Working with Amanda was one of the best decisions I made. Besides her being a wonderful human, having a doula to support my pregnancy/labor made such a difference in my journey. Everytime I spoke to Amanda about questions I had or us prepping for labor, I walked away at ease. I learned so much from her and at no point did I feel scared to give birth. It really makes such a difference having someone to educate and advocate for you!  She has such a calming presence and is so easy to talk to. During my labor, her calmness kept me calm. She broke down everything that was happening, insured me that things would be ok and stayed by my side (along with my husband's) through the whole L&D until I was sent to my postpartum room. Communication with her did not stop there and I appreciated her checking up on us the following days. I am looking forward to working with her again in my next pregnancy :)

Amanda was the best doula we could have asked for. She has a total understanding of the pregnant woman's body and the birth process and is aware of all of the interventions and risks that face you throughout pregnancy and during labor.
Amanda was fully hands on with me from the day we decided to work with her until well past my labor date. She was available for questions about random pregnancy quirks all the way through breastfeeding and napping tips.
I had a nerve wracking labor process that started with an early inducrion and ended with a c section. Amanda knew my fears and held my hand and guided me and my husband throughout the entire process. I always felt comfortable with all of my decisions because Amanda explained the alternatives and used her vast experience to help guide me towards the choices that made the most sense for my circumstances.
She is warm, funny, vibrant, approachable, and smart. I will hopefully (happily!) use her in the future and recommend her to anyone who is looking for a doula who feels like your best friend, your big sister, and the doctor you're not afraid of all in one.
She is first and foremost your champion and always has your best interest, your health, and your baby's health guiding her. We love Amanda!

Finding Amanda as our doula for my first pregnancy and birth was beyond important! She is so kind and down to earth, easy to connect with, and I felt so comfortable with her. It was so helpful to have someone to ask all the random and TMI questions that come up during pregnancy, especially towards the end. Amanda was amazing during my labor and provided incredible support to me and my husband. We both felt so secure with her there and it was so wonderful to have another advocate in the room. She helped guide my husband in ways to support me, gave hands on support when he couldn't, and also helped my husband to understand and feel comfortable with everything that was going on. I am so grateful that Amanda was there with us through the rollercoaster that is pregnancy and delivery! She helped me to feel strong and empowered, both during and after my birth. She's just the best, and I hope she'll be able to be with me for future babies too!!

Amanda was beyond amazing to work with during my pregnancy and through my delivery. She consistently checked in on me and made sure I knew I could reach out to her anytime. When I went into labor she was great about what steps I needed to take next and was quick to get to the hospital to be with me. She was there throughout the whole process and I'm not sure what my husband and I would have done without her there. She made sure to do everything she could to help progress my labor more quickly (changing positions consistently) and made sure my husband and I knew what was going on as well as that I was as comfortable as I could be. I highly recommend Amanda for anyone looking for a doula!

Amanda was amazing to work with from our initial consultation to our postpartum visit.  She was knowledgeable, comforting, and confident during each phase.  My birth plan did not go as expected, but Amanda was able to help us understand each step of the process while advocating for us when needed.  She was extremely communicative via text or call as well.  I can't speak higher of Amanda and would highly recommend her as your doula!

I highly recommend Amanda! We interviewed 4 doulas, and she stood out among the rest. I was very adament in what I wanted for my birth and Amanda was a pillar in helping me achieve it! I knew I didn't want an epidural, and when I thought I might break down, Amanda was THERE and had my back and helped me through it all in order to honor my wishes. In the weeks leading up to delivery she was always available via phone and text to talk things out and offer an ear to listen. Once we were admitted, she was there within an hour and just having her presence was calming. I lost my mother 5 years ago, my mother in law passed recently, and my sister lived out of state- having another person who had been there, done that was instrumental in my overall well being and mental approach. Did I mention 3hours of pushing? She was there right by my head every single step, offering cooling towels and words of encouragement. When the time came and my husband went round to watch, who stepped in to hold that leg? She did. Having a doula, but specifically Amanda brought a peace of mind and overall calm I doubt would have been achieved otherwise.

