I was completely terrified with anxiety about giving birth from the moment I found out I was pregnant. I had suffered from anxiety previous to becoming pregnant and didn't want it to interfere with my experience so I decided to hire a doula. I found Hannah Norton online and after reading multiple reviews I decided to contact her to set up a zoom call. She made me feel comforted from the moment I met her, after that I knew she was the doula I would want at my birth. Me and my now husband attended her birthing classes which were wonderful and very informative. Hannah and her husband Jared made me and my partner feel much more confident about going into the birthing process. The day I gave birth went completely different than I had planned but Hannah made sure to comfort me through text until we decided for her to come to the hospital. Once she arrived I felt at ease and within a couple hours my beautiful boy was there!! I highly recommend her doula services, 10/10 experience! Hannah is also a wonderful photographer and took beautiful pictures of our boy !

So this was my second baby this time around and my first experience with a doula and let me tell you... When you have someone next to you that you trust and in return they believe in you so much... Wow, does it make for a wonderful birth experience! I am so grateful to have worked with three of the doulas on the team and they were all so helpful in coaching me through positions and breathing techniques to get baby moving through the pelvis. I honestly don't believe I would have been able to have such a great birth if it weren't for their constant support and support for my husband as well. They are educated, experienced, and so supportive in an encouraging way! And because of that I was able to have the HBAC of my dreams and felt confident the whole labour! Even after the birth they stayed and made me a meal and didn't leave until we were absolutely sure we didn't need anything else. The genuineness of them definitely will have me calling them back for the third baby! ??

My husband said he was so thankful for them as well because he was able to stay right by my side the whole time! Especially when things get a little intense.

I can't recommend Hannah enough! There is nobody else my husband and I would have wanted by our side during what turned into a high risk pregnancy and early c-section due to a vasa previa diagnosis. Hannah empowered us as we navigated the changes from our original birth plan and accompanied us in our own unique birth story of our miracle rainbow baby.

I chose Hannah as my doula because she has a great energy. Because I ended up needing a scheduled c-section we did not use her for labor support but if we end up having another baby I would definitely use her again! We were still able to utilize pre and post natal support from her.

Hannah and her Doula practice were very professional, very approachable and personable. I loved the chance to be able to meet all of the Doula's each month to get to know them and feel comfortable when and if they were going to be present at my labor. Hannah was always available when I texted or called and needed her assistance in answering any questions I had. I love taking the birthing class with my husband as I felt like it was very educational on both aspects in preparing it for our labor and delivery. Hannah also was very personable when she came to the first postpartum appointment. I would highly recommend her Doula practice to any first time moms or other moms planning on having more children.

There aren’t enough words to describe how thankful I am for Hannah’s help throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery. She was the person I could ask all my “crazy” questions without feeling self-conscious and with pregnancy, I had a lot!

I would not have been able to make it through my very intense labor without her and my husband. I went in preparing for a very natural birth and ended up needing much more medical help because of severe pre-eclampsia. She helped me accept the changes to my birth plan and adjust to make it as “normal” of an experience as possible. She explained all the different medicines, reasons for my restrictions and we tried as many positions as we could to help me labor while being restricted to the bed

I’ve been telling everyone I know that THIS is why having a doula for birth is invaluable! You can plan but you can never really know what a birth will look like till it’s here. We were able to work together and my little guy is here, happy and healthy!

Hannah and the rest of the doulas on her team are AMAZING! They empower and support you and your partner so that you can feel prepared for birth and after. I loved Hannah’s holistic approach, and her ability to tailor her classes and conversations to our specific needs and worries. She is an amazing listener and the type of person you want with you during one of the biggest transitions in your life. I was very anxious and worried during my pregnancy and postpartum but Hannah was there every step of the way to encourage and uplift my husband and I. Her husband is fantastic, too! He co-teaches a few of the birthing classes and helped my husband feel more comfortable about supporting me through the birthing process. We appreciated all of the guidance and help we received from Hannah and her team. We absolutely will be using her services for our next child! Thank you so much, Hannah!

My husband and I felt very prepared going into our first child's birth thanks to Hannah's guidance and birth classes. We learned so much from her classes and my husband felt equipped to support me in the labor process after everything we learned. I truly believe we had the smooth delivery we did thanks to the exercises she suggested during pregnancy.  She also checked in post delivery to check in on my mental and emotional health in my transition to motherhood. I'm very thankful we found Hannah soon after we moved to the area and would recommend her to anyone considering a doula in labor and delivery.

