go but are so grateful for the support she provided and education we were able to take away from our time with her. 

Aleca is kind, smart, non-judgemental and fun to have around. I cannot recommend her enough to any family or person seeking postpartum support.

Aleca is such a pro in all things pregnancy and postpartum! She had our backs from the time that we met her. When we started care once our baby was born, I was nervous and teary-eyed about letting someone care for her at night. Aleca was so compassionate and immediately put me at ease. We hit our stride right away as she supported my sleep and helping me establish my milk supply. During the day, she was a magician - coaching me and keeping me company, holding baby during naps, getting her to rest in her crib, doing laundry, and making me smoothies. Over the course of 6 weeks, we emerged with a very happy baby, a better rested mom (and partner), and a baby that would sleep in her bassinet. Now our baby is almost 6 months old and she continues to support us in all things sleep related, for no additional cost. Hiring Aleca was the greatest gift for my family and I would do it all again in a heartbeat!

After a fairly unpleasant PP experience with my first child, I had sworn off other children, that is, until I remarried and found myself pregnant at 41. I could only base my choices as a new parent on my previous experience, which told me we needed night time care, if nothing else than to prevent ME from creating a sleep monster and having children in my bed for the next 10 years. I started researching this type of care to come across NCS and my mind was blown. I quickly organized a plant to be able to have this service, it's an investment for sure but probably one of the best I've ever made in my life. Truly. I was contracted with another NCS and Aleca ended up taking the first part of our contract as the main caretaker wasn't available for the first half and she was absolutely WONDERFUL. I can't speak highly enough to her professionalism, knowledge, Postpartum interest and care and she had my darling boy sleeping, peacefully in a crib for nice long stretches before she left at 6 weeks. Unbelievable! Aleca will always be like family to us now, she holds a special place in our hearts. My son has a great head start because of her expertise around breastfeeding - I almost threw in the towel several time and without Aleca's knowledge, support, and resources I wouldn't be happily and plentifully breastfeeding well into my second month with no concerns or anxiety.  So to end, if you asked if I'd hire Aleca again, absolutely! For twice the length and I would've paid her twice what her rate is. I'm a stickler for professionalism and attention to detail and Aleca has really raised our expectations and given me the type of attachment relationship I wanted with my son. I will be forever grateful we crossed paths and sad that our time was so short. I managed to still run my business, hug my partner every night, shower, get great sleep and provide love and affection to my older daughter which is priceless.

I have worked with Aleca twice. She supported me with my 9 year old son and my 15 month old son. Her warmth, kindness and expertise was incredible. With my first son I was clueless about what to expect and she seamlessly guided me through both the birth process and postpartum time. Both my partner and I can't stress enough how valuable the sleep advice she gave us was for our second. We had online meetings due to Covid and it felt like she was right in the room with us. She guided us strategically with what would work best to optimize the most sleep and through any concerns we had. Even as a second time mom I found myself asking what was normal or not and she was there for me with every question. I believe being a doula and supporting families through the journey of a new baby is her gift. Thank you!

Aleca is just wonderful! She is a true professional with great knowledge of safe newborn care, and sleep training. She watches out for common pitfalls that parents do and provides sound advice so that the fourth trimester goes smoother. She does not just care for the baby, but also the family. She is very thorough and thoughtful in helping our family so that mom can rest and recover.

The moment Aleca would walk in our door, the whole atmosphere became calm. The trust we had with her was instant. Everyday she helped us build our confidence as first time parents by answering questions we had and reassuring us. She was filled with so much information and great suggestions that we as parents were able to stay away from sprialing on google searches. The times when she didn't have the answer she would provide us with any and all resources we needed right away. Aleca doesn't show up as if it is another day or night at work, her passion for what she does is undeniable. I can't imagine anyone else being there for my family and helping us through such an life changing time. Any family would be lucky to have Aleca and her incredible support.

Aleca provided overnight support for our family after we welcomed our 3rd baby into the world. She was an absolute life-saver for us. As a certified newborn care specialist, Aleca was confident and capable of providing everything our daughter needed throughout the night so that we can could get much needed sleep. Our daughter struggles with reflux and is a real challenge to feed; but Aleca knew exactly how to handle it and required no instruction from us. She arrived early every night and left the house (and family!) in better condition every morning.

Aleca is wonderful! She took care of me AND my infant through those first few weeks of new parenthood. I am an anxious mother, which has been exacerbated by having a newborn during COVID. Because of the pandemic, I had resisted hiring any night support. As soon as I met Aleca I felt better; she is trustworthy, highly capable, and calming - for anxious new parents AND their babies! I would recommend Aleca to anyone in need of support and guidance.
