My volunteer, board, and advocacy work are deeply rooted in my commitment to advancing maternal and child health and improving outcomes for families in my community. I served as Chair of the Rhode Island Breastfeeding Coalition and Co-Chair of the Rhode Island Strategic Breastfeeding Plan, where I work collaboratively with partners across the state to expand access to education, resources, and equitable care. I also lead workforce development initiatives for lactation support in Rhode Island, helping to strengthen and grow a skilled, culturally responsive provider network. As a member of the Rhode Island Maternal Mental Health Task Force, I contribute to efforts that center the mental health needs of birthing people and families. In addition to these leadership roles, I actively engage in community-based advocacy, using my lived experience and professional expertise as a doula and community health worker to inform policy, support systems change, and ensure that the voices of the families I serve are represented in decision-making spaces. Through this work, I remain committed to building a more just, responsive, and supportive maternal health system.
Support is tailored to your individual needs, and pricing reflects the level of care you choose. Words cannot describe how appreciative I am that I had Latisha on my team when it was time to bring my little angel earthside. From the classes to the advice you receive as you get closer to your due date, Latisha is thoroughly preparing you for what is to come and extremely encouraging.
I know they say not to hold onto everything on my birth plan, but with her help my delivery was exactly how I planned it with her. She helped me through each contraction and anything I needed she was right there supporting me. When it was time to push, I had no more energy and verbally said, "I can't do this." It was in that moment, that she spoke life into me, almost willing me through. In the end she gave important instructions to follow when it was time to push and it made a significant difference. In the end after 16 hours, natural vaginal birth, no epidural, we welcomed our precious baby girl. If you're looking for a doula look no further, you will be in safe hands.

From the very beginning (consultation) Latisha was very professional, inviting, friendly and warm to my boyfriend and I. This time around, it was my second child but in a new state, so I didn’t have any experience with the hospital care and that was an important principle to me. Latisha made me feel very comfortable with her during our zoom check ins, her knowledge and expertise made me feel she was ready for the day I gave birth to my son which, in turn made me feel confident as well. She was also very good with my partner and making him feel included in the whole experience. When the day came to have my child, Latisha was at the ready with many ways she could uniquely help my family, while never being overbearing. During the weeks prior, she even worked with me to arrange a back up doula from my sounding area incase she herself could not be there for me on my big day. She was very cool, calm and collected when helping me deliver our baby and also reminded me of my handpicked birth plan along the way. With her help, I was able to successfully achieve what I set out to do! I would definitely recommend her services, in my opinion there was no better option for my partner and I. I felt she was genuinely invested in the safe delivery of our baby boy.

My experience with Latisha was invaluable. She fully embraced me and my husband from day one and stayed committed to making sure that we were well informed, well cared for, and our birth experience was what we wanted. She is patient and knowledgeable regarding the ins and outs of the birthing process and knew how to navigate its complexities. She takes the time up front to not only learn about my birth plan and wishes, but to learn about me, my family structure, and what was important to me. Giving birth during COVID created a new set of challenges that we all had never experienced before. Latisha made sure to stay up to date on the everchanging visitation and support policies at the hospital we were giving birth at. She reassured us that she would be willing and able to provide services regardless of any potential changes by capitalizing on the use of different technologies.
Once it was time to give birth, the weeks leading up to this time Latisha made herself available to me around the clock. We often texted back and forth about things small and big that I was experiencing at all hours. This provided me with a peace of mind and confidence. During my birth, she arrived at the hospital quickly ready and willing to support me and my husband as well as my extended family members that were anxiously awaiting news on how I was doing. She was sure to include all of them in my process as it was extremely important to me.
Her calming presence brought me great comfort in what ended up being an eventful and complicated birth. She held my hand and offered encouraging words and support. She slowed things down when they needed to slow down, and suported me in making decisions in a way that was neutral but informative. I can say with great certainty that my experience would not have been as positive without Latisha.
I am 5 months post partum and I remain thankful for her continued care, concern, and partnership on this journey!

I will always recommend Latisha services to anyone especially first time moms/parents! She was phenomenal from day one, offering us endless support as we embarked on our new journey into parenthood. During my 14 hour labor she was there every step of the way; encouraging me, listening to my needs, and making me feel as comfortable as possible. As a military family, it is extremely hard not having family around during a very precious moment in our lives, thanks to Latisha we still felt like our labor and delivery was special! Her postpartum care was amazing nonetheless, I was able to successfully breastfeed for 18 months with her guidance and encouragement! She even cared enough to offer support to my husband as he adjusted as well. I can not thank her enough for being our doula and helping us bring our baby boy earth side.
