Joy Lind all the way. Tough birthing process for our family but Joy was such a steady presence. Just all around wonderful but even more so when things did not go according to 'plan'. I have no doubt Joy made our experience easier and calmer. 100% worth the $$$.

I don't think our delivery would have gone as smoothly as it did had Joy not been there.

My husband is such a loving guy, but he panics when he sees me in pain. When we found out we were expecting our miracle baby, we knew we needed a doula to support both of us in labor. Quickly, we found Joy and connected with her. She was a great encourager and source of information throughout my pregnancy, and she helped us both prepare for what was to come.

On the night I finally went into labor (after 5 weeks of prodromal labor), she met us at the hospital minutes after we arrived. She was the perfect support for both me and my husband, and was the BEST at counter pressure during my contractions! When my labor took a turn and I began pushing at 8cm (no bueno), she helped me and my husband navigate everything leading up to the epidural.

I think the sweetest memory right before delivering our baby girl was when Joy gave me and my husband the opportunity to spend a few minutes alone in the delivery room and pray together before meeting our daughter. I will forever cherish that moment and it wouldn't have happened without Joy. If you are at all considering a doula, please see if Joy is available. You won't regret it! Whenever the Lord blesses us with another baby, you bet I'm giving her a call ASAP.

I was hesitant about hiring a doula at first, as I wasn’t aware how much or how exactly it was going to help in my labor process. I decided to give Joy a call based on a friend’s recommendation and we were a perfect match since the very first call. She understood and acknowledged all of my fears and anxieties and worked with me throughout my pregnancy so I would be as informed as possible. She also helped me organize my thoughts and emotions so I could have a better idea of how I wanted my son’s birth to be. She was the calm within the storm. She helped me keep as relaxed as possible during my labor process, and helped with relaxation exercises when contractions were strong. I couldn’t have made it without her. Even my husband agrees hiring her was the best decision! She did a great job helping him, help me, too! I can say that I have smiling pictures during my labor process thanks to her! I will forever be thankful to her and will never forget her presence!

I absolutely cannot imagine giving birth without Joy. Even with my supportive husband, she was a godsend. Her knowledge about labor and quiet confidence made me feel comfortable because I knew I was taken care of. There is no doubt in my mind that I would not have been able to follow my birth plan without her. My labor was much more intense than I imagined; when I thought I had nothing left to give, Joy was always there reassuring me that I could do it. And I did!!! Really cannot recommend her enough. She will surely be one of the first people I call if I get pregnant again! No one else I would rather watch The Office with while in labor than her.

Joy was an amazing doula from beginning to end!! She was always ready to answer for any questions during my pregnancy, while reminding me that she was support and not a medical professional, encouraging me to always reach out to my provider if I felt concerned. She helped me to really vocalize my concerns so that I could advocate for myself with my providers so I was confident and comfortable with myself throughout the whole process. When it came time for my induction, before I went to the hospital, Joy was on the phone so I could know what to expect. She was in constant contact with me, and when I called her to come in, she picked up the phone after the first ring. Until my son was born, Joy was an excellent support, even staying the night with me at the hospital in case I progressed to active labor then. She helped me with exercises that could help drop my baby and offered constant support to me. When there were times I needed to be less active and simply meditate, she gave me the space to do so. We talked through all my options and she never swayed me one way or the other, and she worked wonderfully with the hospital staff. Joy also offered my husband wonderful support. I was so relaxed that in between pushes, I was chatting with people!! I felt so strong and empowered in a way I never thought I could during birth. Even now, after I've had the baby, she is checking in on us. My husband and I have agreed we will definitely be hiring a doula, hopefully Joy, again in the future!!

I knew from the start that Joy was the perfect match to help us welcome our baby girl into this world. Through very personal, detail-oriented, and relaxed conversations she was able to help us build our plan and prepare us. Throughout the whole process she supported not only my wife, but myself too which was refreshing as often it feels like the husband disappears into the background. The whole time it felt as if we were working with another family member which made the preparation and birth even more incredible.

