Sanyika did a great job with helping me during my delivery. I labored for 44 hrs and she was present for at least 22hrs. I labored at home as long as I could and to our surprise we got to the hospital and my labored stalled. She helped me with different positions and moving around. After my baby was born he didn't latch too well. So she helped me.hand express quite a bit until before we moved to our ppst delivery room. She checked on us frequently even after delivery. The biggest help for me was the resources she gave prior to delivery. I was new to the area at the time and terrified of being pregnant. She gave me a class to attend that not only was free it put my entire mind at ease. Which is what you need. I labored for 36 of the 44 hrs naturally. Amd I don't think I would have been able to do that without that class. Thank you sanyika!

I would highly recommend Mrs. Sanyika services to anyone seeking a professional, patient, loving and caring doula.  I reached out to her really late during my last trimester and Mrs. Sanyika made  accommodations for me and my husband.  She was present for midwife appointments, she text and checked on me weekly.  If I had a question she made me feel comfortable asking(Sanyika's words know question is to personal). During labor Mrs. Sanyika arrived at my home and assisted me with different hand held objects that helped ease the process of labor along.  Mrs. Sanyika massaged my back almost the entire time which was extremely helpful in between contractions. Most importantly she also guided me mentally to remember my breathing and that I was doing a great job. 

My husband and I are eternally grateful for Mrs. Sanyika and will recommend her over and over again to friends and family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking part in the birth of our baby girl Ari 8/17/23 ??

This review is long overdue for Sanyika! It’s been a beautiful journey with my 16 month old baby boy whom Sanyika was there to support, coach and help bring earthside on 11.12.22!

Birth is challenging especially with your first one when you don’t know exactly what to do and expect.  It’s extremely important who you have on your birth team because you want to feel comfortable and supported during the birth, so that you only focus on relaxing, to allow your body to easily bring your baby into this world.

My husband and I hit it off from the beginning with Sanyika. We really vibe with her sweet and nurturing energy.  She is so knowledgeable about the different positions to help bring baby down. She also was a great teacher and showed my husband ways he could help support me when I’m feeling pain from the contractions.

She was wonderful at coaching/reaffirming me and reminding me how strong I am and how every contraction brings my baby closer to me.  To me birth was a spiritual journey, as I felt that I was in and out of this beautiful consciousness, gaining energy and strength from my spirit to bring my bundle of joy into this world.

Sanyika also takes birth photos and it’s totally worth it.  Every time I look at the photos,  I’m reminded of the strength and courage of my unmedicated, natural birth.  It brings me so much joy and gratitude for Sanyika, my baby and life itself.  Thank you Sanyika!!

I highly recommend Sanyika as a doula. I am a first time Mom with a lot of changes happening during my pregnancy. I wanted to ensure my baby and I were well cared for and to supplement the medical care from my MD with a more holistic approach. I choose Sanyika as a doula and am so happy I did for many reasons. During pregnancy, my son’s birth and postpartum Sanyika was very responsive and compassionate with my questions and concerns. She is an excellent and empathetic listener and provided excellent resources earlier in pregnancy and throughout the experience. 

Sanyika definitely was a huge factor in facilitating the well rounded, holistic, and supportive first pregnancy I was hoping for. She was non-jugdemental and a great communicator throughout. When I had questions or concerns Sanyika helped to provide suggestions and options but ultimately supported choosing what was best for me at the time. She worked really well with the care providers I had at the hospital as well.  I am so grateful that Sanyika definitely made for a more beautiful and safe birth experience for me and my growing family.  Our package included making a birth plan and a postpartum visit which I also found to be wonderful.  My son’s father was also very comfortable with Sanyika and appreciated her support .

When my husband and I found out that we were expecting our first child, we were over the moon. I knew that I wanted a birth experience unlike many of the stories that I heard from friends and family members, and when my midwife handed me an evidence based birth sheet about the benefits of working with a doula, we knew instantly that we had to find one. My husband told me to start searching immediately, so I did. I had interviewed a few different individuals who were all great, but as soon as we ended the first call with Sanyika we knew that she was the one we wanted to work with us through this journey. 

Throughout my entire pregnancy, Sanyika was truly a Godsend. She was always there to answer any questions that I had, and was fast to send over information that would help aid in my decision making. She was very thorough in getting to know you as an individual and your why behind your decisions. While most people in my day-to-day life would laugh when I would say I was planning for an unmedicated birth, Sanyika was there with encouragement and affirmations while giving me the space and grace to change my mind if it was what I wanted. She prepared not only myself, but also my husband for the birth of our baby boy. My husband felt empowered and ready to help me bring our baby into this world and with her teachings and support I had the natural birth of my dreams. Not only was she there as our doula, but she also beautifully captured the birth of our baby boy. Those photos alone are priceless, and everytime I look at them I am in awe.

