I highly recommend Charity Ferrusca as a birth doula for your family! And yes, I say family because she was not just there for me.. she was there to help my husband care for me and teach him ways to support me. She was there after my unplanned csection for my daughter. And she was amazing for my support as well.

Lets start with the fact that my induction date was supposed to be Dec 4th. I went to St. Joes at the time i was called in. A doctor tried to pressure me into breaking my water with zero progress made, and Charity helped me advocate for myself by listening to my wants and when the doctor argued with me, she fought back when i emotionally couldn't anymore. We ended up leaving in the end. Dec 9th, we went to St. Elizabeth in Enuclaw for my induction to be finished. Charity helped me through that whole week induce my labor naturally, keep my sanity, and helped my pain. The day we went in, she came, stayed the night with us and was so vigilant in making sure I was getting rest. The next day, she had me up moving, in different positions, and getting my labor to progress as much as we could. Sane with the day after that. She brought a TENS unit (that was my BESTFRIEND,) a labor comb which was great, essential oils for nausea and pain, and hundreds of other tools and education things. She applied counter pressure through my contractions, and taught my husband how to as well so she could help other areas at the same time. She was literally super woman for 3 WHOLE DAYS until I had a csection due to my tiny human being tricky??.

Charity was AMAZING. I truly could not have done this birth without her. I had so many fears and hesitations but I was also firm on how I wanted my birth to go this time. Charity helped me feel confident all through my pregnancy and prepare for the birth, and then she helped me achieve my dreams of a safe and successful VBA2C at home. She was with me through my almost 3 day labor and birth, and she provided she much emotional support and good pain management techniques. My husband also felt very supported by her. I loved that she was very helpful, but also constantly reminded me I was in control and sat back at times to let me have independence and birth the way my body was telling me to. She is very knowledgeable and was invaluable to me during this process.

She was amazing. I hired her fairly early in my pregnancy and we shared multiple phone calls going over just the type of person I am/things I like. We met up on multiple occasions to talk about how I visioned birth and what I wanted. She was always able to get ahold of when I needed help with remedies for pregnancy aches and pains/symptoms. When I went into labor she came over at 3 in the morning to go on a walk/curb walk and worked with me all day to get contractions started. She was supportive during labor to remind me that I could do it and was getting closer with each contraction!

Charity has helped me in so many ways throughout my pregnancy and my labor . I’ve had fears and doubts because of my mindset , I was terrified of the pain . I would have never imagine that my fifth child would be my natural home birth baby ! If it wasn’t for charity I don’t think I would have ever made it , her positive mindset and compassion pushed me to overcome the pain and bring my baby earth side . I can say no more how chaotic my labor was , it was the absolute best experience ever !!!

My main goal was to have a completely u medicated birth and only use breathing, movement and counter pressure. I went into labor and had my second child 2 weeks before my due date. Because of Charity I was able to have the birth of my dreams. I did give birth at a hospital, so while the nurses and doctors where trying to get me to take medications, Charity politely and continuous reminded them that it was not in my birth plan. She was a strong advocate for me and my wishes. She also guided my husband on ways to help me with my comfort. Charity checked in the next day to see how we are all doing and still checks in every now and then. I am grateful I have worked with her.

Charity was communitive, open-minded and informative. She helped me with pain management and was my voice when I did not know what to do. She encouraged me when I felt stuck, and guided me through my second birth.

I love how Charity emotionally and physically supported me but at the same time allowed me and my independence with delivering my child unassisted.
