I would hire Whitney again in a heartbeat. She is kind, thorough, and curious. We felt very prepared going into having our first baby. Although our actual labor and delivery experience was nothing like we expected or planned for, Whitney provided support and reassurance the whole way through.

Whitney was amazing!!! This was my first birth and my husband and I went in knowing the basics, but not everything. She did a great job explaining everything in detail, answering all our questions and she did it all while making us feel comfortable and without judgement! We loved having two meet ups before birth, they were very helpful in learning about all of the different options and tools to use while in labor and there was always an interactive element which really helped my husband, Whitney and I with discussion and to make sure we were all on the same page. In addition to the meetings, she was consistent in sending website links, sharing articles and videos, and answering any calls and texts.

During birth she went above and beyond! She reminded us of our birth plan, got water, cool rags, snacks, and was very encouraging while we tried different birthing positions. When things didn’t go to plan she was always there to support us and go with the flow. She was also open to taking photos and videos which are great to look back on. She stayed after the birth and helped with breast feeding and even went out and brought us dinner back to the hospital!

I would definitely recommend Whitney to anyone looking to have a great birth experience!! She was awesome and if we have another child I can’t wait to utilize her knowledge and skills again!

If you're on the fence about hiring a Doula, then this is the review telling you to do it!

For us, my husband and I were well aware that words of encouragement were not his strong suit and that was the main reason for hiring a Doula and unbeknownst to me there were so many other great benefits of hiring Whitney. The education before birth and just the ability to ask questions was so helpful. My husband and I both agree that having a Doula (or two in my case) was one of the best decisions that we made. As cliché as it sounds, I feel like I barely remember my labor/birth a mere seven months later but from what I do recall, it was such a blessing to have women there helping me with encouraging words, counter pressure, back rubs, encouraging me to stretch/walk the stairs to continue labor progression & cold washcloths on my neck while pushing. Also, the support immediately after birth with breast-feeding as well as months later I felt like I could call or text with any question or concern. I also felt like Whitney genuinely cared about me, the baby, our breast-feeding journey, as well as my healing physically and emotionally with processing the birth. I will forever encourage women to hire a Doula - even if you don't think you need one because I guarantee you will get at least one positive benefit from it, if not several!

This was my second birth and I knew I wanted it to be a different experience. I had my heart set on doing it unmedicated and after doing my research, having a doula present is a huge factor in achieving this. I found Whitney, and after interviewing her immediately felt comfortable and like I was in good hands! Whitney, knows her stuff! She met with my husband and I 2 times before the birth to go over education on birth, our experience with birth, and provided us with some comfort measures! She was always available by phone or text with any questions or concerns I had! My birth was very fast and after I called her to meet us at the hospital she came right away! She was very supportive and validating and provided me with the exact comfort measures I needed! She also got the most beautiful photos and videos of my birth that are irreplaceable! I will be forever grateful for this! Thank you so much Whitney!

Whitney was such an incredible support to have during our pregnancy, labor & delivery, and the postpartum period. Her prenatal meetings were thorough and informative, offering my husband and I the chance to reflect on previous birth experiences and fully prepare for our upcoming birth. She offered many resources and was always quick to respond to any questions during my pregnancy and early stages of labor. When it came to the birth itself, she brought a calm presence paired with extensive knowledge and ideas to support me while in labor. We would recommend Whitney to anyone seeking to hire a doula - she truly provides great care and support!

After a traumatic emergency c-section with my first pregnancy, my husband and I knew we needed additional support in our second pregnancy and attempt for a VBAC. As a private person, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about having someone I didn’t know well with us as I labored. From the first meeting with Whitney, she made us feel comfortable and supported and she felt like a friend we had known for a long time. For the first time in my pregnancy, I felt excited and empowered about my labor journey.

Whitney has a commanding yet calm presence, and asked thoughtful and guiding questions that helped us frame our needs for labor. She offered  evidence based suggestions to my questions and was a wealth of knowledge leading up to labor. My biggest fear based on my last labor was that I would not be able to find my voice or advocate for myself during the laboring process. With Whitney’s guidance and presence, we felt in control the entire time of the decision making process with the midwife, nurses and doctor. I was able to ask the questions I needed and felt comforted knowing Whitney was there to back us up on our birth plan the entire way.

Whitney was also a mind reader on all our needs during our very long labor- bringing cool wash clothes, suggesting new positions, offering a calm voice and comfort measures. When hospital protocol didn’t allow me to get in the laboring tub as quickly as I hoped, Whitney quickly questioned if I could use the shower instead, allowing me the comfort I needed.

While my labor ultimately ended in c-section, I was still left feeling empowered, supported and part of the decision. I truly don’t think I would have felt that way without Whitney’s guidance. My postpartum experience has been completely different this time around thanks to the support I received. Thank you, Whitney!

This was our first baby, which came with a lot of questions.  Researching on my own caused me to feel a bit overwhelmed and anxious.  Then we welcomed Whitney onto our birth team.  Whitney’s calm and confident presence was just what I needed.  Her wealth of knowledge helped my husband and I learn about all of our options, and navigate through all of the decisions and preparations that needed to be made during our pregnancy, labor, and postpartum experiences.  She facilitated discussions between my husband and I about topics we may never had thought to discuss in order to help us prepare for this big change in our family. Whitney’s support and encouragement gave me the confidence I needed, and helped me have a positive birth experience.  Whitney was such a valuable part of our birth team.  I’m so thankful we found her!

Whitney was the missing piece.

Although we are seasoned parents, with our 4th child we decided to switch from a traditional hospital birth (with an epidural) to an unmediated birth center birth for the first time. This switch came with excitement but also a lot  of unknowns. Whitey took the time to understand our wishes and desires for this new birthing experience.