Sanyika is definitely someone that I am glad was on our team, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for support throughout and after their pregnancy.

Choosing Sanyika as my doula was one of the best decisions we made during our pregnancy journey. Being that this was my first pregnancy, I was extremely terrified of labor and delivery. Sanyika was heaven sent. She was extremely supportive to my husband and I. She provided comforting tools to make my experience pleasant. When I look back at my pregnancy journey, I would say that my labor and delivery was one of my happiest moments and having Sanyika by our side made that possible. Sanyika also followed up after the birth of my son and offered postpartum support. I'll absolutely recommend her to any mom seeking a doula.

Who would have ever thought that the Doula I started following on Instagram would become the Doula for my second and last daughter. I met Sanyika via Instagram and found out we lived in close proximity to each other. We decided to meet and I loved her vibe and I knew that once I became pregnant that she would be the Doula for me. Throughout the pregnancy she was a source of support and someone to bounce things off of. For this birth, when I told her I was considering a home birth she was so excited. When we met we discussed my expectations of my birth she was very supportive and more than willing to work alongside my midwife. I was excited for my birth because I knew I had the A team. It was very important to have people who I vibe with be a part of something so sacred to me. I remembered Sanyika dropping by so we can go for our walks and always checking in on me during the pregnancy. Then on the morning of the birth she walked in as cool as can be and I was so happy to see her. She was able to be that extra support while my husband was busy getting the birth pool ready, we walked chatted and used that lovely sling of hers during my contractions. I remember her always being in the right place at the right times and her pouring water on my back. I remember when I vocalized that I really don't know if I can do it anymore, she repeated one of my phrases from my affirmations to encourag me. After the birth she made sure I was looked after at all times, her presence like a quiet strength, so reliable. I have and will always continue to recommend Sanyika to anyone looking to build their birth team. She also has great skill capturing moments during the labour and delivery.  Her presence made my final birth one od the best experiences of my life.

My husband and I got married March 8, 2022. On May 10, 2022 I found out I was pregnant. We weren't trying to have a baby, but we also weren't not trying, if you know what I mean. I didn't have the first clue what to do. After getting the "yes you are pregnant" from my doctor and getting prenatal vitamins, I started to google birth centers and birth doulas. I came upon Sanyika's website and really liked the vibe I got from her. We set up a virtual meeting and, not to be cheesy, I knew she was the one. She made it very clear she was there for me throughout my pregnancy if I had any questions or needed any support. We went over my birth plan and she assured me she would advocate for me while I was in labor. On January 8th I messaged Sanyika and my birth center around 7am to let them know I think this was the real thing. I labored at home with my husband some more and then Sanyika arrived. She did hands on hip pressure to help with my contractions and we also had a tens unit attached to my low back, both helped so much! We did a small lap around my street and on the way back to my house my water broke. At this point the contractions were very strong and I felt the urge to push. We made our way to the birth center and arrived around 12:30. At 1:07pm baby was born! Sanyika took photos of my birth and new baby, I look at them all the time! Baby was having trouble breathing so she and daddy made their way to the nearest hospital. Sanyika stayed with me until I was released to go see my baby at the hospital. She made sure I saw my placenta and got something to eat after birth. Baby was ready to go home after a few nights stay in the NICU. Sanyika messaged me during these days to check in on both of us. Days later we had a check in meeting where she made an amazing postpartum sitz bath and showed me how to belly wrap. She still checks in on me from time to time, and I feel like we share a special bond now. I am beyond happy I chose Sanyika for my birth doula!

Sanyika and I met at a doula training before I had kids and immediately connected. We both grew up in NJ, which was a plus, but she has the kindest heart and demeanor and I knew she was someone I wanted to stay in contact with. Fast forward 2 years, I got pregnant with our first babe and she was the first doula that came to mind. Sanyika was created to be a doula- she’s warm, strong and knows exactly when to step in or when to step back and let you do your thing during birth. She brings the party when it’s time to move and she holds quiet space when you’re going deep. And now we have the pleasure of having her support during our next birth experience! Sanyika is amazing! She provided my husband and I with many resources before and after birth. I was preparing for a natural birth and I felt so well equipped and supported. Although baby had other plans and I ended up having a c-section, she helped me understand my options which helped me to still feel in charge of my birth. I even had a birth plan for my c-section, which I didn't know was possible! After having baby, I struggled with postpartum blues. She helped me to feel heard during a very difficult time. It was such a blessing to have her with me during my pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey. Therapist. Doula. Birth Photographer. Friend. All wrapped in one.  While she may not have signed up for some of those duties she wears every hat so well. My experience with Sanyika was incredible.  She gave me information that worked for me that helped me throughout my pregnancy. She supported me through the crazy ups and downs that came with my pregnancy from just lending an ear to even offering solution-focused ideas. And then during my labor she was so supportive, encouraging,  and kind.  I would go to her for some coping support before my husband because she was so good at it. And once my home birth stalled after 40 hrs she came with us to the hospital until 6AM to support the birth of our sweet baby girl.... with cooler in hand after a last minute stop for my placenta. Did I forget to mention her postpartum support was lifesaving during those early weeks.  If only it didn't take having a baby to make use of her services because I would all the time.