Amanda was everything I personally needed and wanted in a doula. She was a calming, yet strong presence. She listened and understood my desire and then did everything to ensure it happened. She was respectful of my wishes while explaining vairous aspects of labor and delivery. Her follow up in the weeks and even MONTHS after has been great. When we are lucky enough to have another, I know who one of my first calls will be to: her. Thank you for everything you did and will do for our family!

From the minute we met Amanda we felt a warmth, a groundedness, and a maternal comfort. We knew she would be the perfect fit for our birth.

Since we were having a homebirth and it was our first, we wanted someone there to help guide and support us before our midwives arrived. We met with Amanda several times and always felt a comfort and care...as if we'd always known her. Amanda went out of her way to meet with our midwives and birth team. She was an enthusiastic and encouraging member of our team and worked beautifully with others. We also appreciated her relaxed demeanor, patience, and trust in a woman's body during labor.

Amanda was supportive of my wishes, curious to get to know me, and consistently supportive leading up to our labor. Having Amanda there during my labor was a godsend. She helped significantly with managing the sensations of contractions throughout my labor. She used stretches, movements, and massage to help me through contractions and supported me by staying by my side and making sure I felt cared for and comforted. Since it was my first time giving birth, and I chose to birth without any interventions, having Amanda there to guide me was such a gift. She was also reassuring and significantly supportive towards my husband as he became immersed in the world of birth for the first time. I don't think I'll ever be able to truly express how grateful I am for her care and support. Amanda is a natural nurturer and a loving soul.

Amanda was wonderful from day one she made me feel comfortable and confident when it came time to giving birth to my first child. Anytime time I had a question she would respond that day. She's very easy to talk to as if you're talking to a friend  and knowledgeable I learned so much!  I highly recommend using her and when the time comes for my second I would love her by my side!

Simply put, I am forever thankful that Amanda was present and an integral part of my second son's birth. Amanda took the time to get to know me and my family prior to my son's arrival, and as a result, seamlessly supported me throughout my labor. This allowed my husband to be present without worrying about me because Amanda intuited what I needed and had it covered. She was a constant source of support in the weeks leading up to my labor, checking in about how I was feeling, replying promptly to any inquiries I had, and ultimately, helping to inform when I should leave for the birthing center (we lived an hour away). Amanda really listens, is a strong emotional and physical support, and has a loving presence that was an amazing addition to my birthing experience. On top of all that, she took and shared a few tasteful photos that reflect the beautiful intimacy of having a baby, and I will cherish them always. I cannot recommend Amanda highly enough!

After having a traumatic first birth with a cascade of interventions, I knew I wanted a different experience the second time around. Amanda was supportive in all of the decisions I made and gave me options to consider as well. During labor and delivery, Amanda provided physical and emotional support and suggested several different laboring positions to help baby engage. She was knowledgeable and advocated for my needs, which I am so grateful for! The only thing I regret is not having Amanda at my first birth!!

I am a physician and a new mom. Amanda is a wonderful counselor and is able to rapidly build a strong trusting relationship with you. The prenatal/postpartum sessions felt more like warm social visits rather than dry clinical counters. She regularly and proactively checked in on me via texts during prodromal labor phase, and that was of big support. She is well versed and knowledgeable in what she does and wants to be available to you. I was able to have her during pushing phase (arrival delayed due to hospital COVID clearance policy, not Amanda's fault) but it was very much worth it to have her even for those 30 min. During the delivery process she pays 100% attention to you and you only, and looks out to help you at ease and feel comfortable and supported as much as possible. I loved her caring touches and the cold cloth over my forehead. Highly recommended!

Our experience working with Amanda was incredibly positive and supportive.  In particular, she helped us prepare for labor and delivery during some home visits toward the end of my pregnancy.  She was a very reassuring presence with us during labor- which was complicated by a stalled induction and a second trip back to the hospital before our baby was actually delivered.  Perhaps the most helpful thing was that Amanda reached out and came to our house a couple of days after we returned home with the baby.  It was a very vulnerable time for me and again she provided reassurance and support I didn't even know I was craving.  Amanda was responsive and accessible before, during, and after my delivery.  She was a knowledgable source of information and she never judged any of my questions.  We would certainly recommend Amanda to any family looking for support and comfort during such a highly emotional experience.