After hearing horror stories from other first time moms, I wanted so badly to have a positive birth experience. I contacted Hannah early in my pregnancy and felt supported throughout my entire pregnancy, labor, delivery, and first few weeks of postpartum. My husband and I took the Marathon Birth Training course offered by her and her husband and felt equipped with knowledge and practical tools. I really appreciated Hannah's holistic approach and felt that she supported my birth preferences and decisions without judgement. I love that Hannah's partnership with other doulas allowed her to "change shifts" with Mal and Hanna, which ensured that I was receiving the best support and care at all times during my long labor. All three of them were so encouraging and supportive in their own ways. Hannah was wonderful with changing the vibe of my hospital room to be more comfortable with lighting and aromatherapy, and I think we tried about every position change and movement to help my labor progress. Although I had planned for an unmedicated birth and ultimately decided to get an epidural and pitocin, Hannah was supportive of what I needed and was reassuring through my disappointment of my birth not going according to plan. Her coaching and constant affirmations during my contractions and pushing was my favorite part and honestly what got me through it all! I can't imagine my first pregnancy and birth without her help and I can't recommend her enough!

I reached out to Hannah at the end of my pregnancy- and I could not be more greatful that I did. Having her and her team was everything I needed. I had the pleasure to have the support of not one, but three doulas: Kim, Mel and Hannah. Kim was there for me when I got to the hospital and had some concerning news regarding my labour. She was a real advocate for my needs and wishes, making sure I was receiving all the treatment I was entitled to and "bossing around" the best way possible. She made me feel safe and protected. She was like a real mother in the room. Then, Mel came with her gentil way, which allowed me to relax and calm down (I even got a foot massage!). Then, Hannah came and made everything possible. She supported me during the most painful and difficult part of the process. She was so reassuring and gave me confidence I could go through everything. She was a real angel. I am so greatful that I had this great team with me and my baby. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Wow -- where to begin? Hannah has been a Godsend for me the past few months. I recently relocated to the Midwest from the West Coast and didn't have any family or friend support during my first pregnancy. As a doula myself, I understood the importance of setting yourself up for success so I began looking and pretty quickly came across Hannah's website. After meeting her, I didn't want to interview any other doulas as I immediately felt comfortable and confident in Hannah's abilities. She is kind, funny, patient and incredibly knowledgeable. She lives and breathes birth work and you can see her passion in it. Her and her husband taught awesome birth classes and she was readily available to answer any questions I had throughout my pregnancy and especially during the birth of my daughter. She had a great package that included a newborn photo session which I'm so glad I got as she (not surprisingly) was great at that as well! Hannah is the exact type of doula you want and I couldn't recommend her enough!

We decided to use a doula after a traumatic birth experience with our first child. We were determined to have a different experience, and Hannah was a big part of making that happen. During her home visits, she was genuinely interested in getting to know our family (our toddler instantly loved her!) and helping us achieve our goal. When my water broke but not much progress was being made, she was full of calm and encouragement for me, and I trusted her advice. When I did take her advice, things picked up right away. When I called her to come at 11PM, she beat the rest of the birth team and never left my side until I was resting in bed with our new baby. She held me when I was exhausted, cheered me on when I needed encourement, and kept me from getting tied up in my own thoughts and worries. She is doing what she was made to do, and my husband and I highly recommend her. We plan to use her again for any future babies.

Thank you Hannah!

So thankful for Hannah and her great expertise! When I first started at my OB office I would read things on my online chart that I didn't understand and the doctor never told me about it. Thankfully, Hannah could explain stuff to me. Also, she helped me discover the best care for me and pointed me in the right direction to be able to switch over to a midwife.  She was thorough and helped me get together all important information in case emergency decisions were needed that my husband could focus on me and not worry about making decisions. Thankfully, it wasn't needed but it was a huge relief to know that she had all that in place. Also, Hannah has a birth class she teaches with her husband which is helpful!! I would highly recommend Hannah to anyone looking for a doula. You won't regret it!!

Hiring Hannah is one of the best choices you can make in your pregnancy and birth experience. At least, it was for me!!

I was hesitant, being my second child and a homebirth, that I would even need a doula. I am so glad I changed my mind and decided to hire Hannah! At the start of my labor I wasn't sure how I would make it. Once Hannah arrived it was like all became right with the world.