Working with Sanyika was amazing. She helped me stick to my birth plan as much as possible. My baby came early and I don't know what I would have done without her. She helped me adapt to the new situation and I believe saved me from having a c-section. Her postpartum visit was really helpful. I had PPD and she showed me ways I could care for myself, such as wrapping, herbal bath, and she went on walk with me outside. She helped me remember things from my labor that I'd forgotten. Once the pictures arrived that she took of my labor/delivery...I was blown away. She really captured the best moments! 
I cannot thank her enough for being on this journey with me.

Being a 1st time mom can be so overwhelming especially when there is the unknown. Meeting Sanyika helped ease the process. She was there for any questions I needed answered day or night. I do not know how to even start. Sanyika gave me the best doula experience and it was better than I thought it would be. She was very responsive and even though she had other clients, I never felt like a number. We talked through social media platforms as I sent her countless videos of exercises and birth plan ideas. I'm sure some of them were out there but she would gracefully offer better ideas or give me food for thought. When birth became closer she checked in often and guided me on things I should be doing that would aid me in my drug free birth. Okay so maybe a week leading up to my baby's birth I can't remember how many times I texted, sometimes it was super late at night or early in the morning but she would always reply! I was amazed. Then the night before I had my baby I really wasn't sure if it was it or not because I had had prodromal labor for days. I just let her know my symptoms and then let her know that I think I was ready to go to the hosptial to get checked. Not one time did I tell her she should come because again, I wasn't sure. But based off of what I was telling her, she made her way to me and was there by time my water broke (which was about 45 minutes after I arrived for monitoring). She honored what I wanted which was a drug free birth and even when I decided I wanted an epidural she was right by my side and honored that as well. Unfortuately and fortunately, I was unable to get the epidural because I went from from a 6 to a 10 in nine minutes and pushed the baby out in 45 seconds. Boom! No way would I have been able to do it without her. No way. My husand was great but I think I held her hand while I pushed. I will always be thankful for her and grateful that she played such a major role in my journey to becoming a mom of 2.

I absolutely love Sanyika!!! She has been my Doula for both of my pregnancies. Having her on my birthing team was the best thing I could've done. Not only did she make sure I was educated on the birthing process but she helped me develop a plan A, B, and C. She recommended THE BEST Midwives EVER!! Most of all I feel like I gained a friend that has now turned family. My family will always & forever love her!! Don't wait to add her to your birthing team!!! You need her! I know I did!

I picture a literal badass superhero without a cape when I think of Sanyika. I had the pleasure of having Sanyika with me during my first birth - it was definitely a long and hard labor and the doctore was thinking we would need to use the vacuum to get my baby out, but Sanyika rolled up her sleeves and played a hard game of tug of war with me to avoid the vacuum ????‍?? she was supportive, available, and overall wonderful.

If you are looking for a doula look no further because Sanyika is the perfect one! I had a great out of state doula my first pregnancy but for my second and final one I needed someone local to be present throughout the entire process. I was so blessed that my friend recommended Sanyika. From our first consultation back when I was looking for a post partum doula with my first child, my husband and I both agreed that Sanyika would be our doula whenever we had another child. Unknowingly we would become pregnant again less than 4 months after having our daughter and get the chance to work with Sanyika like we wanted to. From the beginning she was always there for me whenever I needed her. Literally called her in tears after I had to find an entire new obgyn and practice after a horrible experience, Sanyika stayed on the phone with me and helped me research doctors and other options. She let me call her and text her anytime I needed an outlet that wasn't my husband. And the day I gave birth she showed up and showed out. She had what my husband called a "magic bag" full of anything you think you need or don't need for labor. When I was hot she pulled out a fan, if I was thirsty she had bottles of water ready for me, when I gave birth she put chapstick on my lips because unknowingly to me they were super dry lol. She advocated for me the entire time and literally almost had to deliver my baby in the emergency room lobby due to the negligence and nonchantless of the OBGYN hospital staff. Without Sanyika I don't know how my husband and I would've did it. She held my hand from the beginning literally until the end (sorry for squeezing it so hard during the delivery lol). I highly recommend Sanyika to any and everyone who is bringing a life into the world!

I had my son in May 2022. I connected with Sanyika during my second trimester and it was the best decision I could have made. When I consulted with her I could feel her warm energy and I knew that day that she would be the one to help guide me while laboring with my son. She listened to me, advocated for me, but more importantly kept me educated throughout the process. Every step of the way she helped me understand that I could count on her no matter what. This was my first pregnancy and I was nervous, rightfully so. Sanyika managed to keep me calm during labor and delivery while also keeping me encouraged. She truly gave me a golden experience, one that I am grateful for and will never forget.

