A Golden Birth is wonderful! As you can imagine, being first time parents and letting new people into your home during such a vulnerable time can be nerve-wracking. But when Colleen and Heather came to visit the house and meet us before our daughter's arrival, talking us through strategies for postpartum/post-operative recovery, we felt safe and supported right away. Once our daughter arrived, they were raring and ready to help (they were incredibly punctual!). They are very experienced caregivers, as well as extremely kind and respectful. Even when many of the key day-to-day tasks had already been completed by my mother-in-law, Colleen jumped right in offering to watch and care for the baby so I could rest. Having blocks of time to sit outside and recharge my batteries was incredibly nourishing. Some days I just needed to talk about aspects and anxieties of baby care. She was so patient, keeping me company on the couch while we talked through my questions. Things like walking us through the first time giving baby a bath (very nerve-wracking for us at the time) made such a difference in our confidence. On the overnights, my husband and I were able to get some much needed sleep - Heather was exceptional at anticipating baby’s every need. We loved our early morning chats before she headed home - we learned so much and felt very safe knowing she had been there keeping an attentive eye on everything. I tend to feel guilty and struggle when I am in a vulnerable place, needing care (after a lifetime of being the caregiver). They never judged, gently reminding me when it was okay/important to take it easy, but also being supportive when I felt a need to be productive. I lost my mother when I was young, so having these women who I could ask questions and trust during this vulnerable time was a blessing. We are much more confident as parents and feel that this foundation was really fostered by these loving caregivers. We highly recommend their services!

Utilizing Colleen for day support was absolutely pivotal in my postpartum experience as a first time mom. Her compassionate, patient care for myself and my baby was above and beyond my expectations. She truly became a part of our family and support system, which I can never thank her enough for. I feel confident that I was able to heal faster, become more competent and confident due to her unwavering support. I highly recommend them and a Golden Birth and Postpartum to every pregnant mom I know!

Colleen was an incredible support to our family during the first few months after my daughter‘s arrival. She was kind, nurturing, and intuitive to my daughter’s needs. She always seemed to know exactly what needed to be done, even when I couldn’t quite put it into words. Colleen is reliable and full of warmth, she brought both comfort and confidence into our home. We are grateful to have had her as part of our support system.

When my husband and I first met Colleen, we were struck by her warmth, kind-heartedness, and love for her profession. Once I had my baby, we felt so lucky to have Colleen in our home to help us through our post-partum journey. It was one of the best decisions we could have made. My husband and I prepared as much as you can, but there are some obstacles you cannot prepare for. The birth of my son was the happiest time in my life. However, unbeknonst to Colleen, I was struggling with post partum depression. Navigating post-partum was ten-fold easier with her help. She truly is the baby whisperer. Colleen brings forth so much knowledge, experience, and passion. It makes the anxiety and newness of bringing a baby home a more calm, confidence-bulding experience. It allows you to fully embrace the new journey you're embarking on, soaking in all the tender newborn moments. Colleen is also extremely well-versed in breast feeding. She guided me through breast feeding my newborn when it felt extremely difficult and painful at times. She provided me with tips and tricks to ease the pain that I felt worked extremely well for my baby and I. I would also like to note that when my breast feeding journey came to an end, she assisted my family in navigating bottle feeding. With her help, we quickly identified the best bottle, feeding positions, and support I needed to properly feed my baby.

I cannot recommend Colleen enough. Outside of my husband and I, she is truly the only other person I trusted caring for my newborn when dealing with the newness and anxieties postpartum brought forth. We still communicate and share photo updates. It is like she is forever part of our family. We are forever grateful for her and hope to have her again when baby number 2 comes along in the future!

I credit Colleen as my biggest cheerleader and support person to successfully breastfeed my second child. I struggled with my first during Covid because I felt isolated. I hired Colleen because I wanted to NOT feel invisible as a new mom the second time around. She always centered me and my needs. She proactively pitched in with chores around the house without me even asking. She made me breakfast on a day I kept putting it off because everyone else in my family always comes first. She made me feel like a queen! (As every mother should in their initial weeks coming home from the hospital after giving birth.) She was more than a cleaning lady. More than a lactation consultant that talks to you for five minutes at the hospital. More than an opinionated relative pushing boundaries. She was the right mix of personal and professional. She gave great advice and if she didn't know the answer she'd always have an idea of who I coudl ask for help. I wish every family could have access to this kind of care postpartum in our country. Highly recommend!

