I was initially very hesitant about hiring a doula, but I’m so glad I decided to move forward — and even happier that I found Vinette Maurice. From the very beginning, she was incredibly kind, warm, and reassuring.

Vinette was very understanding and flexible, helping me find a plan that worked within my budget. She provided her basic birth doula services, but honestly went above and beyond in every possible way.

Before my due date, she met with me in person to understand my needs, preferences, and how she could best support me. She checked in regularly, always making sure I was doing okay and helping me make more informed decisions as my delivery approached. Her messages were full of encouragement and compassion — something I truly appreciated as a first-time mom.

On the day of my delivery, she was my rock. I had a C-section, and having her by my side brought so much emotional strength and calm to both me and my husband. She supported me throughout the entire process, guiding and comforting us every step of the way.

We welcomed our baby boy on January 2nd, and even after that, Vinette continued to check in and offer guidance on baby care and recovery. Her presence made such a positive difference in my birth experience — I can’t imagine going through it without her.

If you’re looking for someone who is genuinely caring, dependable, and deeply passionate about helping mothers, I highly recommend Vinette Maurice. She truly made my birthing journey a calm and empowering one. ??

We worked with Venette for the birth of our second child, and could not have been happier! She really helped us to center this birth as a unique experience and not over-compare to our first child. Moreover, she was able to quickly get to know us and tailor her support to our situation. On the day of the birth, she helped us navigate decision making, advocating for the experience we wanted, and gave the birthing mother a balanced sense of agency and care.

Venette was our birth doula, providing comprehensive support before, during, and after labor. With her partnership, we were able to have a vaginal birth with minimal medical intervention while cultivating collaborative relationships with hospital staff. From our first conversation, I was struck by Venette's intentional practice of being curious, seeking to understand, and accuracy in reflecting back what I was sharing. Throughout pregnancy, she not only supported me but also strengthened the partnership I was developing with my husband.

During labor, Venette provided unwavering reassurance, deep patience, and holistic interventions that skillfully matched where we were in labor. Venette's coaching helped me access my own power, work with baby, and trust the process. Since then, I often turn to mantras she repeated to find more ease during moments of hardship. Her wisdom and grace was a touch of heaven as we transitioned to become parents. My family would not be the same without her hand in our beginning.

Venette supported me during pregnancy, labor and post labor. I was provided with all of the necessary resources needed for labor. She was instrumental in helping me to remain committed to my birth plan of a natural vaginal delivery amidst the labor pains. Without Venette I most likely would have succumbed to the pain and would have taken an epidural. Venette gave me pain relief exercises during labor and recommended the vaginal check when necessary and was very encouraging in her communication during labor. After delivery Venette also ensured that I felt well enough to care for my son and that I felt well supported. She recommended me to postpartum doula services to help me get the further supported needed. Venette was a dream come true for my first experience delivering.

She is attentive, informed, supportive, responsive, and very very kind. We knew from our inital consultation with Venette that she was the right doula for us. It's so clear that Venette has a passion for birth work and for empowering birthing people to make the best decisions for themselves. This also means she is an excellent listener and communicator. She asks thoughtful and practical questions, and offers hands-on education to prepare the birth team for labor and delivery as well as for the postpartum period. Venette was always there when we needed her and had back up plans setup in case she couldn't be there for the birth. We trust her fully and recommend her to everyone who asks us about doulas in Central Mass.

Venette is incredible! I had a very long early labor that really tested my limits. Her support was crucial to my spouse and I throughout our time at home, being sent home from the hospital (twice), and through the long-awaited active labor and delivery process. She was there when I needed her, both remotely and in-person, to provide timely encouragement, new pain control ideas, and wise advice and reminders. The hospital staff remarked to me multiple times how impressed they were by Venette and they really respected her input as part of my team. Venette respected my wishes and helped me communicate them to the rest of the staff caring for me too. I am so thankful that I had Venette supporting my partner and I through the birth of my daughter!

I had a wonderful experience with Venette as my doula!  It was my first attempt at a natural birth after a C-section.  She was so caring and kind.  She educated me on how to prepare for labor and how to have an empowered birth experience at the hospital.  Venette checked in constantly when I was starting to show signs of labor, and she worked tirelessly to provide physical support in terms of positional changes, nourishment, and emotional support during a labor lasting more than 20 hrs at the hospital.  I highly recommend Venette as a doula!

My husband and I had the best experience with Venette! She was so attentive and compassionate throughout the entire journey. We had a very complicated pregnancy and birth. It was very far from what we thought our first experience would be like and it was certainly not how I would have ever wanted it. Venette made sure I felt comfortable and in control while we adapted to so many challenges. She helped me cope with the emotional side of things and helped me understand what was happening in labor and delivery when things got hard. She was there for me every step of the way and long after birth. Venette is a beautiful person and a fantastic doula!

I had an amazing experience with Venette as my doula. I was focused on having a physiological birth with minimal medical interventions and she was able to provide me with exactly the type of support I needed. I contacted her just a few weeks before giving birth and she was willing to work with me. She was very knowledgeable about the birthing process and was able to provide me with the emotional and physical support that I needed throughout my labor (and in the weeks leading up to the birth). 

After I gave birth, she continued to provide me with support during my postpartum period. She checked in on me regularly and provided me with resources and information that helped me navigate the challenges of early motherhood. Her communication skills were excellent and I always felt like I could reach out to her if I needed anything.

I would highly recommend Venette to anyone who is looking for a doula.