Sanyika was so knowledgeable, resourceful, and supportive during my pregnancy. She helped me build my birth team and we crafted a birth plan together, helping me feel confident. I had questions that I just couldn't find satisfactory answers to, and Sanyika was always there with an answer or helpful guidance.

And then the labor... I don't think I would have gotten through an unmedicated labor and birth without Sanyika. The comfort, warmth, and encouragement felt truly magical. And the pain relief, such a blessing. Sanyika captured such beautiful moments, because she is also a talented photographer! I sooo recommend the birth support + birth photography.

The postpartum support was incredible as well, so comforting and nourishing. Baby and I were having difficulties with feeding, and I was anxious and exhausted. At 1 week postpartum, Sanyika prepared an herbal bath for me that was so healing- physically mentally and spiritually. I was RENEWED from that visit, it was one of the pivotal moments in the early months.

We will definitely be working with Sanyika for the next baby.

At week 37 my baby had not flipped and my doctor was pressuring me to have a c-section.  When I started to cry the doctor told me not to cry, that a c-section was not a big deal and immediatly called her nurse in to schedule my c-section.  I was a wreck of emotions and called Sanyika.  Sanyika calmed me down had me walk her through the discussion I had with my doctor and sent me exercises and contact information of various accupunture places to that could help.  I think the most important part of the conversation was when Sanyika reminded me that this was my body and the doctors and that I should have a say in my pregnancy, delivery, and more importantly a say as a patient. I immediatly started the exercises and called my doctor's office requesting another ultrasound.  My doctor was not happy with me and explicitly said that if the baby had not flipped by wk 38 the only option was a c-section.  Happily at my 38th week follow-up and ultrasound, the baby had flipped.  At this point in time my doctor told me that becasue of my age and because I refused to have a c-section my child would most likely be a still-born.  Again, I called Sanyika to help calm me.  I ended up going in at wk 39 due to preclampsia.  The on-call doctor respected my birthing plan and would allow me to try a vaginal birth and induced me.  The medication made me vomit heavily.  Sanyika would clean my face and put cool rages with pepperment sent on them to make me feel better.  She'd brought soothing music and a light that projected the sky in my room.  It made the situation so much more relaxing and made me feel calm and good about my choice to not be bullied by my OB/GYN.  After 32 hours our baby boy was born.  Sanyika helped hold my hand and give my husband much needed instructions during the birth.  I am glad Sanyika was on my side the entire time! We couldn't have done it without her!

I want to start off by saying that from the moment I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted Sanyika to be my doula. I had a very stressful pregnancy and was dealing with a lot of major life changes. Sanyika spoke like into me and was so supportive throughout it all. I honestly don't know if I could have gone through everything if it wasn't for her. I was struggling with breastfeeding and post-partum depression after my son was born. She came over and talked with me and worked with me for hours on positions for the baby & helping him get latched. That meant the world to me. With Sanyika the support didn't stop at my sons birth and for that I am grateful. She's a wealth of knowledge and has connected me to so many amazing people. I know that when any of my sisters are expecting I'm definitely going yo be reaching out to Sanyika. She's the best!!!

When I first met with Sanyika for our initial consultation, I could feel her genuine energy and knew she would be the perfect doula for our family. I was pregnant with my first baby and had no idea what to expect. She provided me with a sense of security and confidence that I needed. 
She asked me what resources I needed to prepare for birth and gave me excellent recommendations for hypnobirthing courses, child birthing courses, acupuncturists, and many other great resources throughout my last trimester. I really appreciated that she provided me the information, but supported us in whatever decision we felt was best for our family.

At the hospital during labor, she was such a huge support alongside my husband. She helped me to stay relaxed and comfortable throughout the contractions. I also loved that she captured some of the sweetest photos that I will cherish forever. 

I dealt with postpartum preeclampsia, which was a scary experience for my family. Sanyika kept in contact with my husband and I to make sure I was ok and let us know she would be there for whatever we needed.  Once I got home, she continued to provide amazing postpartum care. The herbal sitz bath was heavenly and just what I needed to relax and get time to reset. 

Overall, I'm so thankful that we chose Sanyika as our doula and I can't say enough about how her support really helped us navigate our journey as new parents. If you're looking for a doula, she's the one! It'll be one of the best decisions you make in your pregnancy.