I know Hannah's prenatal support, hands on labor assistance, knowledge and care made the difference in my birth as amazing as it was. She was always quick to respond and knew exactly what to say to help me as I navigated choices towards the end of my pregnancy. She worked so well with my midwife and friend who also doula'd the birth for her doula training. Her presence was calm and reassuring.

And, her Gilligan's Guide knowledge was so effective my daughter basically came flying out once we started the moves. My friend who is becoming a doula was also hired and in attendance and I felt Hannah was such a great role model for her. They both worked so great together. I felt like I had such amazing support and care, and really feel it made the difference in my birth experience.

Hannah and Christa were amazing! They made me feel safe and confident throughout my birth journey. A doula is so much more than birth support. I'm so grateful I had the chance to experience their support.

Hannah's level of care and expertise was second to none! I felt so educated, seen, heard, and cared for, both in prenatal preparation and day-of attention. I had a beautiful labor, and I honestly can't wait to do it again in the near future, because I felt safe, in control, and powerful thanks to Hannah's support. I can't recommend her highly enough!

Hannah has a gift for being with you and your partner in the delivery room. She knows when to step in and when to let the you just experience the process of child birth. She is incredibly knowledgeable and can give objective advice in a loving way. When things were getting really tough, we were so grateful for Hannah's help to make a decision about how we will proceed. With Hannah's help, I was able to give birth naturally with limited intervention. I would absolutely work with Hannah again.

My husband and I are so grateful for the gift of having Hannah as our doula for our first child. Being so connected to someone with Hannah’s level of expertise eased my concerns as a new mom and gave me somewhere to turn with all of my questions. She was very available to me and provided evidence-based guidance. On an emotional and spiritual level, it was hugely important to have Hannah as a kind, warm, and loving guide to help us navigate the unknowns, the emotional ups and downs, and to just pray with and for us. We would absolutely recommend Hannah as a doula for anyone considering this beautiful service to moms and families!

My husband and I are so incredibly thankful that we got to work with Hannah during our first pregnancy and birth! We knew that our hopes were to have an unmedicated hospital birth, but we didn’t really know how to prepare for that. Our initial plan was just to hope for the best and go into an unmedicated birth blindly, but mid way through iregbancy and decided we needed some support! I found her information on Facebook and decided to sign up for her Marathon Birth class. After the very first class, my husband and I walked away already feeling so affirmed and encouraged! We loved that her husband helped teach the class so we could hear his experiences and perspectives too.

Hannah continued to provide us support as our doula throughout pregnancy. She is so incredibly sweet, a calming presence, and knowledgeable! We learned so much about how to prepare for the birth we wanted. After our daughter was born, we both agree that our experience would have been 100% different if it wasn’t for the support and education we received through Hannah. We felt informed and able to make decisions based on what we were comfortable with. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is interested in having some extra support and education for pregnancy and birth, no matter what path you chose! Thanks Hannah!!

When I first got pregnant my husband didn't know what a doula was and thought it was a waste of money. I was convinced I needed one though and we hired Hannah. To say she was GREAT is an understatement. This was my first pregnanacy and I knew nothing. Hannah was a huge help in calming my fears and offering advice throughout the entire pregnancy. With her medical background I was able to ask her some questions about what was normal or not. She has a wealth of knowledge on birthing positions, pain management, nutrition and anything else you may encounter in birth. She has 6 boys so she has plenty of experience herself! She even teaches a great birth class (I wouldn't have made it to the birth center on time if I hadn't followed some of her steps on knowing when to leave).

My husband who in general thought having a doula wasn't worth the money said it was one of the best decisions we made while pregnant. I think he trusted her more than some other medical professions on our team. She was an essential part of the team and we will definitely be hiring her again if we get pregnant again. We HIGHLY recommend her!! If you are on the fence on whether you should hire her- DO IT!

Having Hannah as our doula was a godsend. She brought such peace, personal experience, and a whole lot of wisdom. We enjoyed taking her birthing classes and her help throughout labor was irreplaceable. What a bonus that she’s a photographer too. I highly recommend Hannah.

Hannah was extremely knowledgeable and professional. She is down to earth and very easy to talk to. She was always a text or call away, including when I was 35 weeks pregnant and called her at 2am in severe pain, scared and not knowing what was happening. She urged me to go to the ER and stated that she would gladly meet us there once she got her own babies up and to a sitter. My water broke at about 3:45pm on a Friday night with no contractions. She walked me through how to know for sure if my water had broken. I went to the hospital about 8pm but didn't call her to meet us until about 11pm. She stayed up all night with us and helped me through breathing, positioning, and pain management so I could have the natural labor I wanted. 10/10 would absolutely use her again and would recommend hiring her if you are considering a doula. I am so happy I did!