During the birth I was continually impressed with how she knew when her experience, guidence, and leadership were needed. It was as if she knew what needed to be done and how to best help without being prompted. Without Joy's help, our birth experience would not have been nearly as positive as it was. Through Joy's diligent work she enable me to be present and focused on my wife the entire birth. Without her valuable help, our daughters birth wouldn't have been nearly as amazing and positive experience that it was. Both my wife and I are ever thankful for the experience she helped us have and plan on working with her when we have more wonderful children!

We were so blessed to welcome our baby boy into the world this past August and I'm so thankful to have had Joy by our side. 

Joy was detailed in the beginning stages of getting to know us and understanding the birth experience we hoped for. She was knowledgeable in answering our questions and understanding of any fears we had, making me feel more confident, powerful and prepared for delivery day! 

On delivery day, she was there right away and ready. We had a long labor but had some good laughs!! She knew just what to do and how to make sure I was comfortable as labor progressed. My husband and I could not have asked for a better person to be there helping us and guiding us through this amazing day!

I knew Joy was the perfect doula for us within minutes of meeting her. She brings a presence full of peace + calm + kindness wherever she goes. My husband and I felt an immense sense of relief after finding her and choosing to work with her. Our prenatal meetings were filled with both intentionality + education as she sought to learn us as a couple and our vision for our birth experience, while sharing her knowledge. Labor and delivery was a lifelong fear of mine and I cannot explain how empowered + equipped I felt because of our partnership with Joy. I had a long labor + delivery and because of Joy, my husband was even able to rest for a few hours in the night so he could be fully present for our son's entrance into the world. We are beyond grateful that we had her along for the journey to advise him and support/comfort me during labor. Working with Joy was truly the best investment we made into our birth experience.

Joy embodies her name! From the moment I met her I new she was the doula for us. She listened to our needs and desires for our birth and helped lay out the steps to give us the best chance for the birth we desired. I hoped and prayed a natural, peaceful birth in a hospital environment and knew my husband and I, even having studied birth and techniques, needed an advocate there and to help us work thru both mental and physical preparation for the birth of our baby. Joy did these things above and beyond. Knowledgeable and and encouraging, she gave me the confidence to know that I was able to give birth naturally, and gave us the tools we needed, such as teaching us exercises and working through any fears I may have. Her peaceful presence in our prenatal meetings and also at the birth were such a blessing and instrumental to the birth of my dreams! I highly recommend hiring Joy, you'll not only have an incredible doula but you'll also end up with a dear friend!

As I labored, she steadfastly read Scripture over me (per my request), poured out words of encouragement, and massaged my tired body. I had Joy as my doula being a first time mom, and I really appreciated her knowledge of things to think about and decide about my labor and delivery that I didn't know before. And when I went through Prodromal labor for a week before giving birth, she was there for me, and had lots of encouragement and helped me learn to breathe through the contractions. I was thankful to have Joy as a support person because I was so scared to give birth, and having her knowledge and presence with me really helped me through the extremely difficult labor process.

As my doula, Joy had a difficult task: to be the doula for a strongly opinionated, independent, used-to-serving-others-but-reluctant-to-accept-help, experienced doula and mama of five. The best of doulas tailor their support to the desires of their clients, and Joy did just that. She did everything exactly right. There is nothing I would change about how she supported me, nothing I wish she had said or didn't say, did or didn't do. I have nothing but gratitude and praise for Joy's doula support. 

Joy listened well during our prenatal visits, asked good questions, and honored my concerns and requests, while also being flexible and attentive to the needs that presented themselves during the birth. When she entered the room where I was laboring, I felt a deeper sense of courage, strength, and peace, and suddenly felt ready to dive into the work of birthing my baby. As I labored, Joy worked hard behind-the-scenes to meet my physical needs (refilling water bottles, doling out snacks, cleaning up, fetching blankets, etc.), to free up my husband to remain close by my side, which is one of the major reasons we hired a doula. She was thoughtful and encouraging in her words, but also knew when to be silent (which is just as valuable!). Her joy over the birth of our sweet little one was palpable. 

The birth, as sweet and wonderful as it was, would not have been the same without Joy Lind there. She is a remarkable, passionate, caring doula who goes above and beyond to serve "her mamas" in a myriad of ways. The difference she made in our birth experience was worth every cent and more!