Sanyika is an AMAZING doula and an incredible human being! She exceeded my expectations in every way! From answering my countless questions in the middle of the night that randomly popped into my head to keeping me informed about all of my options at every stage of my pregnancy and delivery, I felt an extreme sense of preparedness because of Sanyika. My pregnancy and delivery was far from "textbook" and took many unexpected turns including early induction due to IUGR but Sanyika stayed cool, calm, and collected all while reminding me of my options and my birth plans that I set out to achieve. She was committed to helping me deliver a healthy baby in the way that I envisioned it, and thanks to her we did it! She truly cares for her clients like a member of her family, which is evident by the way that she advocates on your behalf. I feel blessed to have had Sanyika as a part of my birthing team and would not hesitate to use her again and refer her to anyone looking for an exceptional doula!

Sanyika was amazing during my entire pregnancy journey as well as my birth and afterwards. I wish I had found her with my other pregnancies. As this was my last and final child and my only boy this pregnancy held and will always hold a special place in my heart and life. I am so happy that I followed my heart and choose Sanyika to be my doula. She is patient and knowledgeable. She assisted me with keeping me knowledgeable about having as close to a home birth as I could in the hospital; she was respectful of my decisions and space. If you are thinking about hiring a doula and trying to decide if you actually need one you. No matter how much support you have hiring a doula and hiring Sanyika for that matter is not up for discussion. Best choice of postpartum experience was hiring Sanyika!

I hired her for three days, spread out between a couple of weeks after Max was born. I wasn't sure in the beginning how I felt about the days being a little bit spread out, but it ended up being exactly what I needed. Her guidance and support on each of these days was such a comfort. 

Day 1- Assisted in ordering my breast pump with insurance while my brain was in too much of a fog to handle this task, assisted in making breastfeeding as comfortable as possible, helped my husband and I learn how to use our baby carrier, bathed Max with us for the first time.

Day 2-Drew a glorious home-made Sitz bath for me, sanitized all of my bottles, taught me how to use the breast pump so I didn't have to read directions. 

Day 3- Taught me how to breastfeed while laying down, Showed me how to defrost pumped milk and feed Max his first bottle. 

I can't imagine the other tricks she has up her sleeve. These were the things that I was not confident with as a new mom and she gave me the tools to feel comfortable with them. There were NO dumb questions and she made me feel like I could do anything. She also allowed me to text her almost endlessly for a few weeks until I found my footing. However, best of all, while I and everyone else around were so focused on Max...she made me and my health a priority, which is a true gift after having a baby.

Sanyika is a God send. I met Sanyika as a FTM. She is literally the doula I prayed for. Sanyika is very knowledgeable about all things birth and beyond. She led childbirth education classes throughout my pregnancy and helped me to make informed decisions for myself and baby. Sanyika is one of THE sweetest people I have ever met. Her kind spirit is what led me to her. I was granted her pro bono doula services, and she treated me no different than her paid clientele. I never felt rushed or like I was getting half of her services or attention. She was so attentive to my needs and questions (and I had so many questions lol). She also made sure to help my partner become informed and taught him how to advocate for me in the event I could not advocate for myself. Her passion for birth and birthing people truly shines through her work. I faced some challenges near the term (40wks) of my pregnancy. Sanyika listened and encouraged me to trust my body and all the knowledge I learned through her and my own research. I ultimately had a c-section. Postpartum is where Sanyika played a vital role in my life. She supported me through early breastfeeding challenges. Late nights and early mornings I could reach out to her and she was there to help me. If she didn't know something she knew someone who did. I am so so so glad that Sanyika was a part of my birth story and postpartum journey. Without her, I don't think I would have accomplished my breastfeeding goals. She is so thorough, thoughtful, and oh so caring! While she is super sweet she is also a force not to be messed with! Sanyika will waste no time advocating for her clients. Sanyika and I still keep in contact today and I am so glad I met this beautiful woman. She has supported me and helped me heal from birth, grief, postpartum and beyond. I am forever grateful to Sanyika and all the she has provided to me and my family!

From the start of my pregnancy I knew that I wanted a doula. Let me say this,  Sanyika is passionate about her work and it shows the moment you contact her. She was very responsive, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the different phases of pregnancy and labor, she made me feel special even through our intitial meeting. During my pregnancy she was a listening ear, caring, compassionate, and had great advice! I truly was blessed to find a doula like sanyika. She was there for me during my pregnancy and she truly made my birthing experience a controlled and comfortable process. I told her exactly what I had planned for my birth and she was able to put my plans into action literally from the birth plan to the constant educational information that allowed me to make informed decisions about my birth. I planned on having a natural birth in a hospital setting and she was supportive from the start. I started to experience Preeclampsia late in my pregnancy at 37 weeks. I'm not going to lie the hospital experience was scary and overwhelming at times as a first time mom, but sanyika made me feel strong, powerful, calm, and confident to allow my body to bring my daughter into the world. She stayed the entire time I was in the hospital, she set the mood with lights and relaxing scents, and calming sounds and I really loved the way she transformed my hopsital room. Not only was she there for me, she was also supportive towards my fiancé and sister who were in the birthing room with me. She made them feel like they were a part of the process and even directed dad with the hip squeezes, ( those hip squeezes really help with those contractions!)  I had to get an epidural and later a c-section but Sanyika stayed with me up until I had to get moved into surgery. As I write this I get a little emotional because of how luckly I am that I found such an amazing doula, it really is a partnership and I will never forget my experience with her.