I simply cannot praise Colleen's postpartum services enough. As first-time parents, the challenges of welcoming a newborn seemed overwhelming, but Colleen's support turned this daunting journey into a joyous experience.

From the moment she entered our lives, Colleen became an essential pillar of our family. She offered comfort and care to our baby girl, Haley, but her support extended to my wife, Lin, and myself as well. Her knowledge, expertise, and calming presence were a guiding light during the often chaotic first weeks after Haley's birth.

Colleen equipped us with the tools to care for Haley with confidence and compassion. Her guidance was always timely, practical, and seemed to anticipate our needs before we could even articulate them ourselves.

Her commitment didn't end with the scheduled support. She made it clear that she was just a call away, a testament to her dedication and passion for her work. I wholeheartedly recommend Colleen's services to any family navigating their postpartum journey. Her guidance is priceless.

We want to express our deepest gratitude for all the support Colleen provided during this special time in our lives. Thank you for smoothing our transition into parenthood and infusing it with joy.

Thank you, Colleen. We couldn't have done this without you.

Colleen brought a sense of calm to our home when we welcomed our second child. After a stressful first week home from the hospital, we spoke to Colleen and she found time in her schedule the next day to come. She shared so much of her wisdom, from best ways to burp a newborn to how to help our toddler adjust to his new baby sister. We all felt more comfortable with our new family structure thanks to Colleen and I was able to get some much needed rest during her visits. We wish we'd known about her when we brought our son home from the hospital!

It was such a wonderful experience having Colleen as our doula. We are so thankful for her support and knowledge. Half way through my pregnancy, I was unsure of what a doula did and whether or not I even needed one. I had given birth before but my gut told me to hire a doula this time. It was the best decision I could have made for my family. Colleen provides a variety of services, including hanging out with my older one, taking care of the newborn, helping with cleaning breast pump, laundry, etc...which really was a huge relief for us. She also provided me tons of usefel tricks to comfort the baby when she's fuzzy.

You will not go wrong with choosing Colleen to be your doula. Don't hesitate to contact her for more information.

My husband and I had an amazing experience working with Colleen as our postpartum doula as we welcomed our second child home. Colleen was incredibly supportive with both of my children, and helped our family coordinate moving into a new house during our time together! I couldn't recommend A Golden Birth postpartum doula services and Colleen more!

I cannot say enough great things about postpartum doula Colleen at A Golden Birth. Colleen was paramount to my husband’s and I transition to becoming new parents joining us from the day we brought our baby boy home. She also played a key role in my hard but successful journey to exclusive breastfeeding with her lactation services. I could immediately tell Colleen is passionate about her work and truly enjoys helping families. My baby boy loved her and her calming spirit was always a warm welcome to our family. She was also flexible working around our baby's doctor appointments. She was helpful in allowing my husband and I to rest, answered my many questions as an anxious new mom, and made delicious lactation cookies!  Colleen also helped me identify my postpartum preeclampsia leading to me being hospitalized and effectively saving my life. I could not have asked for a better postpartum doula.

Colleen was amazing! She taught me so much about breastfeeding, sleep and early newborn care. And she was incredibly helpful at home - finding things to do that I didn't even know I could ask for - laundry, cleaning up the kitchen, lactation cookies... She was an angel of support those early weeks. She was so sweet and skillful with our son - I learned a lot just watching how she cared for him.

We wish we could keep working with her as a nanny! and we are happy that she can share her expertise, wisdom and kindness with more families!

Colleen was amazing, I’m so thankful she was able to help my husband and I as we navigated the shift to being new parents. She taught us so much about taking care of our newborn, offering tips and making recommendations that helped us with our little one. Having that extra support in the early newborn stage made a world of difference; I knew if I had a question or needed anything, Colleen would be there to help. And best of all, she gave us the gift sleep and took care of our baby so we could nap!
