Hilary was exactly the type of birth doula I was looking for. She was so helpful and caring before, during and after my delivery. I was at ease knowing I had her support. She also helped calm my husband's nerves down during the delivery. She gave great tips and suggestions and worked really well with the nurses during my care. I would highly recommend Hilary as a birth doula, I couldn't have made it through without her!

Working with Hilary was one of the best choices I made for my pregnancy journey. My husband and I decided it would help me to feel empowered and confident. I researched several doulas, interviewed a few including Hilary and decided she was a great fit. She's DONA certified, she has been a part of several births and has a background in prenatal fitness and therefore has a thorough understanding of what the body experiences during pregnancy, as well as having children of her own. She's warm, personable, and friendly. Her communication was speedy and reliable. During pregnancy, she reached out to me to ask how I was doing, and how prenatal appointments were going. Our meetings were at my house and included my husband. We got to know eachother more, discussed my pregnancy, as well as birth, labor and delivery preferences, coping techniques, and how to reach her when I went into labor. She was flexible about supporting me at any phase of labor I wanted, whether it was when contractions began, or as soon as I got to the hospital. My contractions lasted almost 3 days and I was in frequent contact with Hilary. She helped me cope and was another set of ears with hospital staff. She provided physical and emotional support. She was attentive to my husband and would check in with him. My labor was a very long exhausting day, Hilary was there for all of it, including when I ended up needing an emergent cesarean section. Her support was invaluable during an extremely overwhelming experience for me. I was incredibly grateful to have Hilary stay with me so my husband could go with baby to the NICU and I wouldn't be left alone. At postpartum visits, we reviewed the experience, she helped me to feel confident about the decisions my husband and I made. I was able to hire her for additional postpartum visits too. She held baby so I could get caught up on sleep. If you're on the fence about whether or not to hire a doula, you won't regret it! I would absolutely recommend Hilary!

We are incredibly grateful for Hilary and hiring her as our doula was the best decision we made for our birth. She was an invaluable support to me and my partner during my pregnancy, labor, and delivery. During a very difficult labor, Hilary was there for me every step of the way. She provided me with physical and emotional support, and she helped me to stay calm and focused.  She also advocated for me with the hospital staff, ensuring that my wishes were respected. She also helped my husband to feel involved and supported. She was an essential part of my birth team, and I am so grateful for her support. We would highly recommend her to anyone that asked.

Hilary was fantastic. Not only professional, responsive and personable but funny and caring to boot! I had a very normal pregnancy and hired Hilary in my second trimester. When my disastrous third trimester rendered a severe preeclampsia diagnosis, long hospital stay and a much earlier birth than I had expected,  Hilary was so attentive!  Because I was getting induced so early as my preeclampsia developed in HELLP syndrome, induction was likely going to take a while. Hilary came to the hospital when I called her in and was there to stay!! It was so nice having her there during labor helping me understand what was happening when it was happening. I appreciated her friendly comradery with the medical staff which put me at ease and she fit in so well as a part of my team. Since id had such a long hospital stay, I’d known many of the nurses and doctors and I can’t tell you how seamlessly she fit in! She was helpful in such practical ways, including positioning for contractions, pain management techniques and even just grabbing coffee for us. I ended up needing a C-section. She even packed all my things to take that off of my husbands plate. I had accumulated so much stuff during my stay that having that off his plate was invaluable. We made a plan knowing our little one would need or head to NICU right after birth. My husband would go with the baby and Hilary would wait for me in my recovery room. She set up the whole room for us- and when I say we had a lot of stuff…we had a lot of stuff! She put all my Christmas decor up to Make me feel at home. It was so comforting knowing that she would be in recovery waiting for me and that I wouldn’t be alone after the surgery and not having my baby or husband near by. I’m so thankful for her kindness, practical advice, help and presence. I can’t say enough good things about her and I’m so thankful she’s a part of our story!

Hilary was an amazing source of knowledge and support for my husband and I. We hired Hilary to support us through the birth of our first child. I was initially hesitant about hiring a doula because it looked like I'd need a C-section. After getting the all clear for a vaginal delivery, we decided a doula would be a good option for us. As it turns out, I needed an emergency C-section. My birth ended up being so far removed from the birth plan I'd written, but the one constant was Hilary. Having her there with us allowed us to focus on the birth of our child and not how it was happening. She kept both of us calm and explained what was happening when the medical staff couldn't. She definitely proved me wrong about needing a doula for a C-section! She continued to support us after birth with additional visits, frequent check-ins, and additional support. We're so grateful we had Hilary as we entered this next chapter of our lives.