Having Sanyika as my doula was the best birthing experience I ever had. She travel out of town to be with me(Houston to Dallas). Throughout my pregnancy she constantly checked in with me and also arranged for a local doula to assist. Post partum she stayed with me, organized my kitchen and made some meals to freeze. She is the real deal!!

Sanyika played such a major role in my birth going as smoothly as it did. From our first interaction, I knew I had found a great doula. She is very knowledgeable and has such a calming spirit. She put my needs and goals for my birth of top importance ALWAYS ! During my birth, when everyone was focused on the new baby, she was focused on me and my needs. I first off like to say I am honored to be able to publicly leave a review about my first pregnancy experience  with Sanyika being my superhero doula; especially going the unmedicated natural route. Since day 1 with Sanyika she matched my husband and  I energy. It never seemed forced but comfortable. She made sure we were confident in our decision and  knowledge and be there For any questions Both of us may have. To know she had other mommies, she was always there, she's great at advising what best specifically work for you and tolerating pain. One of the greatest advice Sanyika gave me and husband was, enjoy each other while we wait for our baby girl to  be born because once that day come it changed from that day forward. One of the greatest advice. During labor she was patient, attentive and comforting! I could go on and on but Sanyika is great to have in the room while giving birth. Love love love her ?? I'm waiting for my sister in law to get pregnant so she can use her too lol

Sanyika is an amazing doula and friend.  She is kind, patient, knowledgeable, open-minded, and a will advocate on your behalf.  She truly loves to educate and support her clients and is always a phone call, text, or email away.  Her advice and support when I gave birth was priceless.  I truly feel if I hadn't taken her advice when I was induced I would have gotten a c-section (vaginal birth was my goal).  Also, my labor/progress was not going according to my birth plan and I felt terrible about it, but Sanyika was positive and supportive and did not judge the choices I made.  My husband was grateful for her support as well and I believe the three of us made an excellent team!

It’s was such a pleasant experience working with her. Sanyika assisted me with my 4th baby and with that many children you would think you got it all figured out by now. Well let me tell you every pregnancy is different and Sanyika brought such knowledge and resources and comfort throughout my pregnancy it was truly priceless. When it was my big day Sanyika was incredible from her affirming me to being hands on during those surges. Together we made my vaginal breech surprise gender birth an experience we will never forget.

Sanyika is such a blessing to this generation! I usually don't write reviews but for this one I have too! Many of us sometimes just need someone's experience to a service for us to also be willing to try, that's really my intention by writing this.

Before even finding out I was pregnant, I already knew I'd like to have a doula, because I knew the kind of birth I wanted would benefit me a lot to have someone to both educate me on the subject and support me(emotionally, physically, spiritually). But when it happened I found myself in a financial place that I couldn't afford it. I was already giving up on my dream and desire to have someone that would not only educate me on the subject of motherhood but also support me on this exciting journey. But that was when Sanyika told me about the empowerment scholarship program that ended up applying and winning. Working with Sanyika has been very fun which has changed completely my perspective on pregnancy, birth and postpartum. She's always honest yet positive. She really cares for her paciente which she treats more like friends. I cannot imagine going through this journey and without her! I faced challenges allong the way with my pregnancy but Sanyika would always have the right words to comfort and support me! She played a big role when it came to me having my desired unmediated birth even though it was an induced birth. The postpartum support was another blessing! I could write more, but let me just say I had an amazing birth experience, even though  the process and the journey was challenging, because God blessed me with the opportunity to meet and work with Sanyika. I really appreciate and like her <3.

Sanyika is the bomb.com! Being a first time single mother, Sanyika was very informative, kind and patient with me. She heavily prepared me for the arrival of my son. Although, my birthing plan didn't go as planned, Sanyika was there when things took a turn for what I felt was the worst, but with the gentleness and support from Sanyika, I was able to push through. I would highly recommend her to all of my moms to be or even experienced moms. She was so insightful for postpartum that I was able to recognize and normalize certain feelings and emotions. I absolutely love her and will definitely choose her again for my future kids.

I absolutely love Saniyka!! She was such an Angel in disguise! Literally my advocate when I didn’t have the words. She gave me so much education about birth throughout my pregnancy and after. She helped me pick the perfect birthing team along with being super supportive before labor, during, and after. Writing this review and trying to form words is hard because the experience I had with her really is indescribable. She was so patient with me in moment that I was uneasy and indecisive. She held my hand, put my chapstick on, set the mood. I mean she is just amazing!!! She will be our family Doula forever she is apart of our family we love her!

