Relevant volunteer or advocacy work

Working currently with a maternal non profit focused on doing advocacy in communities in need from the Black Maternal Health Crisis. Being an advocate for birth justice I want to help anyone that is vulnerable from racial bias. Also as licensed massage therapist over 10 years and owner of My Time For Massage in Seattle. Having experience of the anatomy of the body and mind connection is my strong suit. Over 16 years working with prenatal clients in healthcare. Massage that I am known for is deep tissue therapeutic treatment also I known to flip breech baby’s for those looking to have vaginal births. Although nothing is guaranteed regular massages help improve outcomes those expecting and postpartum care (helping to reduce depression). Client’s have worked with me to achieve their birthing goals. Naturally a nurturer, I enjoy being the caregiver and motivation for my clients when they need. Working with many client’s through the year to help with fertility, achieving VBACs and mental health challenges. What I feel naturally as a doula is what my client’s say can’t be bought. Being an intuitive reader I connect with my client’s to make sure I assist the best way possible in helping them achieve their birthing goals. Also shall you identify as a BIPOC birthing person and aren’t financially in the position for a doula again that’s totally okay as well. Please reach out to chat for our free consultation where we can talk about our options together on your birth journey. Looking forward to chatting and thank you for reading this.

My first birth experience was not as joyful as it should be. I went through a lot.

When I was pregnant the second time, I knew I had to do something different so that I can enjoy the birth process.I started talking to my friends, did my own research and finally decided to have a doula. I did some searching online and came across Myesha’s profile. I was impressed because Myesha is also a licensed massage therapist.

I gave Myesha a call and shared my previous experience and what I’m looking for. Our discussion made me feel like I’m talking to my sister. I told her that I made my decision to go with her.

During my pregnancy, I was seeing Myesha once a week on Monday for a massage. Myesha took her time with the massage. We chatted and chatted like sisters. Myesha gave me the confidence I never had.

I started my labor late on Dec 27. I kept in touch with Myesha and took her advice not to go to the hospital early. Around 2 AM the next day, me and my husband finally decided to go to the hospital. Honestly before Myesha came, me, my husband and the nurse were quiet for the most part in the room. But, when Myesha came, she literally lit up the room. All of a sudden everyone in the room started talking. I felt a sigh of relief. Myesha started giving me a massage. We started doing some exercises while listening to R&B music. My husband was so relaxed, he was watching a soccer game on his phone. At some point, I was doing a sit-up and that broke my water. When I started experiencing the most painful contractions, Myesha mentioned that pain is okay but she didn’t want me to suffer. She suggested I should have epidural to help me sleep and get ready to have my baby. Just like she said, when I woke up and started to have contractions, I only did one and a half push and gave birth to my baby girl.

A million thanks to Myesha. This time I had the best birth experience.

I can't say enough good things about Myesha. I started as her massage client and became a doula client after finding out I was pregnant with my first child. It was so comforting knowing that I had someone who knew me and my body and exactly how to push me and when to do it. She worked flawlessly with the hospital staff and made the environment as calming as she could during my induction. Her massage skills also came in handy to help decrease my pain for my non medicated birth. Myesha goes above and beyond for her clients and she truly cares which is hard to come by. You won't regret having her on your team!

As black first time parents, my wife and I had concerns about positive outcomes for the birth of our child and the wellbeing of mom. Unfortunately black parents experiance disproportionate negative outcomes when going through the birthing process and we wanted to do everything possible to mitigate that. Myesha worked with us on getting focused on the things that we needed to focus prior to labor, she was with us throughout labor, and advocated for us with the hospital staff. With Myesha by our side, my wife successfully give birth to a healthy baby girl, and my wife was also able come out with her health and wellbeing fully intact. To this day, we thank her for all that she has done for us. We also thank her for advocating for our community, and for supporting black women, and black families while going through this exciting and scary process.

Myesha was amazing. Having her with me really helped when I was having my daughter. She made it to where I just needed to focus on what I needed and not worry about anything else. She was extremely supportive. As being a first time mom you worry about everything and you can be scared I say to communicate those fears. Let her know what you'd like and what you wouldn't. Myesha is there to help you and your little one have a safe and healthy delivery. I got to the point where I really needed to trust completely what my body was telling me and I was able to do so and the fear that I had surrounding having to get a C-section disappeared with the support and understanding from Myesha. If I happen to have another child. I would definitely hope that she could help me because I would love to have her as a doula again.

First I'll say that Myesha is a great friend, and also is the best doula. I have known her for 20 years just about, and she still has the same big heart as she did when we first met. I didn't have a doula during my first pregnancy, but decided because it was her I would have one this second time around. Lol. Myesha is very knowledgeable in every aspect of what she does. She was a 2nd voice, and advocated for me during labor. I appreciated that!!! She was, and still is very supportive. She gets very busy with her own life, work, and her family, but she still makes time to check in on me, and both of my kids. If I need anything she is supportive with resources, and love! I love Myesha. I would recommend her 100 percent to anyone in need of doula services, and support!!