We are so grateful to have had Amanda's support throughout pregnancy, birth, and post partum. Amanda truly gets to know each of her clients and works to help birth partners support one another throughout the entire process. She's an experienced doula that has seen so much, but yet is open to new ideas and willing to pivot at any moment. We ended up with a birth story very different from the one we envisioned -- a large part of the reason why it went so well was because Amanda was by our side advocating, supporting, and standing firm. Could not imagine doing it all again without her! Highly recommend Amanda as a Doula if you are looking for one of a kind support and a few laughs along the way :)

I had a great experience with Amanda Moriarty. When she first came to my house, I was exhausted. She right away reassured me. She instantly got my five week baby to settle down, which allowed me to go upstairs to my room and get some rest. She also tidied up my house without me even asking. As the weeks progressed, I came to enjoy our talks. She is very down to earth and not at all judgemental. She also provided me with great advice on how to settle my baby to sleep and how to feed her, and even identified her reflux issues. I highly recommend Amanda as a Doula.

We're so grateful we had the opportunity to work with Amanda.  She was our saving grace, and helped us with so many things having had a C-section, coming out of the hospital. She was so attentitve to our baby boy and I always felt so comfortable in knowing she was watching and caring for him.  He gravitated to her instantly and really loved being in her presence.

Being independent people, we weren't used to receiving help, or how it would be having someone else in our home, and Amanda fit in with us seamlessly.  She worked with our schedules and was open to doing both days or nights, to try things out.  If the baby was sleeping, she also helped with anything else we needed -from building a swing to folding and tidying up around the house.  We loved her and know that if we ever have another baby, we will definitely seek her post-partum care again.

My experience with Amanda was everything I could have hoped for in a post partum doula. She was so in tune with my needs and was the calming presence I needed in those first few weeks home with a newborn. I also have 2 other children, ages 5 and 3, and she was absolutely wonderful with them as well. I would highly recommend using Amanda to anyone looking for help post partum - she is simply the best!

I can recommend having Amanda as a doula from the bottom of my heart! She is warm hearted, empathetic and guided me through my second pregnancy amazingly! Checked in with texts and had precious advise before and after delivery! I was looking for a doula with experience in spinning babies since the delivery of my first daughter lasted for 22 hours due to a bad position. Amanda gave me exercises to do in the weeks before the due date which brought baby in an excellent position and a delivery of about 6 hours from the very first contractions and only 1 1/2 hours in hospital! I could always ask about things coming up and she always responded promptly! It felt so good and calming having Amanda with her awesome knowledge by my side!

I’ve suffered a lot with my mental health in the past, specifically with anxiety. My anxiety is most often triggered by life changing events, and pain.. emotional pain, physical pain or even the thought of being in pain. Having a baby is something I’ve always knew I wanted, but I was horrified of labor and delivery. It’s all I thought about during my entire pregnancy.

So there I was, minding my own baby business and BOOM... Covid.. lockdown.. no baby shower.. no Mom in the delivery room... Amanda continuously reassured and comforted me (and my husband) almost on a weekly basis. I even got a few massages and a foot rub out of it! LOL If it weren’t for her, my labor and delivery surely would not have gone as smooth as it did.

Thank you for answering every single one of my phone calls. Thank you for teaching us all that you have. Thank you for letting me make all of the decisions for labor and delivery. Thank you for spending the night at our house while I was in labor... Thank you!

Amanda was everything we needed in a doula. She was calm, soothing, easy to be around, directive when needed but stayed in the background if that was what was needed, she was informative and resourceful, and had several tools that she took out at the right time. She knew my birth plan front to back  and advocated for my wishes but never did so in a confrontational way. She helped calm me when I was 10cm dilated (during my unmedicated birth) by reminding me that I still had my breath and by helping my partner to massage the right places in order to counter the contractions. She took out a cold towel at the perfect time to help me get through that part of the process. Giving birth to my baby was the most incredible experience and I know for a fact that it would not have been as successful-feeling without Amanda. I am eternally grateful for her!!!