Right from the first time I reached out to her, Hannah was very understanding of my needs, professional & kind hearted. After an initial video conversation, she made two home visits to prepare me for my labor and provided a lot of resources and helpful suggestions & information to get me through the last few weeks of my pregnancy.

She played a significant role in my postpartum recovery-both physically as well as emotionally. I looked forward to Hannah's home visits all through the 6 weeks, as she helped with the care of my baby as well as helped me with all the challenges faced during the early days with a newborn, including breastfeeding, amongst many others. She was also always open to taking care of my family's needs, including spending time with my older child who thoroughly enjoyed her company, and other errands around the home. Through our conversations, I was able to connect very well with Hannah and it felt like having a thoughtful & nurturing friend, who was genuinely concerned, taking care of my needs for a couple of hours every other day.
The initial weeks with our baby girl would have been so much harder without Hannah's presence and guidance. I wish I knew about her with my first born!

Me and my husband took Hannah's birthing classes, Great Expectations. We loved them. They helped us feel prepared, excited, and empowered for our upcoming birth. Hannah has a very warm friendly personality that makes you feel at ease. Loved her positive outlook on natural birth and tips for achieving one.

My husband and I benefited greatly from Hannah's support during my pregnancy, labor, delivery, and early postpartum period. From our first email communication onward, Hannah was very encouraging, understanding, and accommodating. With this being our first pregnancy, we really appreciated the depth of Hannah's professional and personal childbirthing experience. She was a tremendous resource any time we had questions and she educated us about things to look out for or consider during pregnancy and prenatal appointments. Hannah's presence at our home as my long labor progressed helped me cope with contractions and allowed my husband a chance to get a little rest. Once at the hospital, Hannah was a wise and calm sounding board as decisions arose pertaining to labor and delivery interventions. Her ability to assist with a potentially dangerous situation and reassure us as the situation resolved was such a blessing. Hannah continued to bless us after we returned home, checking in periodically and providing text support as questions pertaining to breast feeding and infant care arose. We don't know what we would have done without Hannah's services!

We hired Hannah as our birth doula for the birth of our second baby. Hannah was so kind and I immediately felt comfortable around her after our first meeting. She made herself available and provided plenty of support and suggestions when I was experiencing prodromal labor. Hannah was not able to attend the actual birth as our baby came very quickly and suddenly on the car ride to the hospital! Hannah still visited us at the hospital afterwards and was kind enough to take photos immediately after the birth as well as a few weeks later of our family. I would highly recommend Hannah to anyone looking for a doula! She genuinely cares about her clients and provides a great deal of support in whatever way you are most comfortable!

Last November I gave birth to my first child. I am so grateful that I had Hannah as a doula support throughout the process. My birth plan was to labor as home as long as possible and then give birth naturally/medication free at the hospital. My expectation was to get to the hospital an hour before my baby was born, push him out, and return home the next day. As we know, childbirth doesn't always go as planned. I ended up being medically advised to be induced at nearly 41 weeks. Hannah provided support throughout the entire process and her nursing background was such a blessing as she assisted me in asking medical questions that I would not have known to ask. With Hannah's help and support, I was able to use natural induction methods at the hospital to help me progress to 7cm before beginning a Pitocin drip. Aside from minimal Pitocin and an unplanned episiotomy after 5 hours of pushing, I had the natural childbirth I desired. I truly credit Hannah for a large portion of my positive experience. Hannah was unable to be present at the hospital due to COVID but she was available day and night via phone and video chat to field questions from me and my husband during the 36 hours I was in labor. She was a strong support, advocate, and my biggest cheerleader during the last hour of pushing. Hannah's passion for childbirth, medical knowledge, lived experience as a mother of six, and compassionate heart makes her the perfect doula. You won't regret hiring her!

When we found out we were having our first baby, I was filled with both excitement and a little anxiety. I've always wanted to have kids, but childbirth scared me.

I prayed about hiring a doula and decided it was the right choice for us. I have known Hannah since my teens and was excited to see that she had been certified as a doula. I knew she had experience but with the new Covid policies, it was important for our doula to be certified in order to be allowed in the room.

