Hayley stepped in during my post-partum period for overnights with our newborn over the course of several months. They came recommended from the doula we worked with during birth, so I knew I could trust them with my son, but it's still quite nervy to have someone in your house overnight, caring for your precious baby. But they quickly put me at ease with with their warm and calming, assured presence in our home. They also were able to pick up right where we (the parents) left off in some tricky overnight routines - our son had torticollis that we addressed in part by repositioning his head as he slept, and then with a little sleep hat (we called it his medical hat) that kept him from sleeping on his preferred side. Hayley took up this routine right alongside us and was a real partner in helping address the torticollis. It's really only with some distance from that time in my life that I can recognize how truly lucky I was to have been connected with Hayley at a very emotional and vulnerable time in life.

I have worked with Hayley twice now and she is absolutely amazing. Both of my deliveries were very different and challenging. She was there with me ever step of the way through a 36 hour labor that turned into an emergency C-section and was a great resource and help as I transitioned into a mother. Then when my second ended up being another C-section and my husband couldn't stay with me the first night she came to make sure I wasn't alone. She always went above and beyond. She was an advocate for me and made sure I was being taken care of. After everything I consider her a dear friend and if I choose to or am able to have anymore babies she is my first request. Thank you.

Hayley helped me and supported me when I didn't have anyone else to support me giving birth. It was so helpful to not be alone and have someone to remind me to take care of myself as well as my baby.

Hayley helped bring our first Little into the world earlier this year. Hayley was open to working with us for a home birth and met the whole family, including our additional support folks (and our support kitty!). Our initial interviews/getting to know one another went really comfortably and they made us feel secure and supported; especially my partner. Our plan was largely for my partner to support me and for Hayley to support him.
As pregnancy went on, Hayley was able to confirm that I was showing signs of prodromal/early labor- which lasted a week or so. They really helped affirm the experience while we waited. Our actual labor day was a whirlwind of having to induce and depart from our home birth plans. I truly believe that our support team of midwives and Hayley are the reason why my labor story is not a traumatic one even though it was such a serious departure from our original plans and required a lot of interventions when we'd hoped for none. Hayley brought candles to the birthing center, ran a bath, and helped my partner provide pressure and relief. Once I was further along Hayley was an amazing support to my partner so he could focus on coaching me. On top of all that, Hayley got beautiful pictures for us for which I'm so grateful as I honestly recall so little of my own labor due to the intensity of it.
Postpartum, Hayley helped me figure out babywearing which was far more difficulty than I might have guessed. They also were able to give us some much needed rest and care for our Little while we napped. Our Little is pretty picky about who soothes them but they were able to sleep and rest easy in Hayleys care.
If we decide to have another kiddo, we will 100% be asking Hayley if they are free. They made us feel so cared for and safe and are a huge part of why our labor experience went from really scary to fully supported.

Hayley supported our family of 5 in our postpartum time. When I was assigned bedrest in the third trimester of my pregnancy, Hayley reached out to offer additional emotional and logistical support in a time our family was in great need. She brought delicious, home cooked meals to feed our whole family, spent time nurturing big siblings with attentive care and activities through big transitional feelings and checked in with me regularly to ensure I felt held and supported. In our early postpartum weeks, Hayley's presence was warm, soft and dependable. They easily adapted to the shifts of our families needs and just dropped in with seamlessness. In the later months of my postpartum, when I started to feel lost and forgotten by others, Hayley continued to show up for me and remind me of the care and support we all are so deserving of. Without Hayley, expanding our family would've been full of more challenges and struggle, Hayley brought in lightness, hope and love. Hayley, we are so grateful to know you for the impactful ways you show up!