I gave birth to my first baby about 8 weeks ago and by birth experience was everything I prayed, and hoped for it to be. Sanyika played a huge part in making that happen! Although I decided to give birth in the hospital, I still wanted to make sure my wishes were honored which I know can be difficult in a hospital setting where some interventions are typically set as standard. I wanted to labor at home as long as possible because my plan was to have a natural umedicated birth. With Sanyika by my side, I was able to do just that! My husband called her late at night when my contractions started to get real close together. She came right over and I was able to start my labor process at home! She was calm, reassuring, and very positive! By the time I made it to the hospital, I was already 7 cm dilated! Once we got to the hospital she acted as my advocate. My husband and I could not have done this without her and we are forever grateful. I highly recommend Sanyika 100%.!!!

The initial visit was to create my birth plan. The following visit was to practice and prepare for laboring. I had a scheduled induction, so we arranged a time for her to be there. This was my third child, so things progressed quickly. Sanyika was in contact with me the entire time (overnight), and was able to get to the hospital, hours earlier than planned. She came in with her giant bag, and the calmest, sweetest energy. The nursing staff loves her. She dimmed the fluorescent lights and put on beautiful ambient lights. She played music (as previously discussed with me). She was there through every contraction and bathroom trip. After anesthesia, through contractions and readjustments. After two previous deliveries, this one was actually a great experience. Everything went so quickly; I was admitted to the hospital at 2am, medication started 6am, and my daughter was born at 10am. I was cheated with my other two children, as my husband was not actually present, or making everything worse. Sanyika assisted with nursing, getting me drinks, my food, bathroom breaks, the baby... everything. She stayed with me through the night. Prior to Sanyika, I was embarrassed not having my husband there. Sanyika went above and beyond what you would expect of the best husbands. Sanyika also had visits after I was home with the baby. No task was beneath her, as she did laundry, dishes, cleaned up toys, cared for my two year old, tolerated my anxious dog, etc. She held, comforted and burped my newborn, she held and made my two year old feel included. Sanyika even continued to check in with my family, months after the baby was born. I’d absolutely recommend Sanyika the Doula. Super long winded review, but I’d recommend her for sure to single mothers, (it’s definitely worth the expense) but I’d also recommend Sanyika as supplemental to husbands, mothers, sisters, etc.

Sanyika is an angel on earth. My husband and I were having our first child in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic. We needed to be educated about pregnancy and the birthing process; I also desired an advocate that had been through the process themselves. Sanyika supported us during pregnancy, in the room during delivery, and even after for the duration of the hardest parts postpartum. We learned so much through her, and now I never want to have another child without her! She was gentle with her encouragement and suggestions, she’s an incredible listener (sometimes I just needed to vent), and she always checked on my husband mentally as a new dad as well. She referred us to an amazing chiropractor and hypnobirthing course, and even virtually attended doctor visits. I can’t say enough good things about Sanyika. My birth experience was incredible because of her.

I started following Sanyika on Instagram pretty far along in my pregnancy this year. Although I wanted the support of a doula, I figured it was too late for me. I just so happened to see her post of a pro bono service she was advertising at the time. Now by this time I was in the middle of my ninth  month and figured she would even answer my application. Lol. But I decided to press my luck anyway. She contacted me within a half hour! Something I was certainly not expecting. She explained it was never too late to receive her services no matter where I was in my pregnancy. Her support through my last couple weeks of pregnancy and few months postpartum was essential to helping me get through a very difficult time. Now my eldest child is almost 11 years old so I was definitely starting over! Lol I had ton of questions and not once did she grow tired of me. She had many resources to help me and she also shared experiences of her own which made me feel comfortable about the decisions I’d made for myself and my little one. She kept in contact with me and made sure that I knew I could also reach out to her if needed. Definitely one of the most sweetest, kindest and REALEST women I’ve ever known.  If you or anyone you know is in need of a doula, I highly recommend her. Thank you, Sanyika!

Adding Sanyika to my "birth team" was one of the easiest and best decisions I made for my pregnancy journey. My husband and I instantly connected with her as it felt like we were just talking with family. She was so supportive, answering the random questions I had throughout pregnancy as I prepared for childbirth. I already felt she was so valuable to us and we hadn't even birthed our baby yet!! Due to COVID restrictions at the hospital, Sanyika came to my home to labor with me prior to going to the hospital and talk about support, love and comfort. She was with me through the late hours of night to the early morning, then we went off the hospital to deliver! We remained in contact throughout our hospital stay and even through postpartum. I didn't realize I would have a doula/confidant for life, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks Sanyika!