My husband and I met with Hannah and decided on the spot to utilize her services. Hannah was straight forward and told us she had a prior personal commitment the weekend I was due, but assured me that she had a backup doula should I go into labor on time, although being that it was my first pregnancy, it didn't seem that it would be necessary. We met with Hannah on two other occasions to learn about what birth looks like and how we could use our voices to express our own wishes in the hospital. Hannah answered our questions and we learned so much that we would've never learned just by going to our regular OB appointments. I felt prepared and ready.

I went into labor on my due date and it rolled over into the next day - the day Hannah was scheduled to leave for her vacation. Hannah came to our house anyways and helped me progress my labor until the backup doula could make it. She then came with us to the hospital and made sure I was settled in my room before leaving town. She also provided virtual support when things got hard and checked on us many times throughout the night. My husband and I were completely overwhelmed by our backup doula's support but also having Hannah in our corner as well.

Bottom line - I still would've chosen Hannah if I had known for a fact she would be out of town. Her willingness to stay connected and her trust in her backup doula made our birthing experience amazing.

We just welcomed our first baby home in November. With COVID going on our experience was going to look differently then I initially planned on. I had hoped for my mom and sister to be present at the hospital for support, but of course no visitors were allowed. Knowing that it would only be my husband I was interested in both he and I learning more of what to expect.

Hannah reached out to us and was perfect for the job. Hannah teamed up with her husband, both of whom come from medical backgrounds to help my husband and I know what to expect and how to prepare. I loved that they not only educated us but also equipped my husband to be an active participant of the whole birthing process.

Hannah gave us lots of information on different possibilities during birth including location (home, hospital, birthing center) and options for pain control like natural distraction methods all the way to epidural. Hannah was supportive of our choices and ready to cheer us on as the day came. Again because of COIVD things looked a little differently as we went to be admitted to the hospital.

We opted for virtual support from Hannah. Both my husband and I had Hannah’s contact information and were able to call, text or video call as needed during the process. It was great knowing that my husband had a support  person who equipped him to best help me.

I would highly recommend Hannah to anyone interested in a doula. She is kind, loving, knowledgeable and supportive in all your needs as a mom and supportive of the whole family.

In 2008 I had my first son while my husband was deployed to Iraq! I was nervous and anxious about all that labor entailed.

At my 38 week appointment they told me Silas was breech and that they wanted to try and turn him manually before I went into labor! Well surprise, after they turned him I went into labor, but not "active labor"...although to this day it felt the same to me! Fast forward two more days, yes thats right, I had been laboring at home that whole time 36 hours to be exact! By the time I went to the hospital I was miserable and had all of my labor in my back! I was exhausted from not sleeping or eating!  I had called Hannah and told her I was at the hospital and she told me she would meet me there!

When she got there I was pretty upset because the Dr. That was on call wasn't being very accommodating to my requests. Since I had back labor I wanted to try and be in a different position to relieve some of that, but he wanted me to lay in the bed that was what he was comfortable with! He also wanted to give me something to hurry my labor along, I was upset so I just remember saying whatever go ahead, but Hannah knew what I wanted and she was my voice during a time I wasn't able to be, she told the Dr. That I didn't want drugs and I was doing great! He also got a little annoyed because I wasn't pushing great, but at this point I was so exhausted I didn't have any energy to push! Hannah encouraged me through and kept telling me I could do it! She was the calm I needed in that moment, she kept me focused on what I needed to do, and she made sure I did it the way I wanted to! I wish I was able to have her with my other two births, its really nice to have someone there to support you, who knows what you are hoping to experience, but also knows when that might not be a reality, and will make the safest decisions for you and your baby!??????

Hannah Norton is an excellent choice for a doula. She ministered to myself and my husband during all four of my full- term pregnancies and was present at 3 of the four births. The last guy decided to make his appearance so fast, she couldn't make it in time. Her understanding of the medical side of labor and delivery as a nurse, her personal experience and research of the natural side of birthing and her calm, reassuring spirit weave together to create a birthing partner fully on your side and ready to serve the expectant mom and her partner. I truly value her insight, reminders and company during labor and delivery so much that her words were playing in my head, even when she couldn't be there. Between birth experiences,  she brainstormed with me about what worked and what I could have done differently to help me feel more at ease, or for the process to go more smoothly. And when the kinks arise in your plan, her calm, reassuring manner definitely helps as you work with her to adjust the plan to fit the new circumstances. I highly recommend Hannah as a doula for anyone wanting an extra set of hands, eyes, or needing an advocate during your birthing process.