We feel so blessed to hire Hilary as our birth doula. As a first time Mom, there is so much unknown to us. Having her gave us so much comfort and encouragement throughout the birth journey. Without her, I cannot imagine that we would be able to have a natural birth. Both my husband and I are so thankful that we actually hired her! She also supported us after birth as I faced issues with breastfeeding. I also want to share that Hilary has a very positive spirit. Just bring around her makes us feel uplifted! Thank you so much for being such a faithful doula and coming to our home at such a needed time! Forever grateful!

Hilary was an exceptional doula and a wonderful addition to our birth story. As first time parents, we felt prepared going into labor and what to expect thanks to our initial meetings with her. She was responsive and attended our hospital labor throughout the entire process. When labor took a couple turns, Hilary was there to explain what options we had and what we might need to consider. She came prepared and ensured our stay and delivery were as comfortable as possible. Her post-labor visits were very helpful in navigating those first few weeks of parenthood as well. We appreciated having her as a another resource to help with the wild ride that child birth really is. Thank you, Hilary for being there for us!

For my 3rd birth I decided to hire a doula. I knew Hilary had extensive knowledge in prenatal and postnatal fitness. She has supported moms in all stages of motherhood through the FIT4MOM programs. I knew she was a perfect match for what I was looking for in a doula. I’m so thankful she was there during my labor. She provided me with all the support I needed to get me through a difficult labor, that didn’t go as planned. She provided me the strength I needed with her words of encouragement and didn’t leave my side the whole time. Her 3 day follow up, when she came to my house to check on me and baby was so helpful. It allowed me the opportunity to talk about my birth experience and how I perceived it. She was able to tell me about her point of view and helped me change my mindset to make me feel powerful and strong. Thank you so much for all your support through my pregnancy, labor and beyond!

    A couple months ago, when my wife and I found out that the pandemic requirements at the hospital meant that I was going to be the only one with her while she was in labor, I was really overwhelmed. We decided to find a doula for support and that’s when we found Hilary. When we met her, we both felt confident that she would be a fitting match for us. She was very accommodating and available for questions throughout the process.

    The morning when labor started, Hilary met us at the hospital a few minutes after we had checked in. I was so glad that she was there because everything I had learned from books in preparation seemed to go out the window from my adrenaline. Hilary steered me in the right direction to assist my wife and I was reassured when things got tense.

    Hilary was both attentive to my wife's needs, as well as my own; from eating, hydration, temperature regulation for my wife, etc. She took away the stress and guilt of not being at my wife's bedside when I needed to take a momentary break in order to take care of myself.

    The moment that I met my son is a moment that cannot begin to describe and the journey to get to that point was a positive one because of Hilary’s help. Without her, I would have been overwhelmed and felt helpless.

    A couple days after my wife gave birth, Hilary also drove out to our house to make sure we were doing alright and answered any "new parent" questions we had. I would 100% recommend Hilary to make such an important moment a great experience.

I am so incredibly thankful for Hilary. My husband and I found out we were pregnant with our first child right before the pandemic hit. We took online birthing and childcare classes, but I was feeling really nervous about labor, especially without having had the chance to to have had those classes in person. My husband and I decided that having a doula at the birth would make us both a lot less anxious.

We initially Skyped with Hilary to see if we would be a good fit and right away we both felt completely at ease with her. Hilary made herself available to answer any questions that we had in the weeks leading up to labor and we met with her in person a couple of times to make sure that she knew my birth plan, my husband and I had a chance to practice some comfort techniques, and we could ask any last questions that came up. When I went into labor, she met us at the hospital right when we got there. She coordinated with the hospital staff and made sure that my wishes were respected regarding my birth plan. Every time I felt discouraged during labor, Hilary was there to make me feel confident in my own strength and my body’s ability to know what it needed to do. She also helped to guide my husband in how to best comfort me at different points. Hilary stayed with us after delivery until I had a chance to feed to baby and my husband and I both had a chance to eat as well. She also checked in with us multiple times in the next couple of days and came to our home a few days later to see how we were doing and answer any questions.

I am so so glad that we worked with Hilary. I’m not sure that I would have stuck with my birth plan without her and that moment when I first saw my son after having gotten through what felt impossible is a feeling that I will never forget. She empathized with my pain, but kept up a positive energy that I really needed to make it through my labor.