When I first decided to get a doula, Sanyika was the first one I met with. Upon meeting, I knew she was going to be the best part of my birth story, and she was! My mother passed away unexpectedly and COVID-19 came around, making my pregnancy way more difficult emotionally than expected. Sanyika was always there cheering for me alongside my husband, and was such a great support during my birth. I truly appreciate her persistence and her caring bedside nature as she sat with me at the hospital for over 12 hrs. I will recommend her every day of the week! Thanks again Sanyika!

The birth of my son was not an easy one. I labored for 6 days (I know, right) & was in the hospital for a total of 10 days. A huge part of making this process bearable was the fact that I had an amazing doula supporting me throughout the entire ordeal. I found her later in my pregnancy ( 31weeks) but because of the amount of support I got prior, during, and postpartum- it felt like she’d been with me the entire time. From weekly meetings to educational resources, labor techniques, breathing exercises, even installing my car seat while I was in labor- Sanyika was absolutely amazing and did it all!! .

As a black Woman I was so afraid to have my son in a traditional hospital setting. Sanyika eliminated all of my fears and made my birth one to remember. If you are interested in doula services - I would highly recommend reaching out and completing a consult. You will not regret it! Thank you soo much Sanyika for all of your support!! After having traumatic labor experiences in the past I decided to hire a doula this time around. It was the best decision I ever had! Having Sanyika made the difference. She helped me keep focus throughout my contractions and made my labor run smoothly!

This was my first experience of having a doula and I definitely would be using her again. She gave me the support that I needed during my second pregnancy and I wish I had her during the first pregnancy. She is very comforting, supportive and was there every step of the way. As a second time mom with previous midwifery/birth center and dual experience, I thought my husband and I were prepared to venture into the second labor without a doula. However, as my due date approached, I became concerned about laboring in a new city without family. I realized there may be times my husband needed to take care of our 3 year old or rest, and I would be stuck laboring alone until my mother arrived. So my hunt for a doula began. This time, I knew I wanted a Black doula. Sanyika swept into my heart with her sweet, empathetic personality and affordable rates. She was patient and available,  and she dealt with my chronic complaining via text flawlessly. She always responded quickly no matter the time, she was readily available. Sanyika was reassuring, resourceful, and encouraging. She had solutions and suggestions for almost every ailment. In the delivery room, she maintained an assertive presence but was complicit with my demands when needed. She wasn’t afraid to push back against me once the intense pain impaired my decision making. She knew what was best, and she made sure I had food and drink to sustain my energy even when I didn’t want to. Even once I got the epidural at 6 cm dilated, Sanyika was still incredibly helpful: offering positioning suggestions, assisting the nurse and midwife as needed, rendering heated massages to help with the leg stiffness. Sanyika was an instrumental part of the team championing me during a looong pushing session. After the birth, she stayed for a few hours: assisting with breast feeding and helping my family move my belongings out of the labor room and into the mother/baby room. Bottom line, Sanyika the Doula is awesome. She has resources for everything and continues to keep in touch even 5 months postpartum. I highly recommend her. You won’t regret it. She’s definitely part of the family and will easily meld into yours.

Sanyika was exactly what my husband and I needed our birthing experience! Prior to going into labor, we sat and had a conversation to cover all the specifics concerning the big day. Sanyika was very accommadating and opened up her schedule in case our little one arrived early. Well, I went into labor a week early and she was one call away, ready to be there for us! After a few hours in the hospital with little to no pain, she showed up shortly after midnight to assist me. It was right on time because that's when the pain began. Through the entire process, she was a source of comfort, encouragement and strength. She used techniques to minimize the pain from my contractions and was present: fully invested physically and emotionally through the entire process. She also shared the experience of welcoming our little girl into the world and held her for the first time shortly after. If you're looking for a doula who is the real deal, use Sanyika! She created a less stressful environment for me to welcome life and I am truly thankful she was there.

I loved having Sanyika as my doula. She was by my side for both of my pregnancies. She was the comforting voice I needed and the held my hand when I needed it most. She was also my spokeswoman. Prior to delivery Sanyika and I sat down and discussed my birth plan in detail. I was able to confide in her and tell her what I was afraid, excited about, what I needed and wanted most. I had an awesome 1st delivery experience with Sanyika as my doula. She provided the upmost assistance for preparing my body for delivery. During my time delivering, we performed a variety of techniques that faciliated the birthing process. Although I had both my mother and my husband in the labor room, it was very benefical to have Sanyika there for the guided support. She was constantly on her toes providing any additional items that we needed to be comfortable. Also she took some wonderful pictures and videos throughout the process. I highly recommend her as a doula.

Choosing Sanyika as my doula was the best decision I’ve ever made. As a first time mom, I had no prior knowledge of what to expect and was nervous about the process. Sanyika’s expertise coupled with her impeccable personality truly put me at ease. She knew the right positions to put me in to manage my pain. During labor I had difficulties pushing. Sanyika’s calming and reassuring presence got me through it. She always made herself available for my questions whether it be breastfeeding or postpartum issues.