When the day arrived it was easy to trust her advice and suggestions for what was needed for our baby to be born. She had an extremely calm yet confident demeanor, always offering encouragement and support to not only me but also my support team.

Whitney worked wonderfully with the midwife team to understand exactly where baby was positioned and knew what to do to progress labor. She continually spoke words of encouragement to me while I labored and allowed me to work through the emotions of delivery.

Whitney truly allowed me to experience my dream unmediated birth. I am so thankful for her presence and support

We are very happy with our decision to work with Whitney as our doula as we welcomed our first baby in May 2021. We were impressed by her professional, evidence-based and compassionate approach to working with her clients. The biggest benefits we experienced in working with her were:

The prenatal appointments: These went way beyond the online “birth preparation” course we had done. While we had a basic idea of our preferences, Whitney helped us understand the possible interventions and options so we could truly identify priorities for our birth experience.

Her knowledge and resources: Pregnancy comes with a lot of “Google-ing!” I loved having Whitney as a go-to birth expert who was always happy to answer random questions (what to pack?), provide research-based articles, links to the most useful YouTube videos or podcasts, and other expert resources if you need them.

Her support and expertise in Spinning Babies positions: When our little guy changed positions a few hours into my labor induction, things started changing course. With the prep we’d done and Whitney’s support we felt confident in our decisions and efforts to try all options before ultimately going forward with a c-section. We felt like Whitney offered more guidance and ideas, such as Spinning Babies techniques, that we wouldn’t have gotten from the nurse and hospital staff.

Overall, we had an amazing birth experience and Whitney was key in making it so!

I work at a birth center and recently had the plasure of working alongisde Whitney at a labor recently. From my perspective, Whitney's support during a long and difficult labor was unwavering. She ensured that they were nourished, hydrated, and held the entire time they were admitted to the birth center. In addition to helping facilitate thoughtful movement and position changes to promote progress, Whitney offered great informational support as they navigated their experience. It was great to work alongside her and I would absolutely recommend her to expecting families!

My husband and I are so grateful to have found Whitney to be our doula for our first baby. She was warm, kind, and open from the very beginning, acting as a pillar of knowledge and strength as she helped to lead us through this sometimes daunting process. She was an incredible guide during the birth itself, instinctively responding to both my needs and my husband’s. Providing comfort, calm, and logistical support (like getting the bath ready, handling music, and just generally making sure things in the room were in order), she helped make it possible for my husband to be fully present during the most difficult points of labor. I felt like we were truly able to see our goals realized with Whitney’s help, and this experience would not be the same without her. We would recommend Whitney to anyone and everyone looking for an incredible doula! Thank you Whitney!!

I truly couldn't have imagined our birth experience without Whitney. She was a calming and reassuring presence during each unexpected turn. I ended up with an unplanned c-section after stalled labor, which was my biggest fear. Having her there to be with me and take care of my needs in the operating room while my husband could be with our daughter after they got her out was invaluable for my mental and emotional health. I can't imagine what it would have been like if I had to to sit there alone during the most traumatic experience I've ever had while they finished the surgery. The preparation we received from Whitney in our meetings beforehand was extremely beneficial to my pregnancy and labor for both my husband and I. Whitney was not only like a labor coach to me, but she was for my husband as well. I cannot recommend working with Whitney enough, she was such a rock for us.

Whitney was amazing to work with.  She assisted us with our second baby, Miss Stevie Anne.  It was in June of 2020, so the beginning of Covid and even though she was not able to be in the hospital she helped tremendously!  We went through steps that would be helpful, massage techniques, ways to calm me and how to breathe through it.  Also, with my first, I did not go through the labor process outside of the hospital, so when I went into labor at home,  Whitney guided me through it.  She listened to me through contractions, talked me through breathing, and helped in making the decision as to when to go to the hospital.  I couldn't have done it without her!  I would highly recommend her to anybody!

We found Whitney to be incredibly helpful throughout the whole process of pregnancy through labor. During pregnancy she asked so many good questions that sparked us discussing things together that we never thought about. She also was really good at giving different resources for us to learn more about and come to a decision together on various different things in the process. Her visits also brought with them very practical tips to help in the preparation of labor and the day of labor. These being different stretches or ways to alleviate pain and they all proved to be very helpful. The day of labor was a little bit of a whirlwind and we were so thankful to have her confident and calm voice with us in the midst of everything. She was ready to provide whatever was needed, help in an way with massages and speak encouraging words throughout labor. She also got some AMAZING photos that we will cherish for the rest of our lifes. All in all, it was such a good experiences and would highly recommend having Whitney by your side in the journey!

We absolutely loved having Whitney as our doula. We hired her for the birth of our second child and from the beginning she was thoughtful, easy to work with, and a wealth of knowledge. I felt very well taken care of, and knew that I could go to her with my questions, concerns, fears and joys. During labor she offered helpful suggestions, gave appropriate space for my husband to support me, and adjusted well when things did and/or did not work for me. I could not have been happier with how the birth of our son went, and Whitney was absolutely essential to that! I cannot recommend her enough.

Whitney Is the the calm encouragement you want during pregnancy and birth.  She is very knowledgeable about a plethora of coping techniques for labor and the long days leading up to labor. She seemed to be almost a mind reader during labor of what was helpful and what was not . Perhaps most importantly her calm presence throughout the birth helped my partner remain centered and focused. I was lucky enough to have the birth experience always dreamed about, and Whitney played a major role in that. She is very responsive with communication and will find evidence based answers to any questions she may not already know the answers to. I would recommend her to any friend seeking a doula.