I was really scared to get a doula and a part of me didn’t even know what a doula was. I’m so grateful that I gave the doula program a chance because I met Myesha.  I had a very complicated pregnancy and didn’t get to even meet Myesha until basically my delivery and she was so helpful and I wish I would’ve spent my entire pregnancy with her. She assisted my labor and was really the only reason I made it to 7cm natural not only did she advocate for me in the delivery room when I was getting anxious and stressed. She made sure I had my chance to actually have a vaginal birth when they opted for a Cesarean (which I’m extremely terrified of) . She’s more than just a doula she’s really like extended family with unlimited problem solving skills and with me being a new mother and very young she definitely is a never ending treasure of knowledge. Myesha is the greatest ever and I’m truly glad we were matched together! Postpartum has been scary but knowing I have Myesha in my corner I’m truly confident that I can face my fears head on. She is my superwoman who helps me with anything I absolutely love her! Don't hesitate with her because she has so many great things to offer.

I could NOT have gotten through my pregnancy and delivery without my doula. Myesha was there for me during my most vulnerable moments and held me when I needed to be held. During my labor, as a certified massage therapist, Myesha massaged me for HOURS as we worked together to deliver my son. During my postpartum period, she constantly checked on me...more than my physicians! I thought I was hiring birth support and ended up gaining a friendship. Myesha provided us with postpartum support in addition to doula services and cared for me as if she had known me my whole life. My family and I are forever grateful for her. Thank you for everything Myesha.

Our experience with Myesha was the most ideal experience I could've asked for. My first labor and delivery experience over two years ago with a different doula had me prepared to not have a doula's support at all. I met Myesha and told her my experience and she suggested I give her the opportunity to be a part of my healing. my baby was due in March and we started working with Myesha as a massage therapist in September/October. She does prenatal massages and her support in that area encouraged me to continue drinking a lot of water and working out to the best of my ability. She checked on me, gave me welcomed accountability support, from the time I met her up through to now, after my baby has been here for a few weeks.

She made sure, in labor and delivery, that to advocate for and with us to be a team with the nurses and doctors in a way I don't think would've been possible without her support.

This experience of pregnancy, labor and delivery was extremely positive due to her contribution for sure. I truly want her to be my Doula for all future pregnancies, God willing, because this experience was a trust building and affirming process.

My husband and I have been telling our birth experience story to friends and family enthusiastically and her role and how she supported us and was present with us comes up every time. We now have experience being very confident with the support our doula provides.

Myesha was my Licensed Massage Therapist and my Doula. I say "was" only because I no longer live in Seattle. If I were still in Seattle I would definitely hire Myesha to be my Doula again! She provided helpful guidance prior to labor and delivery, and advocated for me while at the hospital. She also patiently guided my husband, step by step, as he changed baby's first diaper. I unexpectedly had to be monitored in a ward away from my baby and my husband just hours after delivery; Myesha stayed with my husband until 4:00 AM to help him get settled and build some confidence in caring for our newborn daughter. Of course hospital staff popped in to help as well, but Myesha's dedication and sacrifice were invaluable. Baby's first day outside of my belly would've gone way different without Myesha's help!

Myesha is an amazing doula. We were her first official clients in February 2020. From the moment my husband and I met her we knew she was the doula we needed to keep our minds, bodies and spirits centered through the birthing process. Myesha brings energy, life, power, calm, competence, and comfort to the job.  Her massage technique is fierce, and her strength and caring demeanor are fiercer. She looked out for us on all fronts, captured great photos of the beautiful messiness of childbirth, and brought a wonderful presence to the experience.

I began the journey of my last pregnancy in fear..I live on a small-ish island with a predominantly caucasian population..with that being said, the mortality rate of African-Americans during child-birth was glaring me directly in the face and I was TERRIFIED. I searched high and low on this island for an advocate during my birth but was to no avail. Finally, I found Myesha and she INSTANTLY eased my worries. She traveled to me, was available whenever I needed her, and she genuinely cares about our family. She is SO caring and kind and I have NO DOUBT that if COVID had not have made it where she was not able to be present for the birth of our daughter, she would have been EVERYTHING I needed in that room that evening. My experience in the hospital was not the best but Myesha tried to make the best of a bad situation and found other ways to be there for us. We appreciate and love Myesha and I can bet my bottom dollar that her future clients will, too. She may have even found a new sister/friend in me during this process as well. Lol.

My name is Kirra. I live in Washington State. I am pregnant with my 3rd child. I previously had 2 c-sections but this time I wanted to try for a vaginal birth/VBAC/TOLAC. It was super hard finding doctors that support that here, in fact I was being sent off to a different doctor in a different facility in a different city up until I was 30weeks. Luckily I found my doula Myesha, she is such a sweet heart and encouraged me not to worry! She helped me educate myself on the importance of having a doula or any support system. She's also a masseuse which made my experience with her so much better! She is full of positivity, laughter, encouragement, and just an overall sweet and loving person. She helped make my 3rd trimester so much easier compared to the way I started... alone. Another big Thanks to Myesha ??
